  1. Thanks for the reply. Already got it back. Btw, it wasn't my fault at all! There is a Delete command next to the Add, so I tried it. I thought if I deleted an orb it would be sent to the Recycle Bin. Don't know that it just disappeared from sight, and I couldn't find it anywhere.
  2. OK, got it. Thanks for replying, Maslow. So far I haven't got anything to complain about SIB except just one small thing! While changing some appearance options I deleted an orb by accident. I don't know how to get it back.
  3. It's strange to know other users can choose where to install SIB. I installed it 2 days ago, and I didn't have an option to select the path. It chose a place to install itself!
  4. Today, Windows Update installed flash player 11.3.375.10 on my computer! It's always installing the old version while Firefox uses a newer one. --------------------- Tsampikos, Flash Player is stored in this folder, for both IE and non IE browsers: Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash You can copy the whole folder to a safe place and then try installing the newer version of flash player as you wish. I get the setup from here if I want to install it manually: http://www.filehippo.com/download_flashplayer_ie/ I have to do some changes as I said in Post #18 on this thread so that the new flash can work fine for me. Andre used to post a link to check the flash version but he deleted for some unknown reason! I'll post it here again: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html You can go there to see whether your IE is using the newest flash player or not.
  5. What version is it, Andre? Last time I installed a beta. It is 11.15. I can't find anything different after I've installed a new version. It seems that W8 RP itself doesn't update flash player any more. I'll have to download and install it manually from now on.
  6. Jaclaz, Many thanks for those links. I'll send them to her now. Perhaps it will take a lot of time for her to get through them all! Thank you both again for all the help. Much appreciated.
  7. Sorry, I posted the above at the same time you edited your post. I'll give you some more information. She is the network administrator. This network is at school. She just doesn't know how to do this copying at her wish! There is a tool she can use to do this but she has to do it one by one. I mean if there is 50 computer clients she has to copy it 50 times! She hopes there is a command that can be used to copy the file to all clients at once. Is the one you gave above a Command Prompt? And can she use it to copy a file from the server to many clients at the same time? I mean she doesn't have to type it to copy a file from A to B, then type it again to copy from A to C, and so on... Thanks a lot for your help. Edit: it's terrible that I made so many mistakes in my writing!!! Have to edit it 3 times in a row!
  8. Hi Ponch, Can you explain it a little more clearly? I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean.
  9. You can go to this link to check if the flash works fine for IE: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html It also has a guidance to install flash player in case you need it.
  10. It's awesome if there is a chance that Explorer 8 with the ribbon can work on W7! Edit: ignore this post, Tihiy! I just want this thread always on the top!
  11. I'll try to explain the situation as clear as I can by this simple example. There are computers A, B, C, D... connected to one another through a workgroup. Computer A is the server. It has both server 2003 and XP. The others (B, C, D...) are the clients and have XP installed on them. Now I am working on computer A and want to copy (or transfer) a file from A to B, C, D... What is the command line to do this copying? I am asking this for my sister, who is not very good at English! Hope someone can help. Many thanks in advance. Edit: spelling
  12. I know why it didn't let me choose the path last time! I had 0.9 as a portable so I only deleted its folder before installing 1.0. Today, (after having 1.0 installed successfully) I tried uninstalling it and ran the setup again. Then, I see that I had no trouble to change the install path at all! Guess Tihiy will be swearing but I don't care!
  13. Andre, Although I let flash player update automatically, it doesn't install the newest version for IE. I happened to find out a solution to fix this. However, I had to do it manually. I downloaded the newest version of flash player and installed them, both for IE and non IE. Firefox used this flash immediately while IE didn't. I went to this folder: Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash Deleted 3 following files (they have older dates than the others): Then changed the names of these 3 files: into the same names as those I just deleted: Now, IE uses the newest flash player and shows the exact version on the Adobe page too. What I really don't understand is that, why it has to be renamed as 11_3_370_178 to work properly on my computer! Edit: delete picture
  14. Thanks. Glad to hear it doesn't. Btw, I think many people will like this Switch shells on the desktop. It's nice.
  15. No Tihiy, I did remove 0.9 before installing 1.0. And I ran the setup while using explorer 8. But because it's the default install directory to have "Switch shells" on the desktop so I leave it that way. I also changed C: to X: in the registry file and "Switch shells" works fine now. Just one more thing. C: is where I have W7. Did the registry I merged last night change anything on drive C? I mean the registry that I hadn't changed its content.
  16. Tihiy, Look at the picture I added to my last post. Edit: Uh oh ... I have W8 on drive X:, does it mean that I have to change all C: in the .reg file to X:? I'll try it again tomorrow and tell if it works then. Thank you for replying.
  17. I feel like cursing sometimes! Why on earth there is always a newer version after I've just intalled a new one? Edit: I haven't cursed anything yet! Why it doesn't allow me to choose the path this time? Edit again: delete picture.
  18. I've just installed the new version. I also try to have Switch Shell but when I click on either choice, nothing happens. Does it work for you, Andre?
  19. Wow, BP. I don't know how he feels after reading your questions, as for me I am a little scared! Let me tell him something simpler. Codien, According to the error message, it seems that the photo you choose to set as the tile is corrupted. Usually I pin an application on the start screen if I want to run it there. Why do you want to pin a picture instead of a program in this case?
  20. OK, then it must have been Windows updates that auto installed the flash and fixed it. It's not the same version you posted on the first post though.
  21. Don't know what fixed the problem and when it was fixed. I've just used IE and Maxthon (IE) to go to that Adobe page and I can see the running ball with both. However, it says the flash version is 11.3.370.203! Firefox and Maxthon (Chrome), on the other hand, still say I have version 11.4.402.278. How strange!
  22. Good, it's not a beta any more. Thanks for the new version.
  23. Tomasz, I changed the browser mode and I couldn't see the flash on that page. It's OK, however, because I rarely use IE. It's funny that I used to think the button to change the browser mode was to switch between a fast and a slow browser!
  24. Sorry for interrupting. I thought enabling Hibernation was just something needed for the traces so I only did it on W8 RTM. I enabled it on W8 RP today and now it boots faster. I notice this after I have to shut down my computer and turn it on again. It takes around 25 seconds to boot into the desktop. Yet, I don't know why it isn't fast when I restart Windows.
  25. Wow, I first know this after using Maxthon 3 for a long time! I see a button on the address box and try switching the mode. It works weird! Some ads appear and some images on this page are blocked! Thanks for explaining it, Tomas.
