Answered this question for one millionth time, just three pots above yours. You'd probably see it, if reduced your one word or one emoji postings. Like "nope". or "" Explained the issues in details here and here.5 points

No, I'm the pillar of politeness, it wasn't me, it was Jody, something about "newbie format police". Wrong again, misinterpret what I wrote, clearly on purpose, to make me look bad, I wrote "your last posts here (in this topic)", and I stand by my words, as clearly seen by your post I'm replying to. What you oftenly write is offensive, meaningless and destructive to the community of MSFN. Look at you last posts, again. Think of how to try to be polite and friendly.5 points

And because of that glued upon UI, Vivaldi is heavy. I don't want Supermium be like Vivaldi. I'm perfectly fine without that custom UI, in fact, I'd like to see a clear, de-cluttered UI.4 points

And so that you don't get the impression that everything in the Pale Moon forum is hostile and unfair, here's a post from back2themoon, the creator of the thread "New uBlock Origin version released (Special mod by @AstroSkipper)", who has something positive and factual to say about my mod uBlock Origin Legacy: Source: https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=30787&sid=feea3eb912a653ba49c1fb3c2bc447f3&start=60#p248386 Many thanks to back2themoon for this fair and factual contribution!3 points

Took me a year and then some to find this out. Maybe I shouldn't have. Would've thought everybody was here, as always, him included. Would've thought everything's just fine. But there it is... One of us - another one - has left for a while; just for a little Eternity and a day, and then who knows, maybe there will be a full board up there somewhere... Useless to repeat all the good things that have already been thought of, written, and/or spoken about Den. We all know how he was and what he did here. We will all miss him dearly. May he rest in peace! 🙏2 points

What jumper posted is actually something like (without the spaces) this: b o o t [ i ] . [ / i ] i n i the part inside the square brackets is what tells the board software that the dot between the two sets of square brackets is to be rendered as italic. Just like you do not see the square brackets, when you copy and paste you do not have them. In any case that is just a string and you cannot execute a string, the file with that name is a plain text configuration file and anyway it is never executed, the lines inside that file are parsed and then IF valid, used as parameters for the use of NTLDR (and the parser is quite strict). A file name is NEVER executed, and even IF it was a file, a .ini file is NOT executed. In DOS/WINDOWS the extension (what is after the dot in file names) is a way to identify a file type and take actions depending on it. jaclaz2 points

It had NOTHING to do with you being a girl. In fact I make no judgements of gender. We're all equals here. So let's not turn this into a direction that it never had to go into.2 points

Yep, MTV's some nice memories indeed! Take Duran Duran or Depeche Mode, for example. I recently googled MTV, they still exist, but I'm not sure why, I mean what for? I'm posting this HTTPS link as a posting test. @roytam1 https://www.mtv.com/ OK good night and see ya'll tomorrow.. Over and out2 points

Perhaps it has something to do with MSFN not being MTV? Just my guess.2 points

Let me explain, @jaclazmade this topic to see what exactly triggers the forum software posting block, you don't need to have doubts in @jaclaz's actions, trust me.2 points

I think @D.Draker actually meant @UCyborg but he mixed it up a bit as @UCyborg is from Slovenia. Yep, that's why I am on the sunny side of the street. The motherboard of my old computer is from 2000. Therefore, no problems here to use all old DOS tools. It must be an advantage to be a dinosaur for once. By the way, HDAT2 has always been part of my emergency collection of CDs/DVDs.2 points

That's what low level format means nowadays. So not no but yes. Before disposing of or smashing a hard disk, one should explore and try all options. I have said before, I am a non-believer. So no faith here in anything. Trial and error is an appropiate method, though.2 points

OT: Unfortunately not! I know this shop but I have never ordered anything there. BTW, that a shop is a German one says nothing about the quality of offered hardware, which in most cases is of Asian origin anyway nowadays. For old, already used hardware, I prefer eBay or eBay Kleinazeigen, and for new hardware, Amazon and some real shops in my surrounding.2 points

In case any of you missed it, Enhancer for YouTube has been updated. The manifest's Chrome min-ver is v120 but I've been using in Ungoogled v114 and everything seems to be working.1 point

It was mentioned here. I suppose it could have a dedicated thread. The new version was released few hours ago.1 point

Vivaldi has it and while the rest of the UI is still custom rendered like Chrome, it's much expanded functionality-wise compared So it could be done, but people would always find something to complain about. Am I the only one who finds all these browser discussions really monotone at this point? The only odd XPs I still see in the wild once in the blue moon have Firefox 52 or Chrome 49 at best, so probably not much (any?) web browsing is done on them.1 point

Both! But brightness is something that bothers more. Ugly, bold fonts are better visible here. Seems like you don't read all posts. https://msfn.org/board/topic/185045-supermium/?do=findComment&comment=12597241 point

I thought you were disscussing about the fonts rendering. I couldn't notice any ''ugly, thick, red, blurry areals''...1 point

And again, only half-truths and falsehoods in the Pale Moon forum by our "friend" athenian200, in a thread that is not the official support thread of my mod uBlock Origin Legacy: Source: https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=30787&sid=feea3eb912a653ba49c1fb3c2bc447f3&start=60#p248309 Why does someone who spreads so many untruths and half-knowledge think he can give advice, especially when he has discredited himself so much with an inadequate examination and disastrous conclusions? Unbelievable! He shouldn't gloss over mistakes he has made, but rather apologise to his readers for the nonsense which he spread there. Read here: https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=30787&sid=feea3eb912a653ba49c1fb3c2bc447f3&start=60#p248292 The only thing that is really true in his stories is that he has no idea about extensions. Here is a quotation from the linked post above: Anyway! If one had read the changelogs I provided, one would have realised that not only filter lists were changed. Please, ignore what this guy is saying there! Form your own independent and uninfluenced opinion! Therefore, I advise everyone to read here or ask questions here to get factually correct answers or information when it comes to my mod uBlock Origin Legacy. Kind regards, AstroSkipper1 point

I'm a bit CLUELESS as to the rampant speculation regarding "win32" and why he does or does not post here at MSFN. He seldom posts, period, this is NOT his HOME. For those of us who do make this our HOME, why in Hades do we assume that others do the same?1 point
-
For those who may think this thread is visited regularly by win32, I just want to remind them that this thread was created and owned by Dibya, and that the first and only time win32 participated in it was in september 2023 (first page), about right before an apparently very sensitive to brightness participant complained about "excessive brightness", something only one other participant in this thread has complained about. For them: try dark mode/dark ui flags, they work flawlessly and, as the whole supermium package, for free.1 point
-
I'm sorry, but that sort of thinking is taking this all WAY TOO PERSONALLY! And sure, you can stop by one of my thread's and make comparisons to something else. That's called "discussion". At the end of the day, it's just technology. By the way no one owns threads here. Even on Roytam1s and NotHere's threads, people make comparisons to things. For example, a few posts yet, I praised Supermium because it game Vista a real contender for the modern web. It beats out Roytam1s and NotHere's offerings (in my mind). So by your logic, are we not allowed to say that? It's perfectly a relevant comparison.1 point

Seeing it successfully posted, I'm leaning more and more towards a newly implemented anti-bot, anti-hacker prevention system in the forum software that filters out bad IP and possible copyright infringements.1 point

Someone already tried playing the game Mortal Kombat 1 (2023 remake) using the October Kernel?1 point

I would backup all accessable data and perform then a low level format. Then you can check whether the pending sectors have been remapped or not. Exactly that I did successfully in the past using a low level format tool from WD (I don't know its name at the moment) and Spinrite 6.0.1 point

If "Made in Germany" or another imprint suggesting German production is found on electronic components, this does not mean that the part was produced entirely in Germany. The production costs in Germany are far too high. Therefore, most of it is produced abroad and perhaps finished here. Purely German, electronic components are certainly rather rare. You shouldn't fool yourself about that. The end consumer is just getting screwed anyway.1 point

Thank you! So far all is good. All my four IDE hard disk in my Windows XP computer are in an excellent condition. And I have two Dawicontrol SATA PCI cards on reserve. But I hope I do not have to use them. I think I would even rather change the motherboard.1 point

Of course, not! The last years, only from time to time. All for nostalgic and rather sentimental reasons! It's just contemporary history. And I have always been an Atari fan.1 point

Best bet is to use Connectix Virtual PC 5.1.370. You can run Windows 7 on it on Windows 98 SE. (Make sure CPUID limit in BIOS is enabled, apparently this makes it work)1 point
