  1. I didn't notice that as I don't use these filters. I will have a look into that when I am at my desktop computer again. But I'm not at all surprised if incompatibilities occur at some point. Finally, I have transferred the filter lists from the webextension 1.49.2 to the legacy extension 1.16.4.31b2. In any case, thanks for reporting! @nicolaasjan! I found the crux of all these issues. Only copy and paste the content of the assets folder doesn't seem to be sufficient anymore. I am currently in the process of creating a new, special mod. More about that in my thread Extensions and custom buttons for UXP browsers - Corrections, modifications, adjustments, and special recommendations as soon as possible.

  2. uBlock Origin Legacy can be installed and works in MailNews. Here is a screenshot taken from my installation: Go to my post uBlock Origin Legacy modified by @AstroSkipper - Part 3 and download my latest mod uBlock0_1.16.4.31b2-1.49.2.firefox-legacy-filter-lists-mod-by-@AstroSkipper.xpi! 3. FWIW, the site can't be opened in Firefox 121 either (for me at least). Only recent Chromium opens it, but "Show CSS" is empty as well. Style does not install. Yep, I fear that the userstyles.org website has a fundamental problem, apart from its sluggishness when loading in NM28 and SP52. I have the latest browsers on my Android tablet, and they all show {} instead of the CSS code. Therefore, I consider this website, even if it can be loaded in many browsers, to be completely unusable for the provision of CSS code which is, of course, the actual purpose of this service. PS: And it doesn't matter whether one is logged in or not. Just tested.

  4. It is on-topic , actually ! Since this update allows the extended kernel to be installed . I mean the new version of this kernel from this topic . Before you put another label , I suggest to try it yourself . I still don't know if I'm ready to use every day , though . It made my PC a bit slower , perhaps it's just placebo , I have to test further.

  6. Narrowed down to the dreaded defender . I deleted it from the ISO (before the install) , installed this update again , no errors since. Fake ? Well , I'm not the ony one who had reported the same . Reported on April 28th, 2019 at 06:47 : Removing the Monthly Rollup relieves the problem. This machine is running Windows Defender. https://www.askwoody.com/2019/problems-reported-with-this-months-server-2008-monthly-rollup-kb-4493471/

  7. Nah , it was a clean windows Vista SP2 (no progs). Sorry for the late reply . Somehow , I was able to boot and deleted this junk from safe mode . Yet it left numerous traces , for example inside winsxs. Again , I don't have Avast , I think I wrote it . Anyways , thanks for the explanations.

  8. I tried that update , I'm getting BSOD right now , started to search for this exact error and found this . Besides , KB4493471 was superseded by KB4499149 (released May 14 , 2019) ! "Facing Wind23k.sys BSOD on Windows 2008 SP2 on normal boot. Uninstalling KB4493471 from Windows Safe Mode solved the BSOD" https://www.askwoody.com/forums/topic/problems-reported-with-this-months-server-2008-monthly-rollup-kb-4493471/ And no , I don't have Avast installed. Someone please tell what is windows6.0-kb4489887-x64 and I don't fully understand what they have to do with extended kernel , I have none. Thank you.

  11. Thanks! Note that: "AdGuard URL Tracking Protection" won't work. It uses a newer syntax ($removeparam), not supported by Legacy... "uBlock filters - Resource abuse" was moved to "Custom" ("Aangepast" in Dutch) because it is now redundant (used 0 out of 57). It is merged with "uBlock filters - Privacy" (see here). There seems to be some bug with "Annoyances"( "Storende elementen" in Dutch). Clicking on '+' does nothing...: Maybe some more tweaking is needed?

  13. Same here. The CSS code of youtube-nyan-cat-progress-bar-video-player-theme can't be obtained from userstyles.org in New Moon 28, Serpent 52 or Mypal 68. Only in New Moon 28 (old profile) and Serpent 52, the website https://userstyles.org/styles/95033/youtube-nyan-cat-progress-bar-video-player-theme opens but same black window only containing "{ }" which you posted above. In New Moon 28 (fresh profile) and Mypal 68, the website cannot be opened at all.

  16. 1 - It's good we are on the same page regarding fake posts and off-topic users ! 2 - About the style . You know , we (Europeans) are quite frank people . If we see fake news , we call it fake news , not the other way around . Also , we don't use the infamous californian "highly-likely style" of writing . So no sentences like "somewhat fixed" , "partially working" , etc. Lemme give you some examples from the local papers: "the antivirus software is highly likely developed by the KGB" , no we don't use it that way. We say "developed by KGB" , if we are not sure , then there's no such "news". From this thread : "Installing KB4493471 will fix it somewhat". No , we would say : "Installing KB4493471 will not fix it". It's either working or not . Otherwise, it's a piece of vapourware, esp. considering zero proof. Could you help me to obtain a more (soft?) style , maybe ? Do I have to start my posts with smth like this ? "Girls , guys , everyone in-between , others who are to decide who they are , we are having a nasty weather today , if no one's offended by this fact , please let me know and I shall continue ..." Would it be OK ? Or maybe I need to start with guys so they won't be offended ? What about the rest then ? Please let me know . Have a nice day/morning/evening/afternoon/supper/dinner/breakfast/lunch, etc .

  17. Hi , I didn't give you my driver 373.19 , so I can't comment on yours. Also , your question belongs to the "drivers for Vista section" , not here. I repeat again , my 373.19 works on Vista , but it's a paid driver made by Siemens and can be shared only with the owner of this website , supervisors and win32 to help with the kernel development , I don't want some very wrong folks to get their hands on it.

  18. 1 - I declare this to be fake news / vapourware under section 4.e of the forum rules https://msfn.org/board/guidelines/. @Vistapocalypse is absolutely right , there's no confirmation or any info from Microsoft at all . There's zero proof . In the article you mentioned , it says "Summary Customers who have applied KB4489887 or later Monthly Rollup Packages to Microsoft Server 2008 SP2 may notice a change to the operating system version string." Well , I read about it too : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/build-number-changing-to-6003-in-windows-server-2008-1335e4d4-c155-52eb-4a45-b85bd1909ca8 "Addresses an issue with a Microsoft Access 97 (!) database ..." and some Asian language/time fixes for Japanese and Quazaqians , etc . More here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/march-19-2019-kb4489887-preview-of-monthly-rollup-d05eafca-6fd3-1106-6f42-fba0a558ac27 I tested myself and [of course] it doesn't do what you claim it supposed to do. Besides , you post in the wrong section , even if they allow this to exist , it belongs to the update section , not the ex-kernel . I'd like to ask the supervisors , moderators @Tripredacus , @Dave-H to intervene and delete his and other posts regarding this no-existent "fix" (vapourware).

  20. Hi @XPerceniol, in mypal68, Chamaleon (successor of legacy xul random user agent extension) allows you to fake your screen size, among other things. It won't protect you from super-agent Maxwell Smart (CONTROL), but it will keep your privacy with most sites, unless you whitelist them (as you have to with the e-oligololy).

  24. If you ask me, it's all in the hands of the few very rich individuals owning large corporations, private jets, yachts, whatever. You holding onto that ancient Windows XP computer? Please... Get this, our so called president preaches to us common folks that we should get by with less while she herself is using a private yet. I won't go out of the way to save the environment, but I won't feel guilty buying something new every once in a while either.

  27. Hi there!I'll check if adblocker installs and works in mailnews. My main interest is https://github.com/AdguardTeam/cname-trackers, which works in ublock (but ublock 1.16 doesn't work in mailnews). I will test with adblocker or other similar. Thanks!

  28. Hello Miranda. I don't use mailnews. What I can tell you -if it's relevant- is that when uBlock fails to block any ads I block them with Adblocker Ultimate 2.26. Those are the only two extensions I use for ads and I use them simultaneously. They complement each other quite well. I used uMatrix in the past but I abandoned it because Serpent behaved in a very heavy way and the pages took a long time to load. I realized that I don't need such a powerful tool.

  30. ... Problems with the "userstyles.org" portal and UXP-based browsers have been well documented here, especially since the site adopted its new "atrocious" web design... At the end of December 2023, things have gotten really dire ... In latest NM28 [v28.10.7a1 (32-bit) (2023-12-21)], trying to simply load: https://userstyles.org/ will get you nowhere ; Web Console prints: The resource from “https://userstyles.org/” was blocked due to MIME type mismatch (X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff). Creating a SSUAO with the passe-partout value of just "Chrome" will get you in... general.useragent.override.userstyles.org;Chrome ... But... Selecting a specific userstyle, e.g. https://userstyles.org/styles/95033/youtube-nyan-cat-progress-bar-video-player-theme will bring a popup window; we already know from the past that the "Install Style" button there simply does nothing, even if you have a style manager already installed; it appears that button ONLY works when the "Stylish" Chrome extension is installed (on a Chromium-based browser, of course...). Some months ago, it was still possible to get the actual CSS code for the userstyle itself by scrolling down the popup window and clicking on the "SHOW CSS" area; however, currently, this procedure would only generate an EMPTY black overlay, devoid of the sought for CSS code : @AstroSkipper, can you kindly check if you can reproduce ? If I can't grab any CSS code anymore from "userstyles.org", it's totally useless now for me in the context of St52/St55/NM28 ... To add insult to injury, specific userstyle pages no longer load even in 360EEv13.x/Kafan MiniBrowser: Application error: a client-side exception has occurred (see the browser console for more information). Don't have Mypal68 here - I doubt it would work, either... Damn those web-frameworks targeting exclusively last week's Chrome release...

  33. uBlock Origin Legacy modified by @AstroSkipper - Part 3 (obsolete) I have again updated uBlock Origin Legacy 1.16.4.31b2 in terms of the filter lists taken from the most recent webextension uBlock Origin 1.49.2. Here is the complete changelog of what I have modified: The file assets.json replaced by the most recent one. Missing filter lists in the folders thirdparties and ublock added. Existing filter lists in the folders thirdparties and ublock updated. Version number changed to 1.16.4.31b2-1.49.2 to clearly see which version the source files were taken from. And here is the download link of uBlock0_1.16.4.31b2-1.49.2.firefox-legacy-filter-lists-mod-by-@AstroSkipper.xpi: https://www.mediafire.com/file/q8u6qc8ahjag5tw/uBlock0_1.16.4.31b2-1.49.2.firefox-legacy-filter-lists-mod-by-%40AstroSkipper.xpi/file And finally, an important recommendation to get a new installation of uBlock Origin Legacy working properly and flawlessly. After uninstalling the previous version (yes, the old version should be uninstalled), delete all remnants via about:config and in your profile folder! The remnants of uBlock Origin which can be viewed via about:config can be easily removed by the extension eCleaner. And in your profile folder, there is a file in the subfolder extension-data called ublock0.sqlite which has to be removed manually. Delete the browser cache, too! If doing so, the updating of the filter lists will work like a charm after installing the new version. All users who have important, individual settings or rules should backup them before cleaning their profile folder. On the dashboard page, there is an item called "Back up to file"" to save the user's settings via uBlock itself. Cheers, AstroSkipper

This is a pity as I have a lifetime premium license. Have a look into Malwarebytes's forum and you will see! Even their support could not help me in the end! I had these problems at that time when Avast was my antivirus program under Windows XP. As you know, I already uninstalled it, deleted all remnants of Avast and cleaned my system partition completely. Maybe, I'll give Malwarebytes Premium for Windows 3.5.1.2522 another try one day.
