  1. Orchidomegaly, I notice that you show OS: Vista Business x86. If you are trying to run nLite under Vista to slipstream SP2 into XP, then that is not going to work. I would be surprised if the key is your only problem. If you don't have an XP x64 system to run on, then install your original CD on VM and run nLite there. I run XP x64 on my host/guest and have never had this problem. Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini, if you have further questions. Enjoy, John.
  2. Great work, qwertyforsure! Thanks for the experiment and reporting. The funny thing is that x09 is English and x16 is Portuguese. If you run msiexec.exe with /? parameters or no parameters, is the language English or Portuguese? If you change the x0816 to x0809, can you run nLite and integrate 4.5 or do all the other hot fixes fail? The MS article says if there is an error a Spslpsrm.log file will be created. Did you look for this file and if so, where is it? I need to look a little more, but I am giving up for tonight - this is beginning to be fun. Enjoy, John.
  3. Happy-Dude, how did you burn the DVD? Are you using nLite? If so, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. I have used nLite to write DVDs (DVD+RW) with no problem. What speed did you write the DVD? You should try a much lower speed, if you have not. Can you load a CD/DVD into the drive and see the data on it? If not, perhaps the drive is bad. Call LG technical support and ask them. Enjoy, John.
  4. shafeeq, who says the version is unrecognized? Please post the a screen shot of the error message. More information is always better than less. Also, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.
  5. fixem2, I use this batch file that I found here in the forum via a search - try it, searching that is. I run the batch file out of RunOnce. Enjoy, John. @ECHO OFF SETLOCAL ENABLEEXTENSIONS ENABLEDELAYEDEXPANSION FOR /F "TOKENS=1 DELIMS= " %%A IN ('REG QUERY HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Network\{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}') DO ( SET TEMP1=%%A SET TEMP2=!TEMP1:~99,38! SET TEMP3=!TEMP2:~-1! IF "!TEMP3!"=="}" ( IF NOT "!TEMP2!"=="{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}" ( SET REGSTR1=HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Network\{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\!TEMP2!\Connection SET REGSTR2=HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\!TEMP2! REG ADD !REGSTR1! /v ShowIcon /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f REG ADD !REGSTR2! /v IPAutoconfigurationEnabled /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f ) ) )
  6. kgqxt, please look at this link and see if it helps. Enjoy, John.
  7. NEO-BAHAMUT-, I suspect the reason you have no response yet is I think all of these issues have been addressed here. Please do some searching before posting. Hot fixes must be placed in the proper order, Dot Net will not integrate as a hot fix - use the RunOnce to install it and its updates. Enjoy, John.
  8. warriors, to begin with, you should never run nLite more than once on the same source. It seems like I have heard the same from others and that is the way MS wants it. Since my memory may be faulty, I suggest you do some searching of these forums for the answer. Enjoy, John.
  9. jonathanfoster, if you do it the way the link suggests, then just place the modified ntoskrnl.exe in your $OEM$ with this structure: $OEM$ $$ System32In other words, place it in the System32 folder and it will be copied to the target system System32 folder. You may also want to place a copy of the renamed ntoskrnl.exe in the folder so will you will have a copy there if you need it. You may need to turn off SFC to keep from getting an error. Give it a try and see what happens. Enjoy, John.
  10. vikingstf, I am not sure if you are asking a question now. I can see from the quote that you would like a master CD because the server IP address needs to be the same for all clients. If you do it the way you have, the IP address of all the clients will be the same and this is a problem. Perhaps you could define everything, then edit the winnt.sif (I was wrong on the name in my last post and will edit it), removing the IP address for the adapters. NLite will not let you leave this field (ipaddress = "172.16.32.200" in your .ini) blank, but if you remove it then the card should discover its address via DHCP. The problem is, if you don't specify the MAC address the card cannot be found. You said it did work, though, so give it a try and see what happens. Things are getting a little complicated. What is the OOBE problem? Enjoy, John.
  11. jonathanfoster, see this and you really should search before you post. Enjoy, John.
  12. LordWarlock, so you did not use nLite? What did you use? What Windows version did you run on and what Windows version was integrated. This is an nLite forum and if you are not using nLite, you really should ask your question in another forum here. Enjoy, john.
  13. LordWarlock. I would still like to see your Last Session.ini. There is some good information in there to help understand your problem without asking 64 questions. Are your sure you did not run nLite more than once on the same source? Enjoy, John.
  14. yestereven, I run VMware Server (on XP x64) and have no problems. Enjoy, John.
  15. forkprong, I do remember seeing your Last Session before and wondering what Unattended mode you are using, since none shows in your Last Session. What Unattended mode have you specified? Try Fully Automatic if you have not tried it. Enjoy, John.
  16. Molecule, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. I know little about 2000, but we all will need to look at your Last Session. Enjoy, John.
  17. LordWarlock, I looked at my log (on VM) and it is empty. Nice to learn about the log - learn something nearly every day! Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.
  18. 我认为您有错过的字体的在屏幕的问题或字符。 请附有(不是浆糊)您的前Session.ini。 只保证总是开始以您CD的文件或文件夹的一个新拷贝,完成所有您的工作在一个nLite会议上并且集成一SP。 享用,约翰。 I think you are having problems with missing fonts or characters on the screen. Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John
  19. ZEUS__, there is no problem with VMware because it has its own virtual drivers and uses the host drivers for the real hardware. You need to include the mouse/keyboard drivers in nLite when you make an ISO. Enjoy, John.
  20. ZEUS__, I am still confused and don't understand what your problem is. Does your USB mouse/keyboard not work? Thanks for the Last Session but next time please attach (not paste). Did your mouse/keyboard come with drivers? If so, you should include them in the Driver section of nLite. I would think you should plug your mouse/keyboard and leave them plugged. This comes from the Advanced button of the Components section of nLite. This is the default and most have no problems with it. Enjoy, John.
  21. ltsnow, I found a copy to DL for x64 and tried it and it did not integrate for me either. I got a window with the switch options, then the error that the integration failed. I tried a direct integration and got the same switch option window, then it quit. I created a log file and got the log below. 00:00.000: ==================================================================== 00:00.000: Started: 2009/01/10 (Y/M/D) 12:55:26.046 (local) 00:00.000: Time Format in this log: MM:ss.mmm (minutes:seconds.milliseconds) 00:00.000: Command line: c:\231e703ecc5db09606cd1d24\update\iesetup.exe /integrate:C:\Slipstream\New_Machine /log:c:\ 00:00.000: INFO: Checking version for c:\231e703ecc5db09606cd1d24\update\iesetup.exe: 8.0.6001.18344 00:00.000: ERROR: Invalid command line argument: '/integrate:C:\Slipstream\New_Machine' 00:00.031: INFO: Message to User: Run iesetup.exe /? for usage. 00:03.672: ERROR: Failed to parse command line arguments -- 2nd pass. 00:03.672: ERROR: Setup exit code: 0x00000004 (Invalid command line). It looks like the /integrate switch is not valid. I suspect nLite is using the same method and is getting the same error. I have a couple more things to try and will let you know if I have any success. Let us hear if you solve the problem. I did install it on my VM and it installs and works fine. Enjoy, John.
  22. bengt66, the quoted information from MS is for running systems. Many people here have stated that even RTM (Release To Manufacturing) with no SPs worked fine after adding only SP3. I don't know if you are really starting with a fresh source. Please start with a fresh copy of your source CD, then slipstream SP3 and do nothing else except create an ISO and see if that works. Enjoy, John.
  23. ZEUS__, I'm confused, too. Are you plugging your mouse and keyboard in while your system is powered up? I don't know what is the problem with the found new hardware pop-up. Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.
  24. qwertyforsure, I have an experiment for you, if you are willing to try it. I suspect that the wrong language folder is being used (perhaps ptb) during /integrate. My experiment: Extract the hot fix package then go into the ptg folder and execute the update.exe file (in update folder) with the same parameters as belivakov gave earlier. Here is the article where I got the switches for update.exe. Please let me know what you think. Enjoy, John. EDIT: There is also a /log:path switch. This will allow you to see the error that is occurring. You can also use the switch on the original install file. John.
  25. quinriva, TranceEnergy is very knowledgeable of games and game problems. If you don't hear from him soon, you might try PMing him. In the meantime, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.
