with regards the winnt.sif addition, you have that in you original post, i normally add towards the end of the file. [WindowsFirewall] Profiles = WindowsFirewall.TurnOffFirewall [WindowsFirewall.TurnOffFirewall] Mode = 0 and the reg key is Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 ; Disable Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) Service [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SharedAccess] "Start"=dword:00000004 This i add to my regtweaks.reg file and is called from cmdlines.txt

oemlogo.bmp & oeminfo.ini & they are held in system32 folder
-
ditto, i don't recall seeing one either, hence the numerous typing errors you'll see around here. Would be nice though probably not possible, i don't know
-
i remember seeing this before where people were able to run a script that inserted as a line within the oem section under system properties. it was normally applied via unattended method so all PC's were time stamped and even version stamped so knew which update of there build had been applied. have a search and see what it kicks up

Newbie guide for automate apps install and configuration
oioldman replied to SidB's topic in Application Installs
SidB, you may benefit from reading this guide that will talk you through installing application in silent mode with your mods applied, it mentions 3 main way and all have advantages and dis-advantages, so just play and decide. http://unattended.msfn.org -
i'd agree with the WMP upate, as i thought it was for 10, but then i do install that first in svcpack.inf; "MP10Setup.exe /c:""setup_wm.exe /Q /R:N /DisallowSystemRestore"" /q:A" so they then get applied after it. That's the way mailicious tool was designed and is supposed to run, but i've never downloaded and run anyway.

and also having your SET PP=%CDROM%\ and your keys to be %CDROM%\ means your getting a double \\ which will fail and runonceex.cmd does work whe called cmdlines.txta ccording a couple of other read posts inc; http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=51174&hl=2000 and the last post in particular -
install will just skip over them if i remember. if you check the default .log files in windows dir, what do they say?
-
i'm guessing you have the correct switches applied to them, can't check at present. Also, you might want to make sure the files were corrupted during download so that may help.
-
yes you can create an unattended Windows XP CD that will install all your apps as well and be configured how you wish. Read the Guide it will answer your questions. It's either that or we don't have a clear understanding of your probelm, in which case please try and explain how far you've got, what the error is
-
if those are your genuine keys, please remove.............. Also, you could use just the one key for all machines, as you have the coa for all three so would be covered. (unless i'm wrong)
-
if i understand what you mean, there is a search widget already when you install the Yahoo Widget Engine (aka Konfabulator), you just need to select the engine you want rather than the default Yahoo! one. otherwise, can you please explain better what you are after.
-
if you wish to remove things, i'd recommend you see what nlite can do for you. Ij ust set them to disabled so they're not running and can at least use if i wish to, bit of a pain if files no longer exist

I'm new to Reg tweaks what's wrong with these?
oioldman replied to a topic in Windows Tips 'n' Tweaks
hello, The section CurrentContolSet001 & 002 are backups. They are used if you need to use teh LastKnownGood option minly. I would go to the keys and make the changes and then export them, that way you get it in the correct format. Changes to the registry are instant, you cannot use an undo or exit no save. -
agree with Shark007 - it is a very good program. Solomon, just happened to modify his to personal test and nobody else likes it. She/He could've helped themselves by explaining that it is Directory Opus, and is completely modifyable in same way people use windowblinds or litestep - personal taste people is exactly that.

[how do i] install apps at T-13 / via svcpack.inf
oioldman replied to oioldman's topic in Application Installs
@RogueSpear - you mention that you do prefer to install apps via svcpack.inf - How do you knwo which ones do and don't work? Do you test and see if works or fails? Do you add them to the section with normal install switches? or install via winrar sfx? any advice on how to go about would be appreicated -

Few questions about an unattended DVD
oioldman replied to brnn's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
this url may help with your Office2k3 issue: http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/46/ though not exactly sure what your trying to do. to remove the install folder, if your running a cleanup command to remove unwanted links files etc just add rd /f /s /q %systemdrive%\install and that should be that not sure about your keyboard, sorry -
try here and it mentions them and what is happening at each stage; http://unattended.msfn.org It is also a very good resource for a lot of questions you may have.
-
nelson, you may get what your after by starting here; http://unattended.msfn.org and possibly looking under the Unattended section will improve your hit rate, or even just browse the pages.
