  1. Updated v9, v11, v12 and v13: - Updated the New Tab (Added JavaScript). You can change the values of the shortcuts while being in the browser now. It was my first time using JavaScript, hope it works well! - Fixed a bug related to the password saving and autofill options. Some modifications to the "chrome.dll" file related to the ".cn" entries and the Search Engines made the mentioned options to break the Gmail login page. Cheers.

  2. Well, I, for one, have already drawn my line in the sand: 7 Ultimate SP1 x86 and XPSP3 are my last MS OSes. For anything x64, I'm already using debian buster (which actually has no x86 version, only x64), And if the other side requires both Windows and x64, then, no, thanks, nothing they may have to offer is for me, period. Molon labe!

  4. Big pleasant surprise here: Full connectivity with an iPad Mini 4 (2015-2019) with IOS 14.6 (24-05-2021) installed. Using iTools v4.3.5.5. This allows for access to photos, music, ebooks etc. So this iTools program downloads and installs apple drivers automatically (normally part of iTunes software), and it seemingly succeeds in doing that under Windows XP. (The currently latest version of iTools, v4.4.5.6. does not run on Windows XP. Many calls to unsupported functions. ) Edit: Latest 3uTools v2.57.031 (2021-08-30) is very similar. It seems to have more options. It also works under windows XP, and also successfully connects to the mentioned iPad. Actually this 3uTools works better compared to the mentioned iTools version, as it is more recent, and better adapted to IOS 14.6 specifics.

  6. Here is how you can "test" DNS over HTTPS -- https://1.1.1.1/help But as I mentioned, this feature is broken and does not work in any of the 360Chrome versions, so it is misleading for the setting to be there because it makes people falsely think that it is working.

  7. That feature is broken and does not work in the original Chinese, is broken and does not work in the Russian Repack, is broken and does not work in my rebuilds, is broken and does not work in Humming Owl's rebuilds. I therefore remove the portion from the GUI because it does not work and is misleading for it to be there.

  8. well there is Opera GX gaming browser which purpose I still wont understand. That will make opera king of browsers , Well all sarcasm aside, browsers will make poor client application platform and supporting will be hell. If want good example look at Infective X I mean Active x sites that are still used on many intranets and getting rid Internet Exploiter I mean Explorer fully is hard since those sites are still used to do stuff and nobody wants to upgrade. And Infective X I mean Active X created support hell. Webgpu gives direct access to gpu and I wonder all security issues of it implementation and if it becomes obsolete some point

  10. It is strange. Anything after the gpg command is ignored, it ignores even redirection to a file. A way out is: cmd.exe /k gpg --verify %1 but you will have to close the command window with the mouse on the right top cross button or type exit on command line (which becomes without prompt). This is ugly but it works like your current one: pause | cmd.exe /k gpg --verify %1 only you won't have the Press any key prompt, still by pressing any key the cmd window will close. This: @echo off prompt Press any key to continue ...&&pause | cmd.exe /k gpg --verify %1 should emulate your current behaviour. jaclaz

  11. You should not use 127.0.0.1 for hosts or similar redirectors and instead use 0.0.0.0. Home is still a valid address and will still cause the browser to use the timeout option on the connection. 0.0.0.0 is invalid and should fail immediately. This does not matter whether or not you are actually running a web server on the computer. Running a webserver is an additional concern where you not only waste resources, but there are some slight security concerns, although they typically are going to involve TIs.

  13. Kinda no surprise there. We have regional dealers that are caught holding back fixes like that more often than you might think. There are 300-some "robots" at the factory and 260-some all run XP (I would be fired if I posted a picture, these robots build electrical parts for BMW, Daimler, and Ford and warranty-only parts for a GM model no longer used in current production vehicles). The funny part is the teenage kids working the factory floor right out of high school, "We could build parts faster if that robot was upgraded to Windows 10." You reply, "XP is actually fastest for this application, it's an embedded OS on a socket-479 90nm cpu running at 1.8 GHz with a 400 MHz bus." Their eyes glaze over like they just missed the bus and have to walk to school.

  14. I seem to remember that there was a hostile cyber attack on NHS systems a few years ago. Much as I love XP, unless they are paying MS for current security updates, I hope those machines aren't connected to the internet! Windows Embedded 2009 still runs on the self-service tills in my local Marks and Spencer shop BTW, saw one booting up only yesterday, but didn't get a picture sadly.

  15. I made a custom Windows Vista Image called Windows Vienna (Named after Windows 7's codename) I gave it it's own kind of look anyway i'm kinda off topic. I used a program called gimagex which is very useful. all you have to do is extract install.wim from the .ISO file and mount it but be sure to select the 'read and write' check box. you can directly replace the modified kernel32.dll file in the Windows directory without any permission issues. once done, check 'commit changes' and then select unmount. here's what i achieved whith gimagex: this took me 2 years to develop btw.
