  1. Hi @AstroSkipper and @mina7601 Thank you for reaching out to me ... means a great deal more than you realize. I'm sorry and I didn't mean to give any reason for concern and partly why I dropped out after realizing. a) It didn't work as expected and I had (screen proof) of all those errors. b) This is without question - way over my head. While it may appear I've got a clue its a mirage. Lol I know more that I did when I first got here, but, still, lacking in other areas and I fully admit to such. Part of being a good beta tester is admitting when things go wrong and to report everything as such regardless of others success, and I DO admit I was cut down a peg when I though, seeing others reporting success, to have failed in several aspect of this project. This obviously, requires a bit more knowledge than I posses. Even on one of my most (dare I even say) clearest moments/days, I couldn't even pretend to keep up and even the last few pages lost me; but you see, I didn't report each failure and gave up. I will admit, I did not give up after only a few tries, of course, me (being me, a tinkerer) how could I even if I wanted to. Of course I tried and take it too far each time (Maybe 11 or 12 tries) resulting in unstable and unable to boot at all, but not at the fault of the testers or author as others didn't have these issues. After things went off the rails, I (again, being me) take it the the farthest degree and started to pull apart other areas of my system, and indeed discovered I'm running on unstable ground to put it lightly; but you did see the errors and they are strange. All relying heavily on my Acronis Backups to bail me out, and each and every single time, they INDEED did and never let me down. From complete crash like it never happened at all. I was able to restore from a few months to a few years ago and my backup (TIB File) files ranging from 3 GB to a mere 934 MB (yes, very very slim) XP. So, sorry for the very long answer to your question, but, yes was able to get my partitions up and running as I was taught to do very early on when things go very wrong and I've had to ask myself it it was worth chasing down the problem or just recover to a backup that had never failed even when the systems were (by all counts) dead and killed off. So, @mina7601, the main reason(s) I backed out was because I saw that I can not keep up and have issues (still talking about computers .... haha) preventing me from running this out of the box as I see it should work. And, @AstroSkipper and @NotHereToPlayGames and @Dave-H I did read your questions but didn't reply as I gave up and didn't want to admit that I'm (obviously) not as up-to-date as I should be as others here are. While I have in my registry that I'm (almost) pos ready and many updates even came up as sp4 - did I use the unofficial and back up to a stable point - that is entirely possible and probable given that I've not always been in a state state of mind to be making changes, but I can't help it sometimes, is whom I am and will always likely be, so you can be I'm still the same tweaked member trying new things, you weren't wrong. I've only two computes that are working: This Dell Optiplex 745 and my Dimension 3000. The Dimension is not so lucky and I can't do much with that but have still relied on Acronis to backup when I've botched it. Anyway, I'm fine, I guess, so please don't worry, I'm pretty open and you'll know when I'm in rough shape, because I usually say so somewhere as such and my writing goes from bad to worse and loaded with typos or I leave threads only to come back. Ha! Tell you what, though, let me think about this this week and please allow me to ask again, but I'm not sure I'm 'up to it' honestly. I'm fine and as the day progresses my (already) faulty attentions span and energy degrades, so I only had brief moments of clarity, but sometimes they become increased in duration. Yes, completely and 100% as the day I backed it up cloned. Thank you and your care means a lot, but even if I'm not a part of this project, doesn't mean I don't hope for the best for others and I will settle. ~Sal

  2. Hello @XPerceniol! Many thanks for your detailed answer! As you can see in the quoted post, I have always seen you as a member of our team. But I respect personal decisions, whether I like them or not. The beta test is over now, but, after releasing my program package, we can try to check why your computer refused to participate in the beta test, either officially in this thread or privately via PM. That's what I can offer to you. It's up to you! However, in your long reply you did not say, whether you tried to perform any of the methods, which I posted in another thread to fix your hard drive, or not. I'd have been interested! Cheers, AstroSkipper

  3. Right : https://github.com/janekptacijarabaci/greasemonkey/commit/60ded5b304d2fb616e61137e9209bb7993b55a9b Please, don't take it as a personal offence, as it was not meant that way... If you're an extension author yourself/quite savvy with browser code and the Javascript language, then I'm quite confident you'll find ways of getting out of whatever "predicament" you find yourself into by not "playing by the rules"... However, the layman user of Serpent 52 (under XP/Vista or, even, 7) will be much better off by doing "things" the recommended way; then it'd be more easy for a volunteer helper (like myself) to troubleshoot reported breakages and offer remedies, if/when possible... I am also of an adventurous "nature", but this trait has sometimes necessitated a complete browser profile rebuilt from scratch, which, depending on the original profile, can last from many hours to even day(s) ; I'd never myself promote "behaviour" that would end up in someone having to rebuild one's browser profile... In the past, I was a Mozilla Nightly Tester (v22.0a1 to v53.0a1), Firefox Nightly was being released then once a day (currently twice daily), profile "breakages" were quite frequent between updates, so one was never to mix profiles even between Firefox Nightly versions... While indeed Basilisk 52 (and, thus, Serpent 52) began its existence as an offspring of Mozilla Firefox 52.6.0 (this is an over-simplification; UXP-take 2 - the platform - began its life as a fork of Mozilla ESR 52.6.0 platform), the close affinity between them might have been a "thing" in early 2019, possibly for somewhat longer, but due to extensive work by upstream (MCP), the two platforms/applications have, by now, diverged so greatly, that their profiles are no longer interchangeable! My 2c/2p (etc.): Never mix profiles between browsers (obviously when they belong to the same "family"), or between different versions of the same browser (and Google/Mozilla have made it now impossible to successfully "downgrade" profiles, as profile migration is only ONE-WAY exclusive: from an older to a newer browser version). UXP-based browsers (and forks) have kept support for old and unmaintained Firefox "legacy" extensions; where the UXP community has created UXP-specific versions of those, it is wise to move on to such an extension fork... E.g., Stylem should be used as the de facto UserStyle manager over the Firefox-specific, old, Stylish v2.0.7/2.1.1... Kindest regards

  4. Same here. And I keep that in mind for any browser, be it Firefox or Chromium or whatever based.

  5. Why not? on Windows 8 you can do it with disc manager or Diskpart (I don't take an oath for the OP OS, but he should have a look at it).

  6. There is bit more to translate now in: WinNTSetup 5.2.6 - fixed Feeds did not got disabled on Windows 10 - added log files wimgapi_error.log and wimlib_error.log - added VHD-DIFF option - added commandline option VHD-DIFF -file:{file} -parent:{file} - added commandline switch for VHD-CREATE -mbresp - added commandline switch for VHD-CREATE -vhdbootletter:{0|1} - added commandline switch for NT6 -vhdbootfiles:{0|1} - new commandline switch -syspart and -tempdrive support VHD(X) files - workaround: added AMD's Shadercache to wimscript exclusion (buggy SecurityDescriptors)

  7. I wouldn't use any "cloning software", not that they are not good but it seems to me that the replacement can be done with the built in tools. Server 2012 shouldn't be much different from Server 2008, here is a primer for the latter: https://www.techotopia.com/index.php/Configuring_Disk_Mirroring_(RAID_1)_on_Windows_Server_2008 If we call the disks: A= 1st old 500 GB disk B= 2nd old 500 GB disk Y= 1st new 1000 GB disk Z= 2nd new 1000 GB disk You have now a mirrored set of A+B. When you boot now, you should have a choice between a "normal" BCD entry and another one with "Secondary Plex" in the description, a good idea would be to check the BCD (with BCDEDIT or BootIce). Theory of operation: 1. break (NOT remove, i.e. DO NOT use the "nokeep" parameter in Diskpart) the mirror (on disk B). 2. switch off the PC and remove (disconnect physically) disk B 3. reboot, the system should behave normally 4. switch off the PC and add (connect physically) disk Y 5. re-create a mirror set, adding Y as mirror of A, you have now a mirrored set of A+Y 6. break (NOT remove) the mirror 7. switch off the PC and remove (disconnect physically) disk A, and move disk Y to the port where A was connected. 8. reboot, the system should behave normally (but you will probably need to use the "Secondary Plex" entry [1]) 9. here is the point I don't know, will Server 2012 allow to extend the volume on Y? Or you might need to boot to a PE of sorts and extend the volume from it. 10. reboot, the system should behave normally 11.switch off the PC and add (connect physically) disk Z 12. re-create a mirror set, adding Z as mirror of Y, you have now a mirrored set of Y+Z In the above procedure disk A and disk B (besides breaking the mirror) are not modified, so it should be "safe". jaclaz [1] you may need to use a PE or some other means (grub4dos) to set the partition active, check this: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/lync/en-US/41adc54b-36ca-4aba-9861-05cd8deff8e6/make-mirror-drive-primary

  9. 1.5 GB per process (2 GB in Vista and higher), the actual RAM limit is around 3.2 GB unless you enable PAE.

  10. Use KnownDLLs to redirect that -core file to Kernel32.dll

  12. @XPerceniol Are you okay buddy? Why did you stopped beta testing with us?

  13. @XPerceniol I would be interested in that, too! Your issues were very strange as far as I could see. Hello @XPerceniol! I was very busy last week and only now realize that you never replied to our request. What's going on with your computer? Did you manage it to work again? Could you restore your partition completely? And BTW, I gave you some recommendations and tips for trying to get rid of hard drive failures here in this post: Have you considered to perform any of these methods? Anyway, hope you are well, and, take care of you! Cheers, AstroSkipper

  14. MS store on Win8/8.1 is discontinued, sort of many apps from MS store are for Win10 & newer, not Win8.x https://redmondmag.com/articles/2018/08/20/microsoft-store-windows-8-app-updates.aspx
