kgqxt, sorry I do not understand. What do you mean by 'word screen'? You can enter your question in simple Chinese and I will try to use BabelFish to translate. Also please try it to translate your image. Enjoy, John.

TheWalrus, probably not, but you can try putting the original CD into the drive and when it auto starts, select Install optional Windows components. Good Luck, John.

meowing, I have it set to disabled so that SFC is not active during install or after. In my Last Session.ini is the line DoSFC. Enjoy, John.

reguapo, after running nLite, look in your source folder and attach the Last Session.ini to your next reply. We have no idea what your problem is until we see your Last Session.ini. Thanks, John.

Kurt_Aust, I am running OOBE (not skipped or removed) and auto login to my defined account and your bat runs fine under that account. freshhh, It is hard for us to tell what you are doing. Are you running under VMware Server or VirtualBox? I see you have included files for both. I also see you have installed multiple versions of the same same programs (at least .NET and ThunderBird) - why? You are installing an awful lot of stuff. You probably need to pare it down until you are sure it is working and you also need to sit and watch it run and try to see any error messages that pass by quickly. With all the stuff in your bat, it should take a long time, perhaps an hour unless you have a really fast machine. I don't know why your drivers are not there unless they are not the correct drivers for your hardware. If you are running under a virtual system you will not see the drivers in Device Manager because the HW is not there and Windows will not install the drivers without the HW. Your driver files are processed by nLite into the source folder and you can see them in c:\NLDRV folder after installing (unless you selected to delete after install in nLite). The original driver files as well as the original hot fix files are not carried to the ISO. Hope this helps, John.

vikingstf, you certainly can use previous Presets. They are stored in C:\Program Files\nLite\Presets and are listed in the Presets page when nLite runs. You can also save and Import presets. I copy the Last Session.ini and the Last Session_u.ini files from my source folder after running nLite and I think I want to keep a copy of this configuration. You should not run nLite more than once on the same Windows files/folders. This will produce many varied and bizarre symptoms. I simply copied my CD to a folder and before I run nLite, I copy these files/folders to my working folder. If you will click the ? on the Networking tab of the Unattended section, you will see an explanation of why the MAC address is needed. In my last post, I told you how to find the MAC address in a running system. Because I am planning a new build, I looked in my old machine and the MAC address is on the NIC card in the form of a small sticker. In this case a 'Master' CD would not be possible. It would seem that the IP addresses you specified would vary per machine also. The only thing I can think of is to modify the winnt.sif file, then create an ISO/CD. You can run nLite more than once to do this. Here is the area of interest from my winnt.sif. [params.Adapter1] NetCardAddress=0x000fffffffff ConnectionName="Road Runner" Simply edit this file, which is in your i386 folder, then create an ISO/CD. Enjoy, John. EDIT: Corrected winnt.sif. John

forkprong, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. I am rally curious about the 8 CDs and what they are/contain - why so many? Are they recovery CDs? If so, some have reported that recovery CDs don't work with nLite - you should search on 'recovery CD'. Please post a screen shot of a Windows Explorer window of your unmodified source folder. Enjoy, John.

NEO-BAHAMUT-, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. If you are running nLite under Vista, then you will probably not be successful, especially integrating an SP into XP. If you are integrating SP3 then you don't need any hot fixes prior to SP3. NLite has a built in WMP11 integrator and you only need to put the WMP11 update file into your hot fix section. You can install Windows Defender out of the RunOnce exit or look for an AddOn in that forum. Enjoy, John.

freshhh, I know of no alarm that keeps one from running nLite multiple times on the same source. You can place your WMP11 in as a hot fix and nLite will integrate it for you. I just put it and its updates, in order, in my hot fix section. Please attach your Run1_XP-64.bat, so we can look at it. The RunOnce looks fine, exactly like mine. Do you see the Run1_XP-64.bat run? After the last reboot during setup, RunOnce is executed and you can watch it run. I don't understand the missing drivers. When you run nLite can you see the drivers integrating? Enjoy, John.
-
freshhh, why do you have 680 IE7-WindowsServer2003.WindowsXP-KB960714-x64-ENU.exe first instead of last in your hot fix list? If you run Kurt_Aust's batch file, it will arrange the hot fixes in the proper order. You should move it to the bottom. It's hard to believe this is your problem, however. Have you run nLite more than once against the same source? Enjoy, John.
-
qwertyforsure, I am out of ideas. Was the error message from nLite the same as the direct integration? It seems that nLite uses direct integration of SPs and perhaps it uses it for hot fixes. Enjoy, John.
-
qwertyforsure, I do not know why nLite won't integrate it. I think nuhi is the only one to answer that question, but perhaps some one will reply. Yes you should use the /NoRestart switch. You will need to restart before you use the MSI, but I would let Windows finish its setup. Enjoy, John.

vikingstf, make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. You need to specify the MAC address for your adapter. That is the way nLite finds the right adapter to apply the changes you request. To see the MAC address, open a Command Prompt and type GetMAC. The Physical Address shown is the MAC address. I think the English version of nLite will run fine on your system, but I don't think we'll need to do that, at least not yet. Let us know about other modifications that don't work, but be sure you have adhered to the rules at the top of my post. Enjoy, John.
-
qwertyforsure, try this one. Enjoy, John. EDIT: I looked some more and the DL is the same as the English one. I DLed it and the size is 3.17 MB (3,327,000 bytes) and the MD5 is 48447E0BA4560CD558EDDB5F5B0809E. Please check these against yours. If they are OK, then you should try to integrate the update after you install Windows. You can also do it out of the RunOnce exit in nLite-Unattended. John.

toibry and JatinBeniwal, I have no problem finding the Folders options. I am simply saying that on my nLite install on my VM there is NO Offline Files tab. Perhaps you guys can tell me why I have no such tab. I have seen no nLite options to change the way the security center notifies you. Perhaps a Google search will turn up a Registry tweak. Enjoy, John.

qwertyforsure, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. I assume you used the Portuguese version of KB942288. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.

Oops! Sorry about that, Kurt_Aust, I should have looked before I posted. I have made so many changes to your original bat that I tend not to look at your current one. My D: was defined and formatted before my install. I don't think I will keep it that way, it was just an experiment. Thanks, John.
-
Kurt_Aust, I tried an install with ProfilesDir set to my D: partition. When your bat ran, the setting of the Windows Update short cut failed. How about using: %allusersprofile% Thanks, John.

forkprong, You really should start a new topic. Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.

TedJBrown and amazonkid, I've read elsewhere that it is the slipstreaming of XP SP3 under Vista that is the problem. You could try it without the SP and see if it works. Otherwise, you need to find an XP machine. Another alternative suggested earlier is to install a virtual system and bring up XP and run nLite there. Having the virtual system would be very useful for testing the ISO. Enjoy, John. EDIT: amazonkid, whether this is a bug or not is up to discussion. It may be the nature of the beast (nLite). I suspect nLite uses the Windows slipstream routines and the problem may well be there. I also suspect this is not being treated as a bug and probably no one is working. Enjoy, John.

i recieve the following error's
johnhc replied to cworkman's topic in Windows Post-Install Wizard (WPI)
cworkman, please attach your WPI log, found in your root directory. Thanks, John. -
smeko, I see you are running nLite under Vista for an XP source. This is probably not going to work. You can try compatibility mode, but it probably will not work either with an SP integration. To try compatibility mode, find nLite.exe (in C:\Program Files\nLite), right click-Properties-Compatibility tab-click Run this program in compatilility... and select SP2 XP Compatibility Mode. Good luck, John.

DrDWithaPHD, you said the following couldn't be integrated, but there is no list. Looking at your Last Session.ini (thanks for attaching), I am told that .Net and its updates could not be integrated in XP x64 and I suspect this is true for XP. I am not sure why this is, but you can do the installs from the RunOnce tab of the Unattended section of nLite. Here is a great guide for XP x64 of how to do this. It should be applicable to XP with the correct files. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.

grrl, this does not look like any Last Session.ini I have seen. What version nLite are you running? If not 1.4.9.1, then DL it and rerun your build and attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure you always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.
