  1. Attached is a screen shot of nLite's definition of command line switches. The switches are fairly straight forward, but what really happens when they are used? There is a log switch called burnlog. This seems to imply that only burns can be done. Is this true? What happens if no preset path is provided? If only a burn is done, where is it done - CD/DVD or ISO file (name)? If it is done directly to media, what if the media is R/W - Erase done first? I am unable to find any instructions or good information in the forums. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, John.
  2. urban.novak, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure you always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all you work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.
  3. toibry, I looked at my real machine, and indeed Offline Files are disabled. I am bringing up my VM to see what my nLited one says. I learned that I have to have Fast User Switching disabled to even see the Offline Files options. I assume you are talking about Windows Updates in question 2? If so, it is covered in the Unattended section, Automatic Updates tab. Make sure you always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John. EDIT: When my VM came up, I discovered no Offline Files tab on my folders options. There is a shared folder on the net between by host and my guest systems. What do I need to do to see the tab? Thanks, John.
  4. smeko, sorry, I cannot read your language. Please interpret the error message to English. Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.
  5. bengt66, I am using VMware Server since at the time it was the only reasonable one to support XP x64. Others here seem to like both VirtualBox and VirtualPC. If you have done all the experiments that you list, then I am really at a loss. That is, if you started with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders. Have you used Process Explorer to see why the video process hangs? Is your CPU 100%, or is there a file that is tied up? If you think there is a possibility that fresh files/folders were not used on your SP3 only build then try it again, especially if you start using a virtual system. Make sure you include only SP3. Enjoy, John. EDIT: I know of no log files from nLite - only the Last Session.ini. John.
  6. toibry, I don't understand the question and I think we would all like it better if you were to use a normal font. Thanks, John.
  7. bengt66, I seen nothing wrong in your Last Session.ini files. I really only looked at the first one since it is the only one running the latest version of nLite. Did you integrate more than just SP3? I know nothing about your AddOns and would suggest you try, from a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, one containing only SP3 and your hot fixes. See if this allows your video processing to work properly. If so, then add back in the AddOns till it fails. I hope you are testing under a virtual system (VirtualPC, VirtualBox, VMware Server - all free). Enjoy, John.
  8. bengt66, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure you always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all you work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. What log files are you searching for? Enjoy, John.

    Unknown Disk

nicrmo, I suspect you may be able to disable the offending HW in your BIOS. It would be easier, if it works, than physically unplugging. Enjoy, John.
  10. StarGazer2112, I think I did understand you were proposing a solution to your problem. If it works for you, have at it. I was suggesting a solution for avoiding the problem. The author of nLite (nuhi) has stated that a fresh copy of the CD files/folders should always be used. Some have proposed that nLite check to see if the source has been nLited before and issue a warning. I support this idea because I have seen here many varied and bizarre symptoms caused by reuse of the source. Most of the users have little or no experience in editing installer files and few have 28 years. If you really believe this is a bug, then PM or e-mail nuhi and suggest a solution. I think the source is not public and he is the sole owner and implementer. Enjoy, John.
  11. daredevil1, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. If you look at the help (little ? to the right of Unattended Mode) on Hide Pages, it says that if all the information on a page is answered, the page is not displayed. But if any information is missing, then the page is displayed. Did you provide all answers for that page? Have you run nLite more than once on the same source? Enjoy, John.

    ohci1394.sys

Illuminist, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure you always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please do a search on your source folder for ohci1394.sys, and let us know if and where you find it. Enjoy, John.
  13. StarGazer2112, it sounds like you have run nLite on your source more than once. This leads to many varied and bizarre results. You should always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders. I looked in my nLite.INF and found lots of references to nhelper and delete near the bottom. Here is the last few lines of the file. I am running XP x64 and the file is in my AMD64 folder. Enjoy, John. 14. Lorinette, I really think you want Notify Before Update (3). This will notify you before it DLs. Please post a screen shot of My Computer-Properties-Automatic Updates tab. Have you searched to see if anyone else has this problem? Make sure you always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders. Enjoy, John.
  15. dolivas, please attach your WPI log file found in the C:\ directory. Enjoy, John.
  16. Lorinette, I have Notify Before Update and that is 3 in my Last Session. You have 2 and I suspect this is Download and Notify of Installation. Please look at your Unattended-Automatic Updates tab and tell us what you have selected. Enjoy, John.
  17. ssjnaruto, this is a WPI error and mritter will need to look at it. Thanks for the screen shot. I assume you are using the latest version of WPI, 7.2.2. If not, please update and try it. Also please attach your WPI log file found in the C:\ directory. Let us know. Enjoy, John.
  18. Lorinette, need to see your Last Session.ini - please attach (not paste) it. Have you run nLite more than once against the same source or included more than one SP? I don't think you have found an nLite bug, I use the same options and it works fine for me. Enjoy, John.
  19. exquisite000, thanks for posting your Last Session.ini. I assume Unattended Mode = 5 means Prompt Repair. If so, please read the ? information next to the Unattended Mode pull down. I suspect this is where your key prompt is coming from. I use Fully Automatic and test in VMware Server and my installs are totally without interruptions. I also integrate a theme and it comes up when the install is complete. Since you are testing under VMware, please try a fully automated install and see if it fixes your problems. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD Files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session, and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.
  20. Chris_08, as far as I know, you cannot do this with nLite. During the first part of install, Setup ask you to select the drive to use. Others have asked this question and I think the answer was always no. You should do a search here and see what you find. Enjoy, John.
  21. xboxhaxorz, I suspect your problem is that you have run nLite more than once against the same source. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Symptoms of running nLite multiple times are varied and bizarre. It seems you do need to start over. Enjoy, John.
  22. freshhh, you were lucky starting with an ISO and I suspect you would have run into more problems as time goes on. I tried QEMU and it worked (mostly) but was slow and did not have an accelerator for x64. It took me 1.5 hours to do an install and VMware Server takes less than 15 minutes. It is fairly easy to use as proved by my use. Enjoy, John.
  23. Fernando 1, I did do what you suggest and said so in my last post. Since I did it on my VM (no ATI hardware), I got an error as soon as the extraction was complete that there was no applicable HW. ricktendo64, I am running XP x64 and there is very little support in various packs for them and I prefer to have better control of what goes into my machine. Thanks to both, Enjoy, John.
  24. Babelfish translates this to "Management of l' computer > Local users and groups"and to "AUTHORITY NT \ authenticated Users " Enjoy, John.
  25. freshhh, you cannot start with an ISO. You must start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please spend some time looking through the forum and you will see that many people violate these principles and have bizarre results. After you start over, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini if you still have problems. I have never heard of Sandboxie, but if it is a virtual system (WMware? -> VMware), then you can use VMware Server (free, but installer is almost 600 MB) and what I use with all Kurt_Aust's updates. I understand VirtualBox (free) also supports x64, but have not tried it.
