  1. External usb/parallel port cdrom drive will compensate for no cdrom after drivers are installed-if you need be or network share through another computer?
  2. Same problem with W2K Server ....it has to do with a newer update?...i think?as all was well until new flash and March updates were installed 1-2 weeks ago!
  3. Kex4.0rc1= Great........RUNDLL32.EXE......a little fast and shaky?
  4. Win98SE with RP9!!! Works "Better"thanW2k:Hey is Kernel4 a W2k or XP derivative as my Win2K Apps are workin' on 98SE "Really WELL";better than on my W2k System? <or linux............... >
  5. Thanks ,All KexKernels keeps 98SE ALIVE and Surviving!!!
  6. LighthousePuppy4.1.2B4 Mariner(Voy4.1.2B4-addon sfs) may compete with Microsoft; Sooner than expected!!!Looks Great on old and newer MoBo's of all various types of x86 class/systems and system fits on a cdrom with Opera10,Firefox3.0.6,etc.,etc. Do not own a x64 class/MoBo; so do not know if works with Amd/systems??? GO PUPPY LighthousePup-412-b4_Mariner.iso
  7. create a "widget style side bar" for 98SE"Ultimate2009"-good luck
  8. check monitor settings;and/or display setings control panel area?as some cards are compatible in 98SE and some are not with 2 dual monitors set-up.
  9. 98Se only sees one core if you are running "Dual-core" system?
  10. If Nothing Else Works=set bios to "Default" and set Motherboard jumpers to reset ,then set them back after Bios boots and resets to factory settings:"Careful" PentiumIII-550's are picky as they need Ram and Power to run as i have one with 640mb/MemoryRam (which helps a lot)250-350watt output powersupply too.
  11. Are you using Auto-Patcher Dec2008?It will install updates for WMP9( and WMP10/11 if Memory Ram is 192mb,cpu=233mhz :at least) <WMP=WindowsMediaPlayer>*Auto-Patcher98 is found in MSFN Forum TRY Mdgx's Updates as they may be easier to download !
  12. Wouldn't a re-boot just work as well, then safely remove drive device as just before system fully kicks into gear-it works on my usbflashdrives
  13. Tried any "Linux media players" with same files to test by chance?Just a thought If your Memory rams good enough ;Wmp10/11 with Mdgx's updates in Auto-Patcher Dec'08 should work?
  14. Set Printer/lpt1 to print directly to your printer and don't let it go to spooler (test timeoutsec's,as may be too long) Karen's DirPrint.exe or Printkey.exe add ons (and works in Dos)comes from Auto-Patcher Module-as this may be helpful too
  15. Try putting 64mb ram at 0 slot:-64/128/128;and/or check Direct x,to check if drivers are final version for 98SE system? good luck(Wise RegistryCleaner3,AvastVirus4.8?)
  16. Auto-Patcher98 :Has a System Tweaks Module so you can Tweak Safely and it uninstalls if problems arise in future hmmmmmmmm
  17. Try installing a Usb/Modem driver for Win98SE (even if you don't need or use it:);as this increased my Usb transfer connectivity and My "Old" Motherboard always thought i was connected to internet by Default and it transfered files as so. Everything Usb has Best drivers for Belkin related Devices too
  18. @Soporific:Hey, i tried(x,xxx,xxx,xxx-times to install Dec2007Final after 98SE CdRom ;but there always needs to be some "Older Appl's and Updates(which are in Dec2007 version, but install from the Oct2007 version-Better?)". Be sure all your MoBo's Drivers(Audio,Vga,Ethernet...,etc.) are installed first, before any "Updates!".And it's always a lot "Quicker" to set TweakUI 1.33 into Auto-login Mode,if you login on your computer=45minute install
  19. i think it maybe better compatible with AMD MoBo's Only???(not just XP?/ or Vista?) i like an old Ati Radeon7000ddr card myself it's so simple to configure Check Memory requirements:video vs.all other programs for any Extreme Ram Usage
  20. Does your USB need it's own additional Power to Run better through Usb Port???Check Manufacturers Website-as my Usb Hdd pulls a lotta resources/energy to run correctly;if i don't attach proper cord made for it ,it runs sluggish;and when i notice to do it properly, it just flies. (*FreeAgentGoUsb250GB/SeagateHdd)
  21. "Gold-plated case(with diamonds for writing on the hdd)" would be nice too Is the Usb Hub (powered or not?). As my External UsbFreeAgentGo/250gb is connected to my Usb MoBo outlet Direct as possible at Home. *When i'm on the Road; i use a Sturdy Usb2.0BelkinCable and Carry along UsbHub to keep a more Secure and Accurate file transfer
  22. Did ya push it over the hill? the pinto-i mean Seriously i have a 250GB SEAGATE FreeAgent"GO" and it flies with Belkin USB cables and it goes dirt slow with any Usb-Cable of a lesser value???***With 5 Partitions 98SE;win2kAdvSrv,linux(Kubuntu/Xubuntu8.10) and an open drive for storage and lastly an open drive for a new "system from ???;files fly from w2k;win98se or where ever as quickly as the ram allows
  23. Make sure to use a "Belkin2.0-USB"cable on your external Hdd , it'll save time transfering files and acts like a Usb2.0 on a Usb1.0 It may take a day(at least) ,if you are organized with transfers of your files
  24. UBUNTU.???(NOT TRIED YET!)..,XUBUNTU(GNOME)-O.K....,OR ALAS KUBUNTU(KDE)-KOOL!....AS FOR ALL 8.10 i386 DESKTOPS:I LIKE XUBUNTU FOR pII-350/384MBRAM;BUT NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE QUALITY OF KUBUNTU ON A pIII-500/512MBRAM MoBo
  25. Not "SURE" why Java1.5.0.16 is reading "Large=950mb!"-as it doesn't really take up that much space???Decieving though, huh???(Its really only about 370mb's with JRE+JDKfiles)
