  1. Used http://www.xxcopy,com as this worked for same problem (as could not get any VirtualWare to WORK!)
  2. Sesp3.0b3 workin' with mdiecu 2.1e and mdcu3.0e in 98SE,yet not with mdiecu2.2 as mdiecu2.2 backdates some IE-Iexplore files even auto-patcher cannot cure this ailment ....as of yet?
  3. Checked in XPsp3 or RP7 files?....i've seen that .dll somewhere recently ...but not sure where?
  4. Go to www.Intel.com web site ...there's an archive section as i use it always as have even older drivers than these you have listed ....and they are genuine "INTEL"...too!Intel drivers with Intel cards, etc.;is always best!
  5. Look in some archives there is a 7.10 boot ,just like you are trying to create ....just you'll have to see if it's USB compatible .....There was a couple of web sites dedicated to Old Win and Dos files only....for 98SE and before.Possibly you could Slipstream Usb into the Dos7.10 Image ...it's worth a try???
  6. Thanks for IE CU info as my system went "Really" crazy after MDIECU 2.2 and it was normal after Complete Re-install without 2.2 and stuck to older MDIECU2.1a......COOL! So we should re-add 950759 ,after using mdiecu2.2...then it would re-update backdated files...Correct??? thanks
  7. Just stating Auto-patcher works better when use older Sept2007 Application First ...then apply newer ones...At least this is how it works on 4 different computers i use with 98SE on a weekly rotation......All have Full 98SE updares and applications from MSFN sources=90% with microsoft=10% orless installs if really necessary!*Just not being confusing just trying to help order of events which installs can be installed in proper order *if we wish to do this on our own? This could and should be listed in a MSFN Topic "Possibly???"Just for everyone's interest at least?oh,well
  8. We should try to put a list of the order of important updaters for occasional visitors so they are easily confused?Such as: WipeHardDrive(if user wishes or after heavy usage of Hdd);then install Win98SE/CDROM-WUPG98-SESP1.5a-SESP2.1a-SESP3.0b2(latest version)-Set up Automatic(TweakUI-control panel) logon before install of AutoPatcher/sept'07,oct'07,dec final'07..........then finish with any personal "tweaks" or programs to use!!! Every little bit helps...sometimes
  9. Click on finish after download of Auto-patcher to start program ,then Type in "M"and follow next prompts to load individual area's of the update modules as your system needs. You can load more later on also if necessary......*You'll catch on as it starts or you'll end up with a lotta stuff you cannot use!You can set your RAM too as this helps speed of your MoBo....***First Know which programs you have installed as this is most useful!Use the MSFN P.M. Messenger :(as Summer keeps peole Busier these days)for help if needed! Instuctions should be in the help files inside A.P. "Really though!"Auto-Patcher for 98SE is more reliable than others as i've tried them all even in other Windows Systems and Windows Versions as the others miss a lot or take longer to update!!!***CLEAN INSTALL is always BEST for system and MoBo...
  10. Will IE7 and/or WMP11 install on a Win2000AdvancedServer Edition with all updates?
  11. Use Caution With IE4 as it may cause w95system to not load properly and Be prepared to Re-install if necessary***This occurred in Win3.1 and Win95 systems with 32mbRam on my PI machines and a 486 too! The Larger the Ram above 32mb=IE4 was okay as it uses a lot of resources........
  12. Look up First Older UBCD 98Files on MDGx's site for versions before 4.6version as these did have better use of showing how to add files and cabs to your own CDROM.....***Also...there was a cab extract or slipstream utility at VM Ryans XP Site which also works in 98SE...i believe?
  13. Did you try Auto-Patcher for Win2000...it works like a charm *better than MS updaters fast for dial-up...too!!
  14. Should we start a new "Topic -which states which Older MoBo's(motherboards)still also "Work" with newer updates and fixes being used almost 10 years later?*As i personnally have "5"Running 1999-2000 MoBo's as of this day...with 1 major upgraded MicronMillenia2000 with256mbRam/500mhz-PIII..... as the largest and newest! Just a thought.....
  15. Hmmm....same thing occurs when booting in Adv.Srv.Win2000 when opening that system on my larger MoBo?This may help with that issue too?
  16. Re-install clean 98Se all updates and *Iexplore still acting wierdly*Lotsa errors and restarts of explorer-so...i re-installed again without MDIECU2.2 and used MDIECU2.1e all was "A"-OKAY...Hmmmmm???Not sure if kex or another app is still the problem or not? ***09july08-MDIECU2.2 works ...but iexplore still phasing out in Internet Explorer with this update added,i re-installed Kex0.3.2a and things got somewhat stable...still somethings fuzzy with Iexplore and message from *MS encounter-ing problems and needs to close issue???This even occurs at this site??? anyothers notice these issues?
  17. Actually Right "idea",yet this is what Auto-patcher does already and it "Still"Repairs my "4"-98SE computers any day and time after bad install from all kinds of other sources good and bad.Updates from Auto-patcher are Thee Best and Better than installing 1-by-1 agreed ***Only wish U.B.C.D.98 was a better and smaller way to create updater like A.P.does?*Sometimes UBCD98 will not fit on a 700mb/disk .(*For Re-install -i keep Win98SE-Cdrom and Auto-Patcher with a few Drivers i need on a Flashdrive and insert after i pre-download a few setup files on clean Hdd;and it basically installs @90% of system for 98SE....then set my own settings after it's done installing and all is well...
  18. Possibly await New Auto-Patcher "Due by end of June'08" this may contain appropriate DX9.0c updates we hope!
  19. Check Format of where you downloaded updates :Fat,Fat16 or Fat32 work best with 98SE..if not then thats where to find first problems with updates ....it's not in updates themselves, but which system is used when downloading them...*i had same problem when i Downloaded 98SE on friends XP-based computer and to go to local library as my internet connection had modem problems.Actually Win2000 i had no problems as its more compatible with Fat for some reason unknown to me? *TRY to find a good Download Manager as it speeds up download process!
  20. MD-the new MDIECU2.2 backdates something not sure what ....???,but Iexplore goes whakko until i re-run autopatcher dec07final and re-install MDCU3.0 ...then all seems okay for now....just thought i'd let ya know.......*Kex0.3.4 okay with MDCU3.0,and MDIECU2.1,and Sesp2.1a and uberskin 8.2.5 (FF3+FlashPlayer10 runnin' good too!)...thydreamwalker
  21. Already just done that-now wish to test upgrading from Win95A to 98, so as to learn for myself :changes in progamming and etc.,etc.;...see this was what i meant by learning to upgrade different systems -"i just accidentally over formatted" instead of "Up-grading as i intended to do and save my 95A-files in a secure 7zip folder on Hdd'...... and my sole 95A files dsappeared forever more ......but,thanks anyway
  22. "PLEASE!!!! Wait for RP8* as it looks it'll well be worth thee Wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
  23. IE6-SP1 already installed ???,correctly?? as Iexplore can mess up A.P. installs..... Check Connections too! One cable may be outta line "just enough" to mess up shut-down/restarts
  24. Just'a sugesstion:stick to 98SE fundamentals;Especially Dos, and then move upwith each new update or add-on pack (like auto-patcher does where they would install on top of an older pack "with an uninstall feature or option to install if user wishes to use or not to use?")Check EULA's Carefully and add notice of EULA breakage so user knows what they are getting ,so its thier choice not yours! Then there is not the legal entanglements *this project will take alotta effort.Wish ya all luck! Win98SE deserves the BEST WE Have To Offer It!!! thydreamwalker@yahoo.com
  25. Found Original "OEM (%A";but accidentally over wrote it when tring to use Win95C to add newer files.Win95A was "Slim" better than 95C would like to find another copy of Win95A(34mb floppy install or cdrom install "oem")as to 'Archive to my files...to use on and off'.Wishing for a Lucky Star?
