  1. OT : This must have set you back a small fortune, hasn't it? High-End H/W is constantly on the rise here price-wise, due to 1. shortage of rare-earth metals (and other semiconductors) used inside electronics chips 2. exorbitant rises in energy costs (natural gas, electricity, petrol, etc.) - in part due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict - which is reflected in elevated production/transportation costs ... A laptop of those specs can easily cost something near (or above) the neighbourhood of 1,000 Euros here, when the average (monthly) salary is considerably below that ... Take good care of your high-performance laptop, then...

  2. Hi, Check that the settings you want to change are recommended in Arkenfox.user.js: https://github.com/arkenfox/user.js/releases/tag/68.0 All right? Best regards.

  3. Yes, and that was the reason why I replied with No. I will stay on my old, slow, and beloved computer, of course. More recent hardware, more recent OS which means no Windows XP on that computer. Unfortunately, that is exactly the real problem. On new hardware, old OSes are nonsense. Old OSes can't really handle new hardware which they are not developed for. That's the truth! Here in this forum are a lot of people trying to install Windows XP, or much worse, Windows 98, on a brand new machine. Nonsense, unfortunately! But, each to his own, a second time today! We all can do what we want to. Even if it doesn't make any sense at all!

  6. Hello @XPerceniol! Here are my settings in Mypal 68 referring to canvas: As far as I can see, our settings are identical. Whether changing these settings have a real effect, I don't really know. especially due to the development state of this browser. Trial and error is presumably the game, or a statement of its developer @feodor2. Hope I could help you a bit!

  9. So great you stopped by, and I just used the user js and only had to change a few things to my personal liking. I haven't run into a movie or video game yet that isn't working just fine thank toMypal 68. user_pref("general.buildID.override", "20100101"); user_pref("general.oscpu.override", "Windows NT 10.0"); user_pref("general.useragent.compatMode.version", "102"); user_pref("general.useragent.override", "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win32; x86; rv:102.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/102.0");

  10. OT, too! This morning I looked at a brochure from ALDI and there, in the online shop, they offer a gamer laptop with 1 TB SSD, 32 GB RAM, Intel Core i7 12700H and NVIDIA Geforce 3070 Ti laptop GPU with 8 GB GDDR6 VRAM for 2299.- €. No neighbourhood of 1000 Euros! ALDI?

  11. This is indeed correct - most UXP-based browsers are now natively supported in palefill's install.rdf file; it's only Serpent 55 that isn't: https://github.com/martok/palefill/issues/25#issuecomment-1157015223 @Mathwiz is mainly using St55, so perhaps got confused and assumed this is still the case for UXP-based browsers ...

  12. Thank you for locating it for me. Yes, I've read it now and will leave network.security.esni.enabled;false (default) and will disable (both) network.http.altsvc.enabled;false (defaults - true) network.http.altsvc.oe;false (default - true [FF 78 disabled]) After reading this: https://forums.informaction.com/viewtopic.php?t=20682 Also, I've been surfing as usual and not having issues with: network.http.spdy.enabled;false Will let you all know whats going on and hope everyone is enjoying this Sunday EDIT: So, not using Doh, will in turn leave: network.trr.mode;0 (default) network.trr.resolvers;[{ "name": "Cloudflare", "url": "data:text/plain," }] I will change that string to no value (empty string or localhost).

  13. This isn't true ; with the last (semi-)official release (v.1.2.19) of github-wc-polyfill prepared by SeaHOH, the GitLab link posted has no problem fully loading in my latest Serpent 52 copy (manual modification of 1.2.19's install.rdf is required to allow installation in St52): NB that SeaHOH has abandoned further development of github-wc-polyfill, but our own @roytam1 has provided (at least two) updated XPIs for it in below "upstream" issue #68 thread: https://github.com/JustOff/github-wc-polyfill/issues/68#issuecomment-1218104421 So one should install v1.2.19.2 now to keep up with GH's shenanigans ... OT: MSFN's post/comment editor is overly problematic today, I find ...

  14. Hello, @XPerceniol! The article about DNS over HTTPS (DoH) I read was linked by @NotHereToPlayGames and very informative. I couldn't find it last night because it was in this thread here. Read it and you know what I mean! DoH, no way! Cheers, AstroSkipper

  15. When I installed the latest version 1.19 of Martok's palefill add-on in NM, I didn't have to modify install.rdf to allow its installation. Same for the version before. He changed it in the past. Or does he want to revert his modifikations?

  17. @XPerceniol! Forget about "dns over https"! It is not as secure as it seems. I read an article about it, and this technology is immature! PS: Sorry for mentioning @VistaLover! My editor in my browser got totally crazy. It didn't react and deleting didn't work, either. I clicked more times, and suddenly, there was @VistaLover!

  22. Hello @thomasxxx! Thanks a lot for posting a new solution! You see very easy to post here. One recommendation for further posting. Use bold text and font size 18 for the headline only due to a better visibility! When someone reads your post, the headline stings you right in the eye and the reader knows immediately what this is about. Just a recommendation, of cource! Anyway, this is a good post, and your English is totally ok.

  24. In beta 5, an attempt was made to disable the acceleration enable lock. I wanted to test it on Intel GMA 900-3150 and ATI Radeon 9500-x600. But the acceleration did not turn on. GMA does not support Pixel Shaders (PS) 2.0b, only 2.0. The browser checks for PS2.0b before allowing acceleration to be enabled. For WebGL Angle browser checks PS3.0. roytam1, is it possible to fix this (checks only for PS2.0, for example in Firefox 43 webGL Angle checks PS2.0)? Once upon a time, they wanted to turn on acceleration for all GMA https://wiki.mozilla.org/Blocklisting/Blocked_Graphics_Drivers
