  1. I have just created a new mod of uBlock Origin Legacy. No copy and paste from the webextensions of uBlock Origin any longer due to incompatibilities. All filter lists can now be updated properly, at least there are no errors at the moment. I removed the self-update mechanism of the internal list which contain the default filter lists. I added the filter list "uBlock filters – Quick fixes" to the default ones. Both, the new filter list "filters-2024.txt" and the one from last year "filters-2023.txt" are now inside the xpi file and can be retrieved correctly. From now on, we will get the update of these filters, too. Furthermore, I solved the annoyance with the timestamp of some filter lists. Now, the timestamps are shown correctly. Inside the xpi file, all filter lists have been replaced by the most recent ones to be more recent after installing without immediate updating. I am now in testing mode. Cheers, AstroSkipper

  2. Before releasing this new version, I have corrected my latest release uBlock Origin Legacy 1.16.4.31b2-1.54.0 from this post: Now, it is fully working. No problems any longer when updating the filter lists. The new filter list "filters-2024.txt" is now inside the xpi file and can be retrieved correctly. Inside the xpi file, all filter lists have been replaced by the most recent ones to be more recent after installing without immediate updating. Additionally, I lowered the minVersion for Pale Moon from 28.0 to 27.0 to also install it in New Moon 27 which, for example, @roytam1 seems to use. Please re-download this corrected release from the linked post above especially if you already downloaded the old one! Please, test this special version and report here! Any feedback is of course welcome! Cheers, AstroSkipper

  3. Looks like you had been scammed, in the original 50USD post they wrote about the 9th gen., yours is the seventh gen., even older, not to mention they write about high end models, not the budget ones. Also Euro currency is higher than USD.

  6. Right! Not only he hosts links to crack forums, the main subject of the cracked Chrome is a violation. People just don't get, while Chromiuim code is open source, Chrome - no!

  7. 1- 64-bit processor - so? Are there non 64 even left? 2- 4 GB of RAM - so? - is this a joke? 3 - a minimum of 64GB storage - is this a joke? My 2003 laptop had a 120GB Fujitsu HDD (over two decades ago!) 4 - UEFI is about fifteen years around us. Goodbye BIOS, hello UEFI https://www.computerworld.com/article/2826910/goodbye-bios--hello-uefi.html 5 - DirectX 12-compatible GPU, doesn't mean Feature 12_0, you can still use ancient crap with DX10/11.

  9. Here's the original extension thread on the Mozillazine forums: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=1659985 Apparently, there even existed a dev version 2.0.2, but it's nowhere to be found now ... Right ; the extension (v2.0.1) installs out-of-the-box in my dirty St52 profile, though it does need a browser restart to properly work... Works as intended in my dirty St52 profile here: Are you, by any chance, running St52 in the hack-y, unsupported, multi-process mode? The extension was initially created at a time e10s was not even an idea for the Mozilla Firefox browser ; in any case, I, too, can confirm that SBSP-2.0.1 works OK in my (2023-12-15) St52 copy, in the default, supported, single-process mode...

  10. The predecessor of Bookmark Search Plus 2 from aaFn is Sidebar Bookmarks Search Plus from White Alice0775. This extension can be found in the Classic Add-ons Archive: caa:addon/sidebar-bookmarks-search-plus The last version is Sidebar Bookmarks Search Plus 2.0.1. You presumably have to adjust the maxVersion inside the install.rdf file. This extension is very old. So whether it is working in Serpent 52 or not, you will see then. I personally didn't test it. 12. I have the same question. RDR2 now updated itself and started to demand even a higher driver version! Every time I try to start the game it says " Please update your driver. Game requires 446.14 or newer." Help is appreciated.

  13. Hello there ; I became aware a while ago via this reference below (in another forum thread ) : ... and I can still verify this today: Can a member of the mod team kindly share some additional info with regards to this decision? Is it something temporary and if yes, how long will this measure last for? I'm not that preoccupied myself though , if anything, it'll stop "persons" from further "cloning" their MSFN accounts (you know, those ones that many existing members - including me - are convinced they exist, but no-one, including the mods, can, beyond doubt, prove they belong to the same physical person ), still it'd be welcome if some clarification on its implementation was communicated to plain members... Kindest regards (BTW, Happy Halloween to those that observe it!) .

  15. That's related to how CAA shows extensions. You could throw out max version check:

  17. It is probably common that spammers create multiple accounts all at the same time. We don't really have any reason to look at the registration queue like I've known others to do on other sites.

  18. Hmm... Didn't encounter that here. Btw, for these Malware filters you can also use these mirrors: https://curbengh.github.io/malware-filter/urlhaus-filter-ag-online.txt https://curbengh.github.io/phishing-filter/phishing-filter.txt

  19. I use https://curbengh.github.io/malware-filter/urlhaus-filter-online.txt and have removed the obsolete link from rhe code of the internal list. BTW, from now on, I try to avoid GitLab links if possible. GitLab causes errors (see the uBlock Logger) as they force the user to login into their account.

  20. Yes, the URL has to be changed. Known issue (old post, so some things may have changed) https://gitlab.com/malware-filter/urlhaus-filter#lite-version-online-links-only I have added the proper URL to "Custom". I use the Adguard one (see commit 402e2eb). https://malware-filter.gitlab.io/malware-filter/urlhaus-filter-ag-online.txt

  21. As for my mod uBlock Origin Legacy 1.16.4.31b2-1.54.0, it worked properly last year but the changes the uBlock admins have performed in terms of the year 2024 at the end of 2023 cause unfortunately some problems when updating the filter list "uBlock filters - Ads". I have to examine this issue more deeply the next days.

  22. @nicolaasjan The original, untouched version uBlock Origin Legacy 1.16.4.31b2 performs again properly the updating process of its filter lists (including the list filters-2024.txt) except for the list "Online Malicious URL Blocklist". Did you also observe this error? In any case, I found the cause of this issue and had to also edit the code of this version to fix it.

  23. Those laughable "Multiple key barriers" looks more like a requirement from 2007 to run Windows Vista. That's exactly what I bought in 2007, so nothing outrageous to ask for at the end of 2025!

  24. Looks like registration is now restored. Unique Birthday Parties, two CEO1861's, and three Grug's looks a bit Spammy. The "wtf" looks suspicious as well.

  26. The forum software appears to have scrambled that link; luckily, it works if you copy and paste instead of trying to click it! But maxVersion does seem to prevent CAA from offering an "install" button. You have to download it someplace, then drag-and-drop to the add-ons manager page. Not a big deal, but it is an extra step.

  27. I have revised my opinion a little, as the list is apparently still being updated despite the unrecognisable timestamp.

  28. It predates that Frankenstein UI that is Australis. Edit: Never mind, should work on Serpent 52, at least does on clean profile. maxVersion is enforced only when strictCompatibility is enabled.

  30. Correction: Clément Lecigne is actually from Switzerland. What do you folks think, is this scary enough? Skia is used for 2D rendering, not good at all.

  31. I tried the following, on a win-7 system and also a win-10 system that were both showing this behavior: internet properties / security tab / local intranet / sites - uncheck "automatically detect intranet network" local intranet / custom level / miscellaneous section - drag and drop or copy and paste files (enable) - launching programs and unsafe files (enable) The above did not change anything. I then found this: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/these-files-cant-be-opened-in-windows Which had the following reg edits (done from an administrative command prompt): reg add "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Associations" /v "DefaultFileTypeRisk" /t REG_DWORD /d "1808" /f reg add "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Attachments" /v "SaveZoneInformation" /t REG_DWORD /d "1" /f And that DID fix the issue. On both systems. A reboot was not required. It's really confusing why right-clicking on a zip file on a network share comes back with a security message warning of "opening" the file. I'm not trying to open the file when I right-click on it to bring up the context options. Why is that such a big security issue? (on both systems, I think that winrar was the default handler for zip files, would that make a difference here?)

  34. In Firefox 4, the status bar was replaced with the add-on bar, an empty, but customizable, toolbar. In Firefox 29, Mozilla decided to rework the UI again, and ended up in removing the add-on bar as well. From Firefox 29 to 56, the add-on bar could be restored by the extensions Status-4-Evar or Classic Theme Restorer. Mypal 68 is based on the code of Firefox 68esr, called Firefox Quantum, where no add-on bar can be found or natively be enabled by the user. Therefore, I have been looking for ways to reimplement such a status or add-on bar in Mypal 68 with the functionality to display currently loading URLs and hovered links and to place toolbar buttons there. I finally managed to do this and now I have my status bar again like in the old days. The implementation was done by JavaScript and CSS. Here is a screenshot: Cheers, AstroSkipper

  35. New drivers are a scam. I now have a Keppler card (link) and old driver 352.94 gives me much better fps with Injustice 2, Injustice 2 (link) is a 2018 game! Who would have thought... Driver from this tutorial is also much better than the new ones.

  37. same here no clue, despite the "how" it was discovered, should it really matter? needs fixed regardless of how it was found, correct? or if MSFN is no longer accepting new members, shouldn't that be revealed to existing members? at any rate, i'm not concerned with the "why" or the "how" it was found if the mods didn't know about it, then why throw stones at the person that brought it to their attention? i guess that's how i see it -- "why throw stones?"
