Are these issues only in 5015 and not in 5012? In 5015 I made changes to the SRW locks, enabling them in shared mode.4 points

Yep! The new Reddit is the hell. 100% RAM usage on my system, and nothing works anymore. That's why I use the old Reddit via userscript there.3 points

Thanks for the tip! I will have a look at this preference once again when I am back at my machine.3 points

Yesterday, I did further testing of the hardware acceleration in New Moon 28, Serpent 52, Mypal 68 and Thorium. This feature now works in all of them but video hardware acceleration seems to be a problem. YouTube videos run best in New Moon 28 and worst in Thorium under my modest hardware conditions. Although video hardware acceleration has been enabled and confirmed in Thorium's chrome://gpu-internals page, it is more of a joke. At least, on my weak hardware. It does not accelerate anything and CPU utilisation is nearly 100%, regardless of the resolution.3 points

Yes, of course. Both preferences do exist in my New Moon 28 installation and profiles. I also use the most recent but standard (for SSE2 and up) version https://o.rthost.win/palemoon/palemoon-28.10.7a1.win32-git-20240525-d849524bd-uxp-f8f3b3ee43-xpmod.7z3 points

Funny, but to be fair, look at this site, seems brighter than others. https://win32subsystem.live/supermium/2 points

Thank you, @win32! My trust in you is unbreakable. I wish all the best to you and your projects!2 points

I agree with you, and everyone knows: I love @win32, but then again, win32 has an account here, all it would take just a minute to post a relaxing comment! Don't you think? I mean, we (at least I) deserve this much. I was always loyal to win32.2 points

My NVIDIA 6200 AGP grahics card seems to support H.264. Here is an official comparison table from NVIDIA: https://www.nvidia.de/docs/CP/11086/PureVideo_Product_Comparison.pdf2 points

I also haven't been able to find any connections opened to Chinese IP addresses, much unlike 360 Chrome. The "expires in one year" is a restriction in the application itself. If you try running the browser in August 2024 or later, it will silently crash. However, there is a logic error in the timebomb so it will run for the first seven months of the following years. However I think a patch for it would be technically a crack as it is proprietary software with restrictions on launching.2 points

If they post spam, they will get banned. Not going to do anything about those two accounts at this time.1 point

Go to Tools ---> Preferences ---> Tabs Uncheck "Close the window when the last tab is closed". @AstroSkipper said: Yes, that also works.1 point

Indeed it doesn't! It's now stuffed with so much bloat, they even managed to crapify it with "VK" app. From what I understand, it's some sort of a Russian dating website! The App is un-deletable, and Opera connects to Russian developers' website with very questionable content, not to mention that Russian social website.1 point

1ghz dual core with 2 or 4Gb of ram for Windows 11 IoT LTSC??!? Is this a joke?1 point

Memory usage of UXP based browser really explodes on certain websites, eg. new Reddit. The base memory usage of other browsers doesn't increase as much. Difference between 150 - 300 MB and a whooping gigabyte or more is not so negligible. I'm wondering what's a technical explanation for such difference.1 point

I don't know what to think about the future, all I read/hear about are wars and microplastics everywhere. Not that long ago I watched the documentary, didn't pick on title or just forgot, but it basically said something along the lines that sources of drinking water are being depleted at alarming rate, faster than they can be replenished. And we're just going about our daily lives like automatons. Tomorrow's just another work day. It's all so absurd.1 point

And that's why it makes no sense at all. Using ProxHTTPSProxy does it definitely better. Or a more recent Chromium version as, for example, Thorium.1 point

@win32 I just noticed your repo return 404. Hope this issue is temporary. But I quess progwrp.dll should looks like virus container without published source (I understand why you have not published source) Btw, I have noticed various issues on my machine when upgraded to latest progwrp.dll and R6 Supermium. I need to check what caused it, But I think using 5002 on XP x64 was fine with R3 without freezing on basic search on Google. My XP machine is powerful enough and nothing else was changed.1 point

Yes, the page above is the official Supermium website. And the account was flagged for "spamming". as I found out when trying to export the repository directly from GitHub to GitLab. The repositories were not deleted, but they are hidden from public view along with my account itself. At the time of this incident, I had built Chromium 124-based Supermium and it worked on XP (x86 and x64). But I still had a few deficiencies to correct before even a pre-release, specifically graphical glitches with GPU enabled, some upstream UI bugs, plus other outstanding bugs reported recently. Other features such as a UA/UACH spoofer and UI customization were being worked on as well. I reiterate that there is no malware in Supermium, progwrp, its installer and its uninstaller.1 point

That link was supplied by @UCyborg. I never heard of it before. I don't know whether it's official or not. Nothing to worry about. No illegal content there.1 point

Like I already explained, it's something very strange because the page had been cleansed out completely, they made it look like nothing ever was there. We all need to demand explanations. And like Dixel said, win32 please get back.1 point

@win32, come back to MSFN, I promise we'll bust down all haters and create a pleasant atmosphere for you to return! I personally ask @Dave-H to supervise! Guthub dust bin doesn't deserve to have you! I promise I'll stop writing about brightness. And here we have a good place to collaborate.1 point

The win32ss account on GitHub was flagged for an unspecified reason. I am going through the appeal process to restore it, but I will make sure the repository surfaces somewhere else such as GitLab even if GitHub does accept the appeal.1 point

I don't agree. When a takedown happens, they freaking write it was a takedown! A recent example was when they took down Rabinovitch's "cra_ked" Chrome and Opera. In this case it had been cleared out completely.1 point

Also scanned just the supermium folder (without the installer) (scroll down, bad link). Glad to help.1 point

I checked this page not long before it got silently deleted without any announcement. I find it strange, if you ask me. Remember they made a dedicated thread about their fake page? I'm sure they would've written in advance in such serious case. Fishy, very fishy. And the timing of @66catsreport indeed matches the deletion!1 point
-
Holy Hell! It's indeed 404. No page anymore. Probably too early to freak out? Or not? I mean, win32 always seemed like a nice guy to me, on the other hand, why the full deletion, esp, without any announcement?1 point

What does it have to do with the reported issue on github? The 1st image clearly shows the difference. https://github.com/win32ss/supermium/issues/6271 point

And you might wanna read my posts (and all the users/others, too), I only get the excessive Brightness with the two clones/non-clones/whatever_they_call_them, I mean Supermium and Thornium. So, why would I change my settings?1 point

It turns out that it is supposed to be a commercial product: https://github.com/win32ss/supermium/issues/29#issuecomment-18219360511 point
