You should try Philip K. Dick... particularly: "Flow my Tears, the Policeman Said!".

Foreign language? There's not a single word not in English in the thread jaclaz pointed you to. Which would be perfectly useless, because DiskMod is a free program by Karyonix, available exclusively from the thread jaclaz pointed you to.

Ain't she great? I think she's way better nowadays than at the time of the Runaways... though she was plenty good then, already. The Eagles - Hotel California This one is not a cover, but maybe the definitive rendition of a great classic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYf4kqnAWos

MS Office 2007 Compatibility Pack with Office 97
dencorso replied to dencorso's topic in Microsoft Office
GIFIMP32.FLT v. 2003.1100.8165.0 will work OK on 9x/ME, but the File Format Converters themselves (conversion from .docx to .doc, etc.) don't work on 9x/ME at all. They sure do on 2k, XP and 2k3, though. -
MS Office 2007 Compatibility Pack with Office 97
dencorso replied to dencorso's topic in Microsoft Office
And the subsequent updates to MS Office 2007 Compatibility Pack continued to work with Office 97, under Windows XP SP3, until recently. Now there is an issue: GIFIMP32.FLT v. 2003.1100.8327.0, from KB2289163 refuses to import GIFs for Office-97! The work-around for it is to fall back to the previous version, which is: GIFIMP32.FLT v. 2003.1100.8165.0, from KB921598, which is the last one known for sure to work with Office-97. Both updates remain available from MS... However they do contain .msp files that 7z cannot open, but MsiX can (so the latest Universal Extractor also should). Among the extracted contents of one of the .msp files there is one .cab file from which one can extract the sought-after GIFIMP32.FLT file. -

Modified SYSDM.CPL 4.90.3001 for 98SE

Nirsoft WinExplorer allows one to change in memory the already running program. While it does not allow one to change the executable in the disk (which would then be permanent) it sure allows one to easily test Drugwash's idea and confirm whether it works as intended. [off topic] yes, I love split infinitives... they remind me of watching Star Treck on TV[/off topic] -
+1 Moreover, for my 98SE system at least, .NET breaks windows search.

One example is: KB2724197 MS blabing mumbo-jumbo about 'security', but said nothing that it would impact EMS availabilty on NTVDM. Well, the previous "security" update, KB2707511 already caused NTVDM to crash on opening a pipe, an issue that hasn't been fixed. Since security updates are cumulative, KB2724197 must have both issues. Now, ain't those latest updates really awesome?

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts - Crimson & Clover A respectable cover, but still not quite better than the original one by good old Tommy James and the Shondells...

Way to go! That's how it's done.

Sure , I know, the IPad and the blackberry do the same and it is considered (by me and a few other people around) a form of "netiquette" to remove it as it: senselessly "promotes" the device/application (and you don't get any money for it) could (though this is specifically not the case for a Lumia 900 ) cause a sense of "envy" to the readers that would like (but cannot afford) a "desirable" item I like: Ex nominis expers supertabula mea missa. It does not "promote" anything except, perhaps, the use of macaronic Latin. I sometimes add it to my replies to e-mails sent from any of those ipso-omphalocentric mobiles.

Well... XP Mode is real XP in a VM... so that's the best of two worlds, in a way, isn't it?

Can't install IE6 vanilla or SP1 on Win2k sp4
dencorso replied to subhuman's topic in Windows 2000/2003/NT4
Such an installer for ie sp1 never was released by MS, AFAIK, all that exists, officially, is that horrible downloder... and some unofficial repositories. Which language are your OSes in? Spanish? -
I forgot to say MS Paint can't rotate an image in arbitrary values; only common degrees, like 90 and 180. IrfanView is free and it can rotate an image by any arbitrary number of degrees and tenths... But one should avoid repetitively rotating bitmaps, because it causes very fast quality degradation (see: Denis Roegel (2009), The eroding rotation: Why digital pictures should not be rotated)... Here is one case where testing, then clicking undo then testing a new value, until the best/correct value is reached is the best strategy.

It ticks me off, too, for Tihiy's sake. Nah, they're helping him out. He will just make it stronger and stronger. The only version that matters is final and they won't hack that. They only hack beta to preserve it. Sez Who?

Why not hoard and keep multiple spares of (cheaper as time passes) compatible hardware parts?

@JorgeA: With all due respect, "safe" is to have a known-good, ready-to-be-deployed, full backup. All else is not safe.

A well-placed to the back of the machine always works, without need to open the case, though... But have in mind the CD/DVD, as well as the crumbles from the tray, are usually ejected very forcefully through the front by this method...
