  1. Since you've found that installing with no drivers works fine and using all the drivers fails, why don't you try to start with no drivers and add one group of drivers at a time until you find which group of drivers is creating the problem. Then pull out half of that group at a time and keep narrowing it down until you are able to find out what is going on. Yes it will take a little while, but since nothing else has worked ... Once you figure out WHAT is causing the problem, then it might become more obvious WHY and what you can do to fix it. Cheers and Regards
  2. The reason for the rule is that we have no way of knowing what restrictions on getting help with a project/assignment that a teacher might have imposed. So rather than needing to trust the "No, really, the teacher said I could get all the help I wanted!" type of statement, the rule was made to try to be fair and yet not give inappropriate assistance and help someone cheat. Cheers and Regards
  3. Maybe it's my eyes, (or your monitor?), but I don't see what you are seeing. It looks perfectly fine to me. OK I finally see it. For those that can't, right click the image and open the image in a new tab, then zoom in and look closely along the right and bottom edges of the image. I had to zoom to 300% to most easily see it. I use the browser SWIron - http://www.srware.net/en/software_srware_iron.php a version of Chrome which made this easy. Anyway, I don't know if it's supposed to be there or not. Cheers and Regards
  4. And different people will have different hosts files they will prefer to use. It can also be changed easily once the system is installed, so putting it in the SP doesn't make sense to me. Cheers and Regards
  5. Thanks for the resource link - http://acronyms.thefreedictionary.com/ - jaclaz. I should have used that instead of Google. It also should have been obvious since OT and BOT are usually used as a "matched set" Cheers and Regards
  6. Welcome to the MSFN. However as a 20 y/o IS college student in the US you should know better than to use, much less discuss, illegal copies of a Windows OS or any illegal copy of any software program. I'm not sure what this says about your future in this field if this behavior continues or if you condone such activities. Cheers and Regards
  7. OT is usually "Off Topic" when used here on this forum. I'm not familiar with BOT, nor did anything leap out at me searching for it with Google. Cheers and Regards
  8. And which features of a program that hasn't even been posted about in five years do you think are important to add to this one that is constantly being updated and talked about? Cheers and Regards
  9. Sorry, you will get no help for this here. In fact you will get only one warning. Any "free" image of any Windows OS is considered warez, or stolen, and no mention or discussion of any such item will be tolerated. Links will be deleted and repeated posts of this type will result in your being banned from this forum. Cheers and Regards
  10. Agreed. Individuals can add their own host file if they want. It should not be added to any pack for any version of any OS. Cheers and Regards
  11. I wish that BlackWingCat and WildBill were able to work together to improve and extend each other's kernel rather than have "competing" products with no defined functional difference as I currently understand it. I realize that language and distance makes it difficult to work together on a single project, but it seems that could be an idealized goal. The work of tomasz86 seems to be a great "proving ground" to find incompatibilities between the two. Cheers and Regards
  12. Also without looking at the second attempt, a comment I would make is that tweaks, etc from a gaming website are often focused more on speed and responsiveness rather than overall general purpose software compatibility. Could you point us to the exact tweaks etc on that site you used? If nothing else, like Sp0iLedBrAt I would suggest getting a more "full-featured" install working with all the software that you want to use, then gradually slim the install down until things start breaking. Then you would have a better idea what you can't remove. Cheers and Regards
  13. While I understand that WAIK can be installed on computers running XP, I have also seen where there often seems to be issues using an image created by WAIK installed in that way. Legolash2o is probably going to have to drop support for XP in his Windows 7 Toolkit for that reason. Have you tried putting WAIK on a Win7 machine, creating your images there, then only using the XP machine to share the images out? (Unless I misunderstood what you are doing.) If that works, then at least you would know where you need to focus on fixing the problem, IF it can be fixed. Cheers and Regards
  14. OK Thanks! Cheers and Regards
  15. Sorry Ponch. Long day and too tired. Cheers and Regards
  16. @Gora, Thanks! Is there a handy link to the list of all the built-it variables and their definitions? Cheers and Regards
  17. It's fixed now. Or I had just done something stupid - not discounting that possibility. LOL Anyway, if someone did fix something - Thanks! Cheers and Regards
  18. Does the board not have the latest TZ update installed? Because here on the US East Coast, even with the correct TZ selected and the DST option selected the board clock is an hour off. Cheers and Regards

But yes you can skip SP2 on a running system. Cheers and Regards
  20. I agree with tomasz86. No matter if you are backporting from Win 7 or using an app from a different manufacturer, you are still adding a "foreign" program to your OS - one that was not originally intended by MS to be used with Vista, so where do you see the difference? At least with AquaSnap it is a program that is intended to be used with Vista, so appropriate testing should have been done. Insisting on using a program from MS in a case like this doesn't make as much sense to me. Cheers and Regards
  21. Start over. Cheers and Regards
  22. Well if you've got it working on an untouched XP, then start disabling the services that you removed in the nLited build ONE AT A TIME until you find which service that breaks it. Cheers and Regards
  23. I don't know regarding which specific services that Diskeeper needs, but you can refer to Black Viper's site for safe services suggestions - http://www.blackviper.com/ Cheers and Regards
  24. Have you installed the LAN driver into WinPE for your network card? I haven't seen a WinPE yet that has one automatically included that is compatible with all LAN cards. Cheers and Regards
  25. You also should not post sn/keys for ANY app here on this forum. Cheers and Regards
