  1. @heinoganda: Sorry to take so long to notice it, but what do you mean by "To Reset the antivirus update engine ........... (RAUE)" ??? What key is <RAUE> ?
  2. I do. What USB related options do the BIOS offer, and how are they set?
  3. Try it, already! It should just work.
  4. I hate to recommend this, but... do please clean reinstall: whatever has happened surely was a mega-janfu, I'm really sorry to say.
  5. If you look closer, you'll see they fell back to 8 (and may then have decided to update to 8.1, when feasible, this helping compensate the bleeding of 8.1 machines hijacked by MS to 10 from poor clueless users, by their more agressive recent campaign).
  6. Problems with Beta Archive should be solved at Beta Archive.
  7. <OffTopic>BTW, glnz, what happened to your avatar? You really should set one again... it does help identify who's posting at a glance, you know. Just my 2 ¢, of course!</OffTopic>
  8. It's sad, but true: Moonchild's latest statement (on Sat Jun 25, 2016, at the Pale Moon Forum) about it is quoted below, just for the record. It sure is a pity.
  9. What I do like about the Raspberry Pi 2 is precisely that: it's a standard hardware, well documented, unix enabled and delivers a lot of bang to the buck!
  10. Speed-up Secure Sanitizer?
  11. Well, I'm sure thinking of a colectively-mantained, but moderated, blacklist, accessible from the net as needed. But not exactly cloud-integrated. The clouds are the place for Little Wing, solely. And rain, maybe. But not for reliable data, of course!
  12. Sure. And I do think it may even be intended to. But I'm considering it may be buggy in its FAT-32 support, because it's probably untested with anything bigger than 32GB, if I do understand how the minds of those poor-fellows-that-pass-as-programmers-at-MS-nowadays work.
  13. Well you can do it with fat32format, but my idea was to convert the partition to NTFS, not re-format to FAT-32. BTW, they have a GUI version, too.
  14. I have had six 931 GiB FAT-32 partitions for 2 years already and no issue at all, but the newest OS my machine runs is 7 Ultimate SP1 x64. Last month I converted one of them to NTFS, in order to set-up a VirtualBox, because I needed a place in which to host filles bigger than 4 GiB (the .VHDs).
  15. IMHO, a Raspberry-Pi is a quite good place to locate an external firawall (and maybe a DNS, too), because it would be sitting between the provider and the router and run a non-MS OS, while protecting every device in a LAN, at the same time.
  16. We XP users are next, for sure! But we won't go down without a fight!
  17. BTM, anyone here has any experience with Pi-Hole? Wouldn't it be interesting to block those meddlesome MS addresses? Your thoughts?
  18. Not so sure... pumps with stiletto heels higher than 5" sometimes do wreak havoc on IIS...
  19. I'm clueless here, since I've got very little experience with 8.1 (but more than with 10, which, for me is nil): I guess 8.1 desn't expect any FAT-32 device to be much larger than 32GiB... Why? Because MS has more script kiddies than real programmers, nowadays. So, I recommend convering your big partition to NTFS. Maybe RLoew can find what's wrong, though. Try PMing him about it.
  20. Welcome to MSFN! You'll find a lot of answers for XP-related questions already here, and if not, do post about it, that you'll have a good chance of getting it answered.
  21. And there is a sister NAG for plain vanilla 7 (viz. non-SP1) and 8.0, which was released as KB3163589, too!
  22. Locked on Rule #1a. You sure you read the Rules?
  23. @jaclaz: Never mind: it's just another thread hijack by Dibya... @Dibya: Would you please kindly stop hijacking other threads to vent your prospective software plans? Thank you.
  24. Done! Thanks for the heads up!
  25. Hrm... I also read somewhere "100 Billion Flies Can't Be Wrong"... Care what you believe in!
