  1. I was able to finally get it after creating a mediafire account and through URL manipulation. Hello! You are the very first reporting problems with the download of files I hosted on MediaFire. In any case, all my files are clean and free of malware. If MediaFire really reports something like this, it is very wrong. I have now checked my MediaFire account, and indeed, some of my files uploaded years ago are suddenly and wrongly flagged as malicious. MediaFire seems to use a new virus scanner, and it must be very bad. Therefore, all flagged files will be replaced by me with archives protected by a password to free MediaFire from such false positives. The password will be provided in the section 11. Downloads of my main article in the first post of this thread.

  2. Anyways, it's not the topic here, I mean the comparison between the two. And as for the merging options, I tried MKVmerge suggested by @j7n, it also borked up the timings, just like FFMPEG did. So it's only somewhat usable if not extracted from MKA. But it's not what the OP wants.

  4. Thanks a lot for those precise answers. I was able to find the problem. I made an error when locating Visual C++ 14.28.29213.0 redistributable. In fact i had version 14.0.23026 installed... After downloading and installing the right version, i can now start ProxHTTPSProxy's PopMenu TLS 1.3 3V3. One day of head scratching for this error Plus one hour of research and URL manipulations to get around the Mediafire blocked file Looking for the right version i did see a 14.29.30139 version : https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/2883-microsoft-visual-c-redist-2015-2019-for-windows-xp/ Is it really working ? I can now try 3V3 on the Athlon XP-M machine where i need it. In the meantime i did install an SSE2 TLS 1.2 version on another PC in the same network, and did configure the Athlon XP machine proxy settings to target this PC. This was working. Edit : i cannot install Visual C++ 14.28.29213.0 redistributable on this Athlon XP-M machine (SSE compatible). I got this error : As a side note, a lot of forums posts have lost interest because the files they are pointing to have been deleted, sometimes by antivirus systems, sometimes because the site did close, or other reasons. It's good when possible to self host, use archive sites for such important and extensive works, and or at least have a local copy. Thanks a lot for all this very nice work.

  5. I was able to finally get it after creating a mediafire account and through URL manipulation. Hello! You are the very first reporting problems with the download of files I hosted on MediaFire. In any case, all my files are clean and free of malware. If MediaFire really reports something like this, it is very wrong. These are the system requirements for ProxHTTPSProxy's PopMenu TLS 1.3 3V3. So, it actually should run on your Athlon XP computer. Especially, since @cmalex made it compatible with SSE only processors. And again, you are the very first reporting compatibility problems with ProxHTTPSProxy's PopMenu TLS 1.3 3V3 running on Windows XP SP3 machines with an Intel SSE2 processor. My main Windows XP computer is equipped with an Intel Pentium 4 SSE2 processor, and ProxHTTPSProxy's PopMenu TLS 1.3 3V3 works there like a charm . BTW, it was developed and tested on this computer. So, I fear you did something wrong, or all your machines are missing something.

  7. https://audiophiles.co/flac-vs-wav/ Key Features of WAV 1. Uncompressed Audio: WAV files typically store audio data in an uncompressed format, preserving the original audio quality without any loss. This makes WAV ideal for professional audio work where maintaining the highest possible fidelity is crucial. 2. PCM Encoding: Most WAV files use Pulse Code Modulation (PCM) encoding, which captures analogue audio signals by sampling them at regular intervals and quantizing the samples to digital values. This results in a faithful digital representation of the original analogue waveform

  8. In addition to what already posted, WinRAR v6.02 can compress to both rar/rar5, while WinRAR v7.01 can only compress to rar5 (as support for rar was removed in v7.00) ; however, versions compatible with Vista SP2 have the ability to decompress .zst archives, as this feature was only introduced in v6.10 ...

  10. Eureka! I finally found out "what scenario" results in my bank AND the US Post Office (neither of which are "affiliated" with each other) being server-side blacklisted. They both blacklist the winPenPack loader if it has a version-mismatch with the browser that the loader loads (doesn't matter if it is 360Chrome, Ungoogled, or Official Chrome). I might still have to use Official Chrome versus Ungoogled, still testing. But I can "intentionally" cause server-side blacklisting! And, shh, don't tell them, but if I "intentionally" server-side blacklist ELEVEN web browsers (call them A-1, B-2, C-3, D-4, E-5, F-6, G-7, H-8, I-9, J-10, and K-11), for my TWELTH web browser, I can reuse the first (A-1) and it no longer be blacklisted!

  11. I am updating the root certificates using a utility Cert_Updater_v1.6: Once started, it automatically downloads the current version of all root certificates and then installs them. After that it shows the date of each of them. Just run it every 3-6 months and all system certificates will be up to date.

  13. A major feature which is missing in the new versions is the ability to drag and drop files to pin them on the application icon of the taskbar. I'd like to see this implemented in the future.

  14. @VistaLover Thanks for answering while I was still writing my own reply. I would like to add, that the Python 3.9 files by @cmalex (which I also use) can be found here. I can't use any PyInstaller above v5.13.2 on XP...

  15. Nothing, and don't get down with it! My one damaged eye gets worse, I try to spare the one that is somewhat normal, so I listen to the rain, it's indeed beautiful. The problem is, it's hard to enjoy it in full with my tinnitus (the consequences of my long time artillery services). So I try to sit in the dark and meditate, perform black magic rituals. You oughta try sometime.

  17. Dude, where did you came from with this idea that i am comparing them to germans? I am comparing orcs and putler to nazi's and hitler. Führer is a good German word, it translates to Leader, leader, driver, a locomotive driver for example, machinist of a steam engine, military rank, etc. It's not suitable to call that entity "Führer". Besides, according to the Russian Constitution, the legitimacy of that individual you called "Führer" had ended in 2007. Use simple math. 1999 + 2x4 = 2007. Now regarding the topic, I may start to like Russia, despite I helped your country 2x times. Thanks for letting me know Russia does de-pop on both sides, less people, more oxygen, good for the climate!

  18. My theory is that FLAC has a poorly written container that affects the playback because the player has to unpack it to RAM first.

  19. Well, I don't know much about FLAC, I store my own Vinyl Rips only in wav. FLAC sounds more "flat", lacks depth. I own many vinyls.

  20. Anyways, I didn't like the output quality, it sounded "metallic", and I have a very good Hi-End audio devices. Whatever you try, keep the originals! Good luck in your searches! Probably @NotHereToPlayGames also joins the discussion since I read he's a huge music fan.

  21. Update notification! As already reported, the Root Certificates have been updated and are now from 28-05-2024. Here again a screenshot: I totally forgot to update my self-created, offline Root Certificate Updaters in the section 11.2.4. Downloads related to Root Certificate Updates (in the first post of this thread). I have just made up for that. Cheers, AstroSkipper

  22. Try ProxHTTPSProxyMII 1.3a! It is an old version created by the original developer. Here is a download link: http://www.proxfilter.net/proxhttpsproxy/ProxHTTPSProxyMII 1.3a.zip Or ProxHTTPSProxyMII 1.5. Download link: http://jjoe.proxfilter.net/ProxHTTPSProxyMII/files/ProxHTTPSProxyMII 1.5 advanced 34cx_freeze5.0.1urllib3v1.22Win32OpenSSL_Light-1_0_2o-1_1_0h.zip AFAIK, both versions were built with Python 3.4. More can be read in my main article. There are further links for information. BTW, these versions are pure proxies without the PopMenu and my self-created programmes. They are original releases from their developers.

  23. SSL3 is a very old protocol and actually abandoned (and therefore unsupported). Where and what for do you want to create such a connection? Do you refer to ProxHTTPSProxy? The idea of ProxHTTPSProxy is actually to establish a TLS 2.0 or even a TLS 3.0 connection where this is natively not possible by using more recent cipher suites via a HTTPSProxy. But I think you surely already know that.

  24. Your comment is again offtopic. Read carefully what I have written here: No further discussions about 360Chrome issues in this thread. Post your 360Chrome issues in one of the corresponding Arctifoxie threads! A solution has been provided for you here in detail. And that means use ProxHTTPSProxy! And thus, we are finally on-topic again!

  25. @Anbima and @w2k4eva! Any in-depth consideration of certificate issues in 360Chrome are browser-specific issues and are actually rather off-topic here. In any case, this here is not a 360Chrome browser thread. Such issues should be discussed in one of the countless Arctifoxie 360Chrome threads. And just for clarification, this has happened several times there in the past, without any real solutions. 360Chrome 13.x had problems with certain sites and their certificates from the very first. This will never be solved as this ported browser has not been developed further for years. The only way to solve certificate problems in these browser versions is to use ProxHTTPSProxy. On some problematic sites, the Windows 2000 compatibility mode also helps to show the padlock and green, secure HTTPS connection under Windiws XP. I have tested all this myself, and it works. Or use a more modern Chrome browser in Windows XP as, for example, Thorium which does not show such issues!

  26. Docker Toolbox is compatible with older versions of Windows (Win7, Win8), unlike the newer Docker Desktop (Win10 and up, last I checked). On Windows, it basically does run a Linux VM for all Docker stuff. If you're interested in running Docker on legacy systems, you are also probably interested in offline installation of Docker containers. For that, my notes have the following for offline installation:

  27. The problem with the author's modules are their poor quality. I had the same series, and their chips failed, even being in a well ventilated case. Their temps never went higher than 36 degrees (Celsius). It's human's body temperature.

  28. DDR3 runs almost 2x times cooler, you can touch the module with your finger, it's barely warm. And those blue are packed up, wrapped up with some good aluminium radiators, simply an overcloker dream.

  29. Good advice, but rather off-topic here and mostly valid/useful only for DDR2 and below. DDR2 is a very hot, extremely outdated technology from about 20 years ago. DDR2 desperately needs heatsinks if overclocked. especially,

  30. No ,you just missed his answer to my post. It was a very specific item we discussed - Kingston DDR3 (Made in Taiwan, the over-popular blue one - Hyper-X. HyperX is a series of overclocking RAM modules. There's no "usual" HyperX, it's hyper by the very definition. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=HyperX+RAM+Kingston+blue
