  1. tempac, I know of no specific MCE guides, but I have seen several posters here working with it with success. I suggest you read the guide on the nLite web site and spend some time reading some posts in this forum. Please make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. I also suggest you look into a virtual system (VirtualBox, VirtualPC or VMware Server - all free) to test the ISOs you build. Enjoy, John.
  2. timminn, I suspect your Windows copy is not legal. Did you pay for it? Did it come with a key and if not what key are you using? You have removed so many files, no wonder things don't work right. You say you have not removed any components, but I don't have any idea what you have removed via [RemoveFiles]. Quit doing that and see what you end up with. Enjoy, John.
  3. Zatar, what makes you think WMP11 runs under W2k when MS says it does not? Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.
  4. meowing, that is exactly when Kurt_Aust's bat runs for me. I specify a user account and when it boots after installation, but before the theme and other things are set, the bat runs. I install several programs and they all work fine. I have not tried IE8, but I would just place it in the bat (updated to run the IE8 installer) and let'er rip. Enjoy, John.
  5. timminn, I don't understand where your source files/folders come from. Did you pay for them? Give us a link so we can take a look. This error comes up when some components are removed (search here for icfgnt.dll). I don't think you have found an nLite error, but have bad source. Please attach (not paste) you Last Session.ini. Enjoy, John.
  6. digitalvynil, if you have done what the others suspect, then we can't help you here. But if not, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. I can't read your screen shots and don't understand your problem. Enjoy, John.
  7. qwertyforsure, your post is quite clear, but I am not. I don't have your x64 equivalent of KB958655 (MS has released a 64 bit version, but it must not come automatically), and still have msi.dll version 4.5.6001.22159. I don't understand how you have Portuguese language in your msiexec. Perhaps - surely - something is going on I don't understand. For instance, maybe msiexec determines the language when it is executing on your host. I ran an experiment earlier today and found that any code with an '09' at the end would direct integrate and any other I tried would not. I set the code to '3409' (English_Philippines). I thought this would be the furthest from US English (all xx09 codes are English, 0409-US) I could get. I made an ISO and installed on VM. The msiexec looked the same as on my host (ENU). Did you check for the Spslpsrm.log file (see my last post)? BTW, nLite 1.4.9.1 has the WMP11 Slipstreamer built in. I just include WMP11 in the hot fix section followed by its updates. Enjoy, John.
  8. meowing, you should also be able to install out of the RunOnce in nLite, using the /Passive and /NoRestart switches. Have a look at this great tutorial, if you have not seen it. Enjoy, John.
  9. timminn, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Also, please use a normal font. See this post. Your missing dll is probably why IE7 does not work. You should be using nLite version 1.4.9.1. In the future, you should really search before you post. Enjoy, John.

    Win2k3 Server

malcy_j, I see that you are running nLite under Vista. This is probably not going to work for Win2k3. If you are slipstreaming an SP, you will VERY likely need to do it under the same OS as your source. You may be able to do other work under a different OS if you use compatibility mode. What winnt.sif changes are you making? In the future, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Enjoy, John.

    Sp1->Sp3

poof, include only one SP, SP3 in this case. The settings (Preset) are in the Last Session.ini (you also need the _u.ini file) file, and yes it is fine to use it on a fresh copy of the source files/folders. Enjoy, John.
  12. ahmay, in the future, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Also, make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.
  13. kof_st, see this article. Hope it helps, John.
  14. I found the x64 version of IE8 RC1 here. It is very slow (about 16 kBS, 30 minutes) unless you pay. Enjoy, John.
  15. asim987345, if you will attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini, we will see if we can help you. Otherwise we don't have a chance. Kelsenellenelvian is correct, mixing methods is only going to cause problems. WMP11 Slipstreamer is built into nLite 1.4.9.1, so you need nothing but nLite to do your job. Enjoy, John.
  16. kof_st, I do not understand your problem. Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.

    Win2k3 Server

malcy_j, are you using nLite? If so, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.

    "NoPassExpSpec"?

OuTmAn, did you un-check the Enable in the Password expiration section of the Users tab of Unattended? I suspect this one. Try checking and see if the NoPassExpSpec goes away. Please let us know what you find. Enjoy, John.
  19. shafeeq, looks OK to me. The only thing I can think of, did you get a good DL? Did it come with a hash code such as MD5? If so, did you check to make sure it was good? Have you tried to make an ISO out of the folder and see if it will install? You would need an ISO builder and CD write SW, because nLite won't recognize your source. I have seen others here having success with VLK source, but I don't know if it was DLed. Let us know, thanks, John.

    "NoPassExpSpec"?

OuTmAn, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. We would like to see your other Unattended parameters. Enjoy, John.
  21. asim987345, in the future, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. I suspect you have run nLite more than once on the same source folder. Enjoy, John. EDIT: Also, please go to a normal font. Thanks, John.
  22. Reboot_IT, if you have further questions, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.
  23. Orchidomegaly, thanks, glad I could help. Enjoy, John.
  24. Orchidomegaly, you are running nLite on a 32 bit system to slipstream a 64 bit system, that is not going to work. Please consider installing nLite into your VM (with x64 installed) and doing you work there. Here is a great tutorial for XP x64 integration. Please note the red print at the top. Enjoy, John.
  25. shafeeq, I am not aware that you can DL Windows from MS. Are you sure this is a legal copy of Windows? Give us a link, so we can look at it. Please post a screen shot of a Windows Explorer view of your folder. Enjoy, John.
