All about: - A custom button for accessing the about:config page and other important about:pages in a more convenient way. Forked, translated and reworked by AstroSkipper All about: is a custom button to open the about:config page solely, or alternatively, with a currently selected or a previously copied string as a filter. Furthermore, other important about:pages can be easily opened from a button menu each with one click. I created two versions, one is targeting Serpent, Basilisk and other Firefox 52/53 based browsers, and the other is targeting the New Moon and Pale Moon browsers. I forked the All about: custom button from an old but still working one, translated and completely reworked it. I changed the content of the tooltip, added a help menu, inserted icons to the about:pages button menu by adding code, adapted the about:pages entries to the respective browser versions which lead to two different versions. All has been done solely in JavaScript without the help of CSS. Finally, I rearranged some code. The All about: custom button is very handy and helpful for those who are working a lot with prefs in the about:config page. The most interesting features are to open the about:config page with the currently selected string without copying it and a button menu with only important about:pages. Here are small screenshots of the All about: custom button taken from New Moon 28: And here are the download links: All about: for Serpent, Basilisk and other Firefox 52/53 based browsers: https://www.mediafire.com/file/16sfrr2gxwdxdc7/All_about-fx-sp-ba.xml/file All about: for New Moon and Pale Moon browsers: https://www.mediafire.com/file/gyktk1qu92k003g/All_about-nm-pm.xml/file The download links contain XML backup files of the All about: custom button as the problem with the conversion of custom buttons into XML format has been finally solved by me. Simply open the XML file in the browser and click onto the install button! For the installation of this button, the extension Custom Buttons is required which you can get from this post: https://msfn.org/board/topic/183923-extensions-and-custom-buttons-for-uxp-browsers-corrections-modifications-adjustments-and-special-recommendations/?do=findComment&comment=1226328 The custom button All about: can be used with New Moon, Serpent, Firefox. Most probably also with Pale Moon and Basilisk which I haven't tested, though, as I don't use these browsers. Unfortunately, these versions of the All about: custom button don't work with the non-UXP browser Mypal 68 and other modern Firefox versions as the used code is not compatible with them. But for Mypal 68, I already created a new All about: custom button from scratch with same functionality since I also use the legacy Custom Buttons extension in this browser. Its creation was much more complicated as I thought due to some issues I had to fix and due to a complete recreation of the button menu. The custom button looks absolutely identical to the UXP variant but its code inside is of course different. Greetings from Germany, AstroSkipper2 points

No one is "paranoid", we are just being on the safe side. I mean, do you realise how serious is to install kernel from unknown, non-developer sources!? MSFN only hosts and provides 100% clean originals. The same with external links. We can't just take someone's word for it, sorry.2 points

All fakes, like the member above wrote. I'd also keep a close eye on this user @lll888. Before posting his fakes, he accused MSFN of being "almost dead" and hosting non-working projects. Here's my answer. https://msfn.org/board/topic/186324-disable-system-restore/?do=findComment&comment=1269459 https://msfn.org/board/topic/186324-disable-system-restore/?do=findComment&comment=12694322 points

Why does it matter, it's still a fake, too. I'd wait for official statements from the developer. He's a member here. Would you risk installing a fake kernel? I think, no.2 points
-
How do we know it's the original project, and not a fake one, like in the recent case with the warnings about fake Supermium?2 points
-
Probably, the same case as with the forceful takedown of Supermium. Guys, someone knows, does it support Win7 without the bloated SP1?2 points

I sincerely hope that constantly posting offtopic isn't a form of senility. In the last few pages, one doesn't get anything about the actual topic here. @roytam1 must have a very thick skin.1 point

<edit: add OT tag> My conclusion here is that "computer enthusiasts" do NOT end up at MSFN. Sorry, they just don't. A "car enthusiast" is someone that owns and upkeeps a "classic" car - you would NEVER hear that "enthusiast" complain, biatch, moan, and whine that their "classic" cannot "do" the same things that a "modern" car can "do". Again, just "my" conclusion, but what we have here are NOT "computer enthusiasts". Sorry, been there, done that. I was on XP up until just this year. I quite literally removed my last strangle-hold (my Acer Aspire One POS) from daily-use just yesterday (replaced with an i5 which still does not qualify as "modern"). It's time for us to face facts and ADMIT that "we" are NOT "computer enthusiasts" !!! !!! !!! Calling ourselves such is a Red Herring !!! !!! !!! Cheap? Frugal? Nostalgic? Dance to the rhythm of our own drum? These all define "us" better than PRETENDING to be "computer enthusiasts". My brother is a "phone enthusiast". Where I do not own a phone! No land line, no mobile, no "burner", NO PHONE AT ALL. He will "upgrade" three or four times a year! Sure, not "every" year, but still. That (to me) is the STUPIDEST thing I've ever witnessed! Like trading in a car and taking *depreciation* up the, um, well, the area where our body exits waste. We are not "computer enthusiasts". CHEAP is a better word. But none of us will like the negative connotations that it seems to carry. Sure, there are countries that are impoverished and those countries receive donated XP Era computers from other countries that are not impoverished. But again, let's face facts, the countries receiving these donated computers DO NOT define themselves as "computer enthusiasts". They thank us for the donation and grin ear to ear for their gift. A "car enthusiast" has five or six of them when the average person has only one or two. A "phone enthusiast" has five or six of them when the average person has only one or two. A "XP era computer enthusiast" has five or six of them when the average person has one or even ZERO of them. But the OT Police will be here shortly. So off I go, lol...1 point

So, partially answering my own question, I've tried it with a Tyan Tiger i7501 and the board beeps 7 times, code meaning "Non Reg/ECC DIMMs inserted". The board does POST with registered ECC DDR266, so it seems that at least with this particular model regular ram cannot be used.1 point

Personally, I don't expect to be able to surf every website properly with UXP browsers. The bloated, modern and totally over-greedy websites simply have to be accessed with other browsers or devices. Since there's a lot of Googlised junk on them, such sites are thrown at my Android (Google) tablet. That works great. Spoken for me only, I don't like the modern web layout. In my opinion, the entire development of websites is going in the completely wrong direction. I would rather focus on fast page loading and compatibility than overloading pages with all kinds of bells and whistles.1 point

Well over a year and a bit later, Windows Defender has started "updating" again. The update button in Windows Defender actually works again! Go figure ???1 point

Legacy browsers like New Moon 28 and Serpent are totally moddable, and their extensions are not neutered as is the case with webextensions. Fortunately, I have made significant modifications in Mypal 68 to remove many restrictions. Extensions and themes no longer need to be signed, and my legacy custom buttons are not subject to any restrictions. All this can't be done easily or at all with modern browsers.1 point

Poll closed 1. There are already (legitimate) sanctions on Russia and other countries that already prevent these types of exports or services being provided. This began during the Obama administration. 2. This is an internal thing relating specifically to the Treasury Department and does not apply to any part of the government outside of that or to regular citizens. Executive Orders only apply to the Executive Branch of the government. No one is permitted to amend an EO except for the President, certainly not the Director of Foreign Assets Control, so it is quite possible that this is an illegal order in the first place. 3. The topic is not technology related, the only thing posted were parts about government policy. The poll is completely political and unrelated to the topic. In the future, users should report political topics instead of trying to be moderators.1 point

Border line. Walk right up to the line in the sand, toe as close as possible without crossing the line. We all already know your views. "Good luck with your poll", I shall be moving on to more important "issues".1 point

Regarding the very first three words -- "Do you think"... I think that polls/posts such as this should be "banned" on an INTERNATIONAL FORUM. That's my opinion. Some may like it. Others may not. I personally don't care who/whom falls into which category.1 point

It should be mentioned at this point that I do not use uBO Legacy 1.16.4.35 at factory defaults. I use a different set of filter lists than the default one. Furthermore, I use additional lists, own rules and scripts. The initial, default setting is only a basic one and is not YouTube related. And I didn't get a video ad on the second video.1 point

But now that various theories have been put forward about YouTube and overlay pop-ups with warnings to the user, I am happy to put forward my theory, which I will not verify or prove in any way. Google, and therefore YouTube, wants to make money. If users use the service over a long period of time without being a premium customer and yet without getting and watching any adverts, then this will certainly be registered by YouTube and therefore by Google in whatever way. These users must then have been using an adblocker the whole time and will eventually receive this overlay pop-up warning.1 point

You didn't say that in this post. You only talked about a certain number of videos. Now suddenly, it's the duration. Somehow I get the feeling that these are just unsubstantiated theories and nothing more. But YouTube is a crappy interface and no option for browsers on my system. I use YouTube itself only on my Android tablet. Anyway! Opening videos via the legacy extension uTube is much, much, much better than the original YouTube interface. So, I am not interested in investigating the YouTube interface in UXP browsers.1 point

Yep! And they still work with my mod uBlock Origin Legacy. Why do you post an ad blocker for Chrome in a thread about legacy extensions for UXP browsers? Same applies to this extension. Not compatible with UXP browsers. Such recommendations should be done in corresponding threads. Otherwise it would be misleading. TBH, I have never seen such a message. I tried to reproduce your issue but I failed,. It doesn't seem directly related to the video in your screenshot. Here is my screenshot with your video in New Moon 28: No problem to play this video apart from the unfortunate fact that the music is terrible, which is of course always a question of taste.1 point

No, on the contrary, your English is good. I wish many others had at least your level. Today, I wanted to stick forks in my eyes when I saw "maded" written by a dude who claims to be a "developer", lol. So, I just made you a compliment, as you see, I'm not here "against you", either. What I wanted to tell, we know that Kernel developer from here, he is a member, I don't trust github either, I trust MSFN. Edit. Nothing personal, it's just we had some MSFN haters joined as of lately. So some folks may be a bit agitated and over-protective.1 point

Compare with what? What if the user is new, and doesn't have any of these from before? Since the original repo is gone, as you wrote yourself.1 point

Wow! I knew it! This new member now posts fake programmes. The account with the nick @lll888. I'd like to notify @Tripredacus. It's already quite a lot of posts that member made with dubious software and batch scripts, now this link to fake Kernel.1 point

Thank you very much for the investigation, I felt like something fishy was going on there. I'll upvote tomorrow (I'm out of likes, they are limited).1 point

Unfortunately, it is not as simple as you describe here. You can't buy a new PATA meaning an IDE hard disk anymore, and that for years. They are not produced anymore. In old systems, there is no SATA controller or can no longer be retrofitted so easily. Old systems lack of PCIe slots, they have PCI only. Therefore, it could be important to maintain and take care of old IDE hard disks and their data as long as possible.1 point

Yes , some (not all , and only from 2005-2013) hardware was of better quality , for sure . I still use a 15 years old audiocard.1 point

I can pass you my rights for the Addon serial and for the "Free game campaign" (the third option , very interesting) so you could complete the SpellForce series ! I have two editions of the same game anyways , that's right . I have an ordinary UK GOLD set and the 3-disk Limited Austrian Edition with the soundtrack CD. The patch will work with them both ! You will get a new menu with three options : campaigns and free campaign mode with (50+ maps), instead of just one. Also , there should be a handy map editor available , I think links aren't dead yet. Proof with photos , if necesary .1 point
