  1. XP_NO, in the Unattended section of your Last Session.ini, I see no specification for Automatic Updates so I assume yours are default which is what you are seeing. Go into the Unattended window of nLite, Automatic Updates tab and select the option you want. Enjoy, John.
  2. exquisite000, I will say it again: You must always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders. NLite changes/adds/deletes files/folders when it runs. It also writes the Last Session.ini into the source folder. A copy is also written to C:\Program Files\nLite\Presets, with a date code, so all previous ones are there. You can select the Preset (Last Session) you want to use in the beginning of running nLite. Enjoy, John.
  3. petremure, this is the nLite forum. You should post this in the vLite forum. Enjoy, John.
  4. nomadturk, I don't have much help. I would only suggest that you try building an ISO that is much simpler. I hope you are testing under a virtual system, and if not you will consider VirtualPC, VirtualBox, VMware Server (all free), or some other you may know about. Try an ISO with only your really need drivers (non, if VM), and no AddOns and no Hot Fixes. Let us know what happens. Thanks for posting your Last Session.ini, but please, in the future, attach (not paste) it. Enjoy, John.
  5. ijwcomp, you are welcome. You might look into VirtualBox. They announced x64 support a few months ago, but I know of no one who has tried it and don't know if it requires VT. Sorry about the missing MiniPlayer. I miss it too, but alas, it is not part of x64 - one more item on the 32/64 differences. I saw a wireless (AirLink 101) in a Fry's flyer for $10. Probably cheaper to just buy one rather than beat your head on the wall. Have you looked at the chip manufacturer? I have a TrendNet NIC and got my 64 bit driver from RealTech (made the chip). Enjoy, John.
  6. ltsnow, I assumed that considering my response you knew I do not know why IE8 won't integrate. I think that IE7 also did not integrate until nuhi fixed nLite. I hope you have tried to contact him. I also assume you have tried it with nothing but SP3 and nothing else against a fresh copy of your source files/folders. Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini for us to look at. I will post when I get a chance to try it on my x64 system. Enjoy, John.
  7. ltsnow, sorry, I don't know where. Thanks, MagicAndre1981. I looked at the site and it appears that registration is required. I have more registrations than I need now and will wait to till MS makes it public. Enjoy, John.
  8. nlite+vbox, please attach a Last Session.ini that has these things removed. The one you posted does not. Thanks, John.
  9. ltsnow, I was going to give it a try, but could not find a copy. Where can I find a copy for XP x64? MS does not show RC1 at all and Google says MS says it will be out in January 09. I did see some sites that had XP copies. If it will not integrate, as you found, then I suspect only nuhi can help. I suggest you send him an e-mail (see nLite site) or a PM or both. Enjoy, John.
  10. mark, you mean _U.ini not .ini. exquisite000, when nLite runs, it changes the files in the source folder. Either copy your CD again or keep a copy on your hard file. I copied my CD only once and now when I want to run nLite I copy those files/folders to my working folder. Yes you can Import any Last Session.ini you want to use - see the Presets screen of nLite, Import Button. When I have something I like, I save a copy of the Last Session.ini so I can use it later. Enjoy, John.
  11. nlite+vbox, first, please remove the _u.ini file. It contains private information and should never be posted. WPI is a stand alone program that runs out of the $OEM$ folder. It is not part of nLite in any way. See the forum two below this one. NLite does not copy your CD unless you ask it to. I copied my CD files/folders into a folder on my HDD, then when I want to make an nLite run, I copy it's contents to the working folder and run nLite on it. Enjoy, John.
  12. jcorleone, I did not remember an nLite feature to do this so I looked at Unattended - Network Settings tab. I think this is where it should be since I would think it should be by adapter. I did not find anything hopeful, so I did a Google search. See this post for some ideas. Sounds interesting, please let us know if you find out how to do it for individual adapters. Enjoy, John.
  13. exquisite000, canadaspride is absolutely correct - you should remove the _u.ini files! These should never be posted, as it says at the top of the file! The only problem I see in your Last Session.ini is that you are applying hot fixes to IE7 and Media Player 11, but you have installed neither. Search the MS Download site for both and include them in your hot fix list before the updates. There is only one way to test drivers and that is against the actual hardware. A virtual system is still the best way to test your ISOs to get these other problems resolved before you go to HW. The Last Session.ini that is usually posted is in the source folder after nLite runs. Enjoy, John.
  14. drfrot, to respond to your question: I simply copied my CD files to a folder that I left intact. When I want to make an nLite run, I then copy the files into my working directory. Always start with a fresh copy. Enjoy, John.

    nLite issues

Alexstarfire, the odds are your problems are caused by running nLite more than once against the same same source. Always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all you work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. As requested by burned, please post (attach, not paste) your Last Session.ini. Enjoy, John.
  16. ijwcomp, I ran another experiment putting a folder named $1 in the $OEM$ folder. Inside the $1 folder, I put a folder named Program Files (x86) and placed a file in it. The file was in the C:\Program Files (x86) along with all the other files when the install was complete. Enjoy, John.
  17. exquisite000, Considering your last numbered list: The Last Session.ini is in your source folder where your Windows files are (after you run nLite). It is created by nLite, not VMware. If it does not say x64, then it is 32 bit, x86. I will look at your links. Copy your Windows CD files/folders into a folder on your HDD. DL the SP, hot fixes, drivers you want and save them somewhere on your HDD. Run nLite and integrate the SP, add the hot fixes and make any removals and changes (with nLite), including the Unattended section, that you want and make an ISO. If you discover a problem, start the whole process over again. I copied my CD to a folder and then copy it to my working folder before I run nLite. VMware is not aware of your ultimate hardware and uses virtual ones for the configured VM. There are many things that can and will go wrong before you get an ISO that will work and be what you want, not even considering the driver part. VMware offers a way for you to sit at you KB and mouse and sort these out without the frustration of hardware issues on top. It is also a lot faster. I can install my XP x64 system in less than 15 minutes on VMware Server. Please read through some of the posts here and you will see what I mean. VMware also allows you to boot the ISO without burning a CD (create a coaster). Hope this helps, John. EDIT: Concerning number 3 above. These instructions have nothing to do with nLite. NLite will place the proper files in the proper places, you only need to run the Drivers under Task Selection and select the drivers you want to include. If you want to do your drivers manually via winnt.sif, then have at it. I think you may be able to get help in the Unattended sub-forum in these forums. John.
  18. nlite+vbox, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini and make sure you do not nLite the same source more than once. Always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Once you have followed these instruction and tried it on VirtualBox, let us know what problems you have. For installing programs, I recommend Windows Post Install (WPI) and there are also AddOns. Both are described and discussed in these forums. Enjoy, John.
  19. exquisite000, I suspect you have not allocated enough memory or disk space to your Virtual Machine (VM). Please show us your VM definitions. Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure you have not run nLite more than once against the same source, always use a fresh copy of your CD files/folders and do all your work in one nLite session. Guest refers to the VM that is running under VMware and Host refers to the system you are running VMware on. Right Click My Computer and select Properties, your system attributes will be shown there. Concerning your number 2 question: please show where you see this. It is not important what order regular drivers are input only text mode and then only if you specify more than one for the same device. BTW, VMware (or any other virtual system) will not test your drivers because your actual hardware is not there, just VM provided virtual hardware. So, VMware does not use you drivers, but a virtual system is the best way to test your ISO before you go to real hardware. Enjoy, John.

    ISO corrupt

sweetslotz, if you have a virtual system (which?), then try installing the ISO and let us know what you learn. Use 7-Zip (or you choice) to extract your ISO and see what comes out. Look in your System Log and see if there are any errors. When you look at your ISO using Windows Explorer, post a screen shot here. Did you try the writing of some files to a CD as I suggested in my last post? Enjoy, John.
  21. HowdyDoody, did you install .NET Framework 2.0 or above? Enjoy, John.
  22. ijwcomp, TranceEnergy has a good idea with the looking for a card with the same chip. I found my NIC driver at the chip manufacturer's site. Another idea is to get a new card. I took a quick look on Newegg and found one right off the bat for $17 from Gigabyte that has x64 support. Enjoy, John. EDIT: I tried an install experiment with the $Progs folder and the file inside went into the Program Files folder. I also tried $Progs (x86) and it went nowhere. Enjoy, John.
  23. ijwcomp, I really like my x64 system, but finding drivers can be a real problem. Perhaps TranceEnergy can help you - seems like he said you could use Vista drivers under certain conditions. When I first built my system (about 3 years ago), I DLed and installed QuickTime and iTunes. They never worked right and iTunes messed up my Optical drive detection. When Apple released an update for QT, when I DLed it, it said not valid OS (or whatever). Apple does no support 64 bit XP. Just another little quirk of our OS. It does not bother me because I have run fine without QT and I don't have an iPod or visit iTunes for any reason. There are certainly alternates to QT and may be one for iTunes. Search the web and see what you can fine .TranceEnergy may be able to help here also. I have used the $OEM$ folder to place several files but not in the Program Files folders. I suggest you get a virtual system to test your ISOs and you can tell us what happens. Enjoy, John.

    ISO corrupt

sweetslotz, what do you mean by won't burn? Do you get an error? If so, what? Can you use your Alcohol to put some files on a CD and see if they are there. Again, perhaps your burner is kaput. Enjoy, John.
  25. mikep56, you did not need to open another topic. As I said before integrate only ONE SP. You should start with a fresh copy of your original CD files/folders and do all your work in one nLite session. Applying multiple SPs is for running systems only. Enjoy, John.
