Uh oh... glad that SIB on my computer is just fine. Now I am afraid the only problem here is that I cannot download the new setup from StartIsBack.com any more! Don't know and don't remember what I have changed in the PC settings so it caused such an odd issue. Tihiy, Can you name any coming version like the one you posted yesterday, StartIsBackPlus_setup105, StartIsBackPlus_setup106, etc? Maybe it will help to solve my problem. Thanks for your reply. Wazer, Do you use any other themes or just the default of Windows? I guess a customed theme may affect SIB in some way. (Edit: spelling)

Okay, I'm not good at modifying things related to pictures, icons... The icon I found looks good enough on the taskbar, DosProbie. Thanks anyway for posting the link.

Tihiy, Thanks for the link. I click on it but it seems not to download at all. Do I need to create an account there to get it? I am using Maxthon. Tried to copy the link into IE but it doesn't work either.

Hell! Everyone can get 1.0.5, but I cannot. Never think I could have this silly problem. I've run Disk cleanup twice, also used Uncleaner but it still doesn't help. I've been downloading it with IE, Maxthon, and then Firefox for more than 10 times but what I got is always 1.0.4! Tihiy, can you upload it onto this forum so that I can get it here now? Thanks in advance!

Tihiy, What about my problem? I downloaded SIB+ from here: http://www.startisback.com/#download-tab I try uninstalling the old version but it is the same. Wondering where Rocky could get this 1.0.5. Edit: remove picture

DosProbie, Thanks for the hint. I found this and it looks a little better: http://www.iconseeker.com/search-icon/refresh-cl/system-task-manager.html NoelC, I don't have an iso file to make a bootable Win 8.1 because I upgraded 8 to 8.1 through the store. Now that I have 8.1, I can make a system image with File History and I guess I can restore it using the recovery drive. Never have a chance to try it though! I prefer to use AOMEI Backupper now.

Too bad, it can't be done with the registry! Aero glass makes it nearly impossible to read the text on the title bar if the wallpaper is something dark. And I hate that a lot! Thank you for replying.

MrGrim, Is there any part of the above registry that I can change to remove the ugly box around the text on the title bar in case no aero glass was installed? This box doesn't exist in the default theme of Windows but in all other customized ones. It's dim in some themes, Aero RP for example, but very visible in the others like Snowy, Aero 8... Can I get rid of this annoying box by changing a registry file? If yes, hope it's not too difficult or too complicated to do!

I just removed one of the styles by going into its folder. Still hope it's able to easily delete a style through Appearance option just like when I choose to delete an orb.

Gosh, I've known how it works! The reg tweak adds Task Manager to the context menu when I right click on This PC, right? I thought it would close the modern applications after I ran the reg file! Well, I simply pin Taskmgr.exe (from Windows\System32\) to Taskbar and it works OK for me. It doesn't look nice there, however.

http://www.backup-utility.com/free-backup-software.html I used the above to back up the whole Win 8 before upgrading it to Win 8.1.It has more choices to create a system image. And it works very nice!

Tihiy, Can you make it possible to delete the visual styles in Appearance? The default style and Windows 7 are just the same and I'd like to remove one of them.

I think it's the same as creating a recovery drive. You can access to it by opening Action Center > Recovery. It's the first choice on Advanced recovery tools. You can also go to Control panel > choose view by icons > Recovery. What I don't like most about Win 8.1 is that modern applications are still running after I close them from the start screen. There are some other small changes I don't like either, but I don't think I will go back to Win 8!

I miss Aero 8 by Night since I upgraded to Win 8.1. Now I am using this theme: http://winaero.com/blog/windows-8-release-preview-theme-for-windows-8-rtm/ It's somewhat nicer than the default theme of Windows.

The problem with "Display folders before items" has been fixed. As for the position of the user picture, I've decided to change the sizing option to 125% in display so that it can appear in the right place. Thanks for making this new version. ------------------- Pottzman, The two choices "Don't display" and "Menu" for Administrative Tools work fine for me here.

He is using Win 8.1 so what he wants to try should be StartIsBack Plus, not this version.

Hmm... The folders and items on All Programs will display properly if I stick in "Sort items by name" and "Display folders before items" simultaneously. Why both options have to be chosen at the same time so that it can work fine?

He said "It was caused by steel series software." Maybe he solved the problem by removing this software.

Your theme looks nice, but why you have to use Aero Glass with it. I don't see any transparency on the open windows.

Tihiy, "Display folders before items" doesn't work for me. When I apply this option, the folders still exist but all the other items are gone!
