  1. I believe it means "ALL" USB devices. Cheers and Regards
  2. Good job, Larry! For what it's worth, in this case, even at my default screen resolution, I seem to see the red pulsing letters BETTER than the blue, and yes they show up as bright red. I'm not sure why, maybe a contrast thing? Sometimes the blue letters almost look like they skip a letter, though I know that is not the case, I even checked by enlarging the image, while I see the red on every letter. The "eyes" will play tricks on everyone at times, with color blindness having nothing to do with it. Whatever the reason, you were successful. Cheers and Regards
  3. You might want to detail your SW install procedures, then we'll just have to see if anyone can duplicate or further improve upon your results. Cheers and Regards
  4. Since others have not had your success, in fact have seemed to have had utter failure, would you mind, in excruciating detail, explaining what you used, HW & SW, where you got the software with name, version, and links if possible, what order you installed things HW & SW, etc to see if anyone else can duplicate your efforts? I do realize it might be very hardware specific, so everyone's experience might be different, but so far it has seemed this is too problematic to include for everyone, since it has broken things, unless you have been able to find a method that no one else has until now? The results you describe seem to be the way it is intended to work. Cheers and Regards
  5. They must be working on it, because it loaded OK for me earlier. (I get the white page too right now.) Cheers and Regards
  6. I assume "the insert USB devices one at a time" rule only applies to the first time? Once all the devices have been correctly identified, then you can leave everything plugged in for subsequent reboots ? Cheers and Regards
  7. @Kurt_Aust, I thought that the purpose of the work of BWC, Wild Bill, and tomasz86 was to try and add back both the security and the utility that you are talking about Win2K losing over the years. Don't you see it that way? And I thought your guide was a pretty general purpose one for anyone who wanted to continue using Win2K for whatever reason. That's why I have been encouraging tomasz86 to get in touch with you to combine your work. Maybe I had misunderstood something along the way. Cheers and Regards
  8. I'm not arguing your conclusions in the slightest, I'm just having a little trouble with the math. At US minimum wage of $7.25 /hr x 40hrs/week x 52 weeks/year = US$15,080.00 per year gross income, assuming no vacation. I'm not sure where you got "US$3132.00 per year". If the Brazilian yearly income at minimum wage is really just "US$4810.00 per year", then the comparative situation is even worse that you were portraying it, especially after you factor in the Big Mac Index and the Gini Coefficient. Cheers and Regards
  9. In the US, when you talk about minimum wage, it's usually expressed in US$/hour gross, ie before withholding taxes, Social Security, insurance, etc. According to http://www.dol.gov/dol/topic/wages/minimumwage.htm the current US federal minimum wage is "$7.25 per hour effective July 24, 2009" gross, though it can vary from state to state ($5.15 - $9.04) So when you say "Minimum Wage (net) for Brazil: US$329.00", that's not US $ per hour obviously. But if that is net US$/week, at 40 hours per week, then net US$329.00 is equivalent to net US $8.23/hour, which looks pretty good if I understood you correctly. But of course if the cost of living is three times what it is in the US, food, housing, gas, PC parts, etc, then that's not so good. But at any rate, it seems wee need some clarification of net vs gross and time frame and verification that we're talking US $ to be sure were comparing apple to apples as best we can. The Big Mac Index indicates that it takes, as a national average, 50% more to purchase a Big Mac in Brazil vs the US, while the Gini Coefficient, if I understood it correctly, says that there is a greater disparity between the wealthy and the poor in Brazil than there is in the US. Combined, it seems to indicate indeed that life is harder in Brazil for the average "middle class" person than those of us in the US appreciate. Cheers and Regards
  10. Can you post some pictures showing the problem, both in "good" and "bad" states? Cheers and Regards
  11. You're just using an old version of 7-zip that doesn't support one of the current standard compression formats that 7-zip now uses, and has for over a year now I think. Get a version of 7-Zip that is 9.20 or greater and you'll be fine. You'll need it eventually anyway, so don't fight it. Cheers and Regards
  12. So what do you think you ARE looking for? Cheers and Regards
  13. I like it Larry! But, and I know this is such a broken record that this is the absolute last time I will mention any problem I have with seeing any visual effect you add to any image, I can't see the pulsing at my default monitor resolution. But this time I believe it's more a matter of size than color. If I magnify the image by as little as 110% I can begin to see the effect and at 125% I can see it clearly. But really, I do like it. I can really see you put a lot of work into the image to honor your favorite character. Good job! Cheers and Regards
  14. Dumb question - if you don't have a drive letter assigned to the drive, how do you address it? And why would you NOT want the drive to have a drive letter? I'm confused. Cheers and Regards
  15. @tomasz86, it seems that until you are able to put together a complete SP6 type pack together, you'll need to have a step-by-step posted somewhere that people can reference showing what they need to install, and in what order, if they want to end up with that type of result, showing what is required, what tools to use with what settings where appropriate, what the options are and what they do for you, etc. You might have already done this before, but I can't put my finger on it at the moment. Yes I know there will be choices and options and as you pull more of the resources together the steps might change, but right now I'm sure that folks that haven't used your stuff before can easily get confused. I also realize that as long as your work is structured to be used with HFSLIP, which I like a lot don't get me wrong, it will probably never be able to be combined into a single all-encompassing pack such as what Onepiece put together. I guess that's one of the reasons that I suggested possibly working with Kurt_Aust to lay out a start to finish How To guide that folks can follow. Cheers and Regards
  16. Does it matter the installation order? I would have thought the kernel should be installed before UR2, but maybe it doesn't matter. Cheers and Regards
  17. So you were able to fix your issue by editing the registry as described? And does your Print Spooler function correctly? Cheers and Regards
  18. Thanks. Sounds like your method, while proven, is not for the beginner. Cheers and Regards
  19. Regarding Cyndi Lauper, many people thought that she would end up more successful than Madonna, who came on the scene around the same time. Just goes to show that marketing unfortunately often beats talent. Cheers and Regards
  20. This might be a dumb question, but if you compare the files in the embedded standard template to the files in the standard full install.wim and removed the differences, how is that different than just installing the embedded OS to begin with? Why go to all the extra work? What does that get you as an advantage? Sorry for not quite "getting" this, but it sounds intriguing enough for me to ask for clarification, and I know you have a reputation for being good with slimming, Kullenen_Ask, so you're the guy to ask. Cheers and Regards
  21. @Tripredacus, he said he specifically did not want to do it that way. Cheers and Regards
  22. I also see you're asking Legolash2o to explain how WinKit does it, which is fine. But don't you think you need to verify that WinKit's method works first for your driver and theme? Try it. You don't have to keep it if you don't want to. Cheers and Regards
  23. Since you're running out of ideas, you might want to give WinKit a try. I understand that you want to do it by hand, and that's fine. But if WinKit can't do it either, then that might point to there being a more basic problem involved. If WinKit is successful, then you just need to figure out what exactly WinKit did that you need to replicate by hand to be able to accomplish the task without using 3rd party tools. But so far, you keep asking the same questions that no one else has been able to solve either. So lets find a way that works, then see about doing the same task in the manner that you wish. Or, if you just can't bring your self to use a third party tool at any time, then Tripredacus told you how he does it, without using 3rd party tools, with the minor inconvenience of leaving the personalize window open at first boot. At least if you're able to somehow make it give you the theme you want, you'll have proof that it can be done, and you'll have a backup plan in place if for some reason you're unable to do it any other way. Cheers and Regards
