Just going back to Browsermetrics for a moment, someone here has reported the same issue with Edge, so it looks like it's something that can probably happen with all Chromium-based browsers. A new profile was recommended there too, and apparently fixed it.3 points

Only one English language is proper, the one they speak in England, everything else is a dialect. Removing letters from words or saying elevator instead of lift doesn't make it another, standalone language, ir's still a dialect, and a very odd one. Not to mention rather new. I don't "insist" on anything, I just assumed it'd be more convenient to use normal, not upside down dates and normal. internationally recognised spelling. It's your choice if you don't want to. Then don't whine when we spot you over a mile on github or anywhere else. Look how your favourite Supermium author spells, or the iconic @AstroSkipper, Dave and my dear friend @Jody Thornton. BTW, just so you know, on joint NATO missions, we all communicated in English-English, not the American dialect.3 points

Hmmm. Can I just check something? You're not trying to use 360Chrome.exe as the launcher, I hope! That's the executable for the 360Chrome browser. The exe file for the launcher is 360Loader.exe.2 points
-
Updating the embedded root certificates of Mypal 68 is of course a very good idea and important for using this browser in the future.2 points
-
Oh dear. I'm sure that @NotHereToPlayGames will be able to say what's wrong. My chrome.exe is in the Program Files\Supermium folder, I don't have the App subfolder. That's just the way I set it up.1 point
-
No I'm not. I spent a very long time manually editing the registry to make Supermium my default browser on XP, as the usual mechanism doesn't work on XP. I don't want the registry to be possibly messed up again.1 point
-
It should be - AppName=Chrome PathToExe=.\App\$AppName$.exe I think that's right. I'm sure that @NotHereToPlayGames will confirm or otherwise! It can't find chrome.exe at the moment.1 point

The loader will be two files. If we are using the loader from 360Chrome, those two files will be 360Loader.exe and 360Loader.ini. They can be renamed to SupermiumLoader.exe and SupermiumLoader.ini. The names must MATCH with the exception of .exe and .ini.1 point

The 360Chrome loader works fine with Supermium, I use it on XP. I use Chrome+ on Windows 10.1 point
-
Right you are! Apologies, I should have did a trial-run first. Still should be quite easy. I suspect that 360Chrome's "loader" can be configured to run Supermium. That "loader" has the ability to delete files when the browser that it launches is closed. I have not tried, but it "should" work. Would take several folder/config differences and is not just a "copy Supermium and overwrite 360Chrome" process. There are several other "loader" obtions as well. Or, even just a simple .bat file to launch Supermium (I myself prefer actual "loaders" over .bat files). But .bat files are "extremely easy" and anybody with a keyboard should be able to figure them out.1 point

It should also be noted that this has already been discussed at GitHub and the Supermium developer has already stated that Supermium's --ungoogled-supermium PREVENTS ANY POSSIBILITY OF THE TRANSMISSION OF THE DATA. Which, for the record, is how Official Ungoogled deals with BrowserMetrics also. Full read - https://github.com/win32ss/supermium/issues/1110 Excerpt -1 point

I just use a simple FTP server app on my phone and connect to it wirelessly from pretty much any PC. FTP is widely supported from Windows 95 to Windows 11 and Linux and shows up just like a folder in Explorer. MTP is an absolute pain to get working unless you're on Windows 7 or above (even Linux has trouble supporting it) so I don't use that.1 point

Don't listen to unproven Conspiracy Theories. Totally disconnect yourself from the internet, disable your network card, you name it. *IF* this Conspiracy Theory were true, then a TOTALLY UNCONNECTED browser would pile these up left and right "because they were not successfuly sent".1 point

Is a form of LED, VERY bright!!! It compensates the poor colours with insane brightness. Pros don't use it. Now the riddle is over. They are generally for folks on tight budget. "OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) displays use individual pixels that emit their own light, allowing for better contrast and true blacks, while LED (Light Emitting Diode) displays use a backlight to illuminate pixels, which can result in less contrast. OLEDs generally offer superior picture quality, but LED displays are often brighter and more affordable." Basically, their contrast is TOO high. But visually looks "better", but it's an illusion, Auto-generated based on listed sources.1 point

*ALL* dark-mode users. It's not they that keep PICKING BS FIGHTS over trivial S H I T !!! !!!1 point

What is OLED? Is that my TV or my monitor, I really don't remember, NOR CARE. I don't recall without digging through credit card statements or whatnot how old my monitors are. For one, *I* don't care, only *YOU* do. Your obscession, not mine. I really DO NOT UNDERSTAND why *YOU* hang on my every word. Sure, I threw out "less than 10", who the H#LL CARES how old my "less than 10" are except for the PICK-A-FIGHT *BS* here at MSFN ???1 point

https://msfn.org/board/topic/186741-firefox-and-chromium-running-on-windows-7-by-e3kskskoy7wqk/?do=findComment&comment=1278904 They quit making CCFL around 2007, around 18 years ago, so yeah it's LED. you said it's "less than 10 y.o." Shades of white and proper shadows are only visible on a good, properly calibrated, expensive LED, which is LESS than 5, not "less than 10 years old" like yours, but then again, I don't blame you, it's just strange why at least 5 people here see that, and you don't.1 point
-
I never said near 10. I also never said LED. Moving on... What I have in my living room and computer room really is NONE of your business. You just like to "pick fights" and for some ungodly reason, my monitors have a target on their back. Not sure where, 'cause I'm sitting right in front of them and can't see the target. And I have 20/20 vision. This is just *YOU* "picking fights", plain and simple. Moving on...1 point

"piercing white" and "acid blue" all come from the overall increased brightness and digital vibrance, is the word overblown clear to you? That's what Supermium has in terms of colours. But it can be not so noticeable on e-waste, 10 years old LED monitors. LED is designed to be used for no more than 3-5 years, they awfully degrade overtime, much faster than CCFL and irreversibly kill your retina, so the fact you finally opened up about having a near 10 y.o. LED display is even worse than the alleged 20 years old Dell 2407. On one hand, it possibly took a lot of courage to admit about having such a monitor, on the other - a bit shallow, considering the fact you knew there's a "crew" watching, lol.1 point

I already modified my fork ytBATCH for Windows XP. I added new entries to the main window, removed the autoupdate function of ytBATCH completely, changed the update function for ytBATCH to a simple version check one and removed all superfluous code. Now, it is no longer possible to accidentally update ytBATCH, which would only render my fork non-functional. At the moment, the batch script ensemble is again in test mode.1 point

@Jody Thornton is a trusted member, moi fellow Canadian friend, there's no reason not to trust Jody. Are you sure you write about the 132 R1 re;ease?1 point

Very strange. Never had any crashes with this release. All Python related modules were ported by me from @cmalex's ProxyMII (20220717) release. Check my main article under the sections 8.3.1 and 9.3! As I said, no problems here with these releases on my Windows XP computer. And you are the very first who reported such issues Did you install it by following my instructions? Maybe, you should completely remove it and perform a reinstallation. Is there anything else in your system which might interfere with the Python modules?1 point

I removed in all batch files the PowerShell commands for downloading and extracting the yt-dlp, youtube-dl and ffmpeg archive files. As a replacement, I added wget.exe for downloading your releases respectively @Reino's release and 7z.exe for extracting the downloaded archive files. Then, I rewrote the corresponding code in different batch files. Now, all batch files for updating work again under Windows XP. The yt-dlp, youtube-dl and ffmpeg archive files are downloaded, extracted and then removed including all unwanted files. So, your yt-dlp can be checked by the -U option at any time. After checking for updates, I added an option to decide whether an update of the yt-dlp file or the youtube-dl file should be carried out or not. Now, everything is running the way I wanted it to. Project finished.1 point

I also used the Open With extension in the past. It is indeed a nice extension. ytBATCH is not only one batch file but a couple of batch files. I changed the code of some batch files to avoid PowerShell commands which do not work under Windows XP. Now, ytBATCH is able to download the most recent versions of @nicolaasjan's yt-dlp and youtube-dl releases, and @Reino's last ffmpeg release, by itself. And here ytBatch's Preferences: And this is the main window where a command or the YouTube link has to be entered: This script collection is cool.1 point

And what about that? Did you already try to insert your custom argument there? You can get there by clicking on Options in the main window.1 point

So, long story short. The Project VORAPIS 0.9.0.0 script works fine in Mozilla based browsers like New Moon 28 and Serpent 52 which are the browsers this thread is about. And it also works in Mypal 68, all tested by me.1 point
-
@NotHereToPlayGames But TBH, the Project VORAPIS 0.9.0.0 script itself works as well as the TURBOLAUNCHER 2.1.0.0 script in New Moon 28 and Mypal 68 on my old machine. Therefore, I assume you configured your computer badly, and by that I mean your adblocker.1 point
