So how is this different to FurMark ? Highest possible GPU clocks + 100% load + locked at 120FPS is exactly the same torture test as furmark does . It will actually go lower if your game in fact "does" something . In menus they design them to run this way , I observed the same behaviour with my GTX980 and now with Titan X.

The title is wrong, no such thing as "GTX Titan X Pascal" exists, however, there's GTX Titan XP, I own one GTX Titan X, it runs hot, noisy, no huge difference between it and the Black one, except the VRAM amount, I shouldn't advise GTX Titan X to the worst enemy, stay away. 1080Ti runs well with my 378.78 modded driver. But yeah, like Dixel said, the picture is acid.

A lot has happened to me and I don't even know where to start; but I'll try. 1st: I got Covid In April and lost all of my functions in including (what's left of) my mind and I'm far from recovered yet - not 100% 2nd: I was evicted from the housing I was living and I'm now in a group home that is just down the street from where I used to live. One-by-one they were evicting handicap disabled folks to turn the building into luxury housing and I was on that list; sadly. I''m a little safer here but I'm also limited on how much time I can spend online. 3rd: My Peace Lilly died. I'm happy to be back here as I've always considered this my home. @66cats Just copy and paste acpi.sys into the Setup folder AMD64 before building the XPSP2bit64.iso via Nlite. No need to compress it there. On reboot of install, acpi.sys is changed back to the original version. Just copy acpi.sys one time more into Windows\system32\drivers. If you dont like, that the acpi.sys is changed back to its original one, you have also to put acpi.sys into SP2.cab folder (of XP bit64 SP2) Dietmar

Thank you for checking; it sounds like the problem I had isn't a simple bug, but more likely, it seems, a conflict between something in the 10.26 build and one of my add-ons or custom settings. (It works in earlier builds, even with all the same add-ons and settings.) These kinds of problems are a bear to debug. Maybe I'll get lucky and the 11.10 version will just work; otherwise, it's try with a clean profile; try safe mode; try disabling half my add-ons, etc., etc. Hmm... methinks upstream must have "fixed" something else which wasn't broken. Mozilla may have too (I haven't tried a modern FF build). Exe's aren't my main concern, but St 55 has always been able to open them (if I'm feeling lucky) or save them.

As one of the youngest people on MSFN, and also have had my several moments of thoughts like these, a lot of it to me boils down to the truth about how we see the world. Me, along with many others my age, see the world in a very pessimistic sense. We see and hear of all the events of mass shootings (especially in the west), increasing cost of living, more and more jobs being replaced by computers, and the continuous argument of each side constantly berating each other to death. If its okay to be transgender, if its okay to be gay, if its okay to do anything, really. We look at the world and just see it as something falling apart and our generation having to be the one to deal with it. The internet has reduced social contact significantly, and many of us are still recovering from the years of isolation especially during the pandemic. Not to mention the unstable politics in the east, with Russia / Ukraine, Palestine / Israel, it really doesn't give us much positivity in the future when all we hear is how horrible the world is. I personally had thoughts of ending it all when I felt like there was no hope. Most people typically have those thoughts when they feel there's no reason to live their life and that everything will continue to be suffering. Especially when we are told to just man up, and deal with it. The younger generation as a whole really values the comfort of living a happy life much, much more than having to work ourselves to death just to make ends meet. A lot of us just want to live happy lives with our friends and close partners. We want to live and be the person we aspire to be, express ourselves not limited to a certain construct, and just be our best self. But the idea that you lose your soul as you get older, are forced into certain restrictions just for society... its a thought that a lot of people can't swallow. I'd love to see a future where people can come together on their differences and make a change for the best interests of the people, not for the best interests of people who agree with you. I'd love to see a future where things are fair and that you can actually get an education for cheap, be able to live for cheap, since we are all humans on this planet. Why does anyone have to be more important than someone else? This is our home. There are no other homes out there for us. We need to respect this planet that supports all of our lives. Battling each other until the death, even if it is human nature, will really be what causes the human extinction. Ourselves. Mental health is so utterly important right now, the focus of humanity needs to really push into improving the health of everyone worldwide, physically and mentally. Along with ensuring both males, females, and however else you identify yourself as, are all treated equally. But even then, its not a problem that can be solved unless the entire world meets and agrees on our problems, and most countries actually take a stand to improve it in response. I just want the future to be exciting, man. But in reality a lot of us aren't excited. We really are fearing the future. We will likely see this as the numbers of young parents will decrease as newer generations decide to not have children.

I would say that you are much better off with build 1030 over 2044. With each and every new "upstream" build, all that was really added was just more and more telemetry to track down and remove. 1030 uses the v86 engine. 2044 uses the v86 engine. You don't really gain anything but "risk" by using 2044 over 1030. 2036 was tested by a larger audience so higher probability of finding unwanted connections so it should be trusted above 2044.

I use Mypal 68 in single-process mode from the very first time. I never had any BSODs, neither when running nor when closing the browser. Recently, I tested this browser in multiprocess mode. Even in this mode, I didn't notice any crashes or BSODs. But the RAM consumption by this browser in multiprocess mode is terrible in contrast to the single-process mode. To reduce this RAM consumption I therefore rebased the file xul.dll. This way I was able to reduce the memory consumption in both modes. But I personally will definitely stay in single-process mode.

On Windows XP, Process Explorer v16.32 works, but doesn't show the menu bar icons and graphs. Therefore, a less recent version than 16.32 will be more suitable. But unfortunately, Process Explorer doesn't have the above mentioned, additional security features of Process Hacker. BTW, I already wrote about other task managers like Process Explorer: All in terms of security programmes, of course! Process Explorer as a task manager is really good. It's portable and easy to use.

It is very light. No significant CPU load and very little RAM consumption. My computer has a very old single core CPU. So, no problem at all.

Such a startup manager, which controls all startup entries, notifies newly created one, and gives the option to block it, I also consider a security programme. So, it is already on my internal list of security programmes for Windows XP..

I did a second test, but instead of Qihu 360 Total Security 10.8.0.1541, I installed Qihu 360 Total Security Essential 8.8.0.1119 on my second system partition. I can't say anything about the quality of its protection either, but no such bloatware and desktop manager anymore.. The whole installation process is far more pleasant. There is an option to install additionally the browser Opera but you can untick it. Although the program is an older version from 18.12.2019, its virus definitions can still be updated. The installation file is 360TSE_Setup_8.8.0.1119.exe and is unfortunately no longer available on their homepage. But you can find it using a search engine in the internet, for example here: https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/360_total_security_essentials.html I really don't know why this product was abandonded. Particularly annoying is the so-called desktop manager, which is of course installed without being asked and has moved all my icons on the desktop. I don't like this program and can't recommend it. And I miss the main focus on security, but many unnecessary functions instead.
