BTW there is a PR ( https://repo.palemoon.org/MoonchildProductions/UXP/pulls/2276 ) for some JS BigInt support, but it is too late to get in my tree so there will be no UXP based build tomorrow.3 points

Yes, I got the same error on this browser. I've tried several user agents, including mobile android, no luck. Guess I won't order LG, and go buy a Philips instead.2 points

I understand the difference between 86 and 87 isn't big, but have you tried on 87 ported XP minibrowser? Or the 13.0 version of this one, not 13.5?2 points
-
Yes, because it can't allocate memory properly, hence what I wrote before. Since 115/116 they removed the old portions of the code, so you would need to build a new chrome from scratch.2 points

Don't spread falsehoods here. @op since your install source is warez, we cannot help on this forum. Source a legit installation and then we can try again if you are still having a problem.2 points

@Saxon If it (ever) booted it is not a UEFI/BIOS issue. 0x0000007b is inaccessible boot device, so whatever boot device is chosen at the time is likely involved, the error (generally speaking) comes for a missing or mismatched or not working driver. That specific MSI USB drivers can work on a HP laptop would be a strange (I would call it unique) coincidence. And of course you are not going to tell us what it is? jaclaz2 points
-
Both (Vista and 7) don't have USB3.0/1 drivers at all! So to make an install on a modern board, you need to take boot.wim (NOT install.wim) from Windows 8!2 points
-
Not sure why all the hassle then? boot.wim won't add the drivers into your system, it has a temp driver only, for the installation process only! (hence the name "boot")2 points
-
Why not? It works with the new mobos that need USB3.1 drivers for the installation (the ones that don't have PS/2). But he made a mistake, he would have needed to take boot.win, not install.wim from Windows 8, not 7! 7 is too old, and missing these drivers.2 points
-
I don't understand, you succeeded with the "normal" Vista .iso? But the one you Frankensteined does not work? Never heard of taking a Windows 7 install .iso and replacing in it the install.wim, it may be possible to make it work, but I presume that a number of other changes will be needed. Anyway, the 0x0000007b is "Inaccessible boot device" which - usually but not always - is related to the lack of a proper SATA driver. jaclaz2 points

Solution for the error code 0x80244004 while accessing the WU/MU website using ProxHTTPSProxy or HTTPSProxy If getting error code 0x80244004 while accessing the WU/MU website using ProxHTTPSProxy or HTTPSProxy, one should check or perform step 11 of my complete guide for restoring IE's access to WU/MU website using ProxHTTPSProxy or HTTPSProxy in Windows XP. It has to be verified the existence of the patched file wuaueng.dll in the corresponding folders I mentioned in my guide. Be aware of SFC which tries to restore an original, old version of this file! After patching, restart your computer and check again! Now, the WU/MU website should finally work if there are of course no other errors. Cheers, AstroSkipper1 point

if that so why i can boot windows 7 on the same pc without any problem?1 point

Seemingly the guy on that channel uses a "customized" .iso with NTlite adding the Windows 7 MSI USB drivers for his specific motherboard/system to the boot.wim. (of course without giving any meaningful detail on how exactly this was done). He then proceeds to redistribute the modified .iso. So the news are that - [1] - a .iso with a boot.wim with integrated specific MSI USB drivers has issues in a HP laptop. If the .iso is used on a USB stick, which is probably the boot device at the time the BSOD 0x0000007b happens it could well be due to the (wrong/mismatched/whatever) USB drivers. jaclaz [1] Please insert here an adverb, choose among: a. surprisingly b. unexpectedly c. obviously1 point

KeePass, one of the best password managers for Windows, was updated to the version 2.54 on 2023-06-03. It is developed in Germany, open source and therefore free to use. KeePass is still compatible with Windows XP although the system requirements listed on the KeePass download page are Windows 7 and above. For integration into browsers such as New Moon or Serpent, have a look here: Homepage: https://keepass.info/index.html Download: https://keepass.info/download.html Plugins: https://keepass.info/plugins.html Installer for Windows (2.54, not XP-compatible): https://sourceforge.net/projects/keepass/files/KeePass 2.x/2.54/KeePass-2.54-Setup.exe/download Portable (2.54, XP-compatible)): https://sourceforge.net/projects/keepass/files/KeePass 2.x/2.54/KeePass-2.54.zip/download As reported by @UCyborg, the installer version is no longer XP-compatible, but the portable version is which I am using under Windows XP.. Dixel, i dont think you understand what i am talking abt. like you know the usb and other drivers stored in win7 iso so it has the win7 drivers. the only difference is that it installs windows vista insted of 71 point

PassIFox is a good choice to retrieve passwords from KeePass. Especially if there are several accounts for one website. It works with both New Moon 28 and Serpent 52 (and presumably in Serpent 55, too). However, if you also want to store logins in KeePass, you have to go another way. I actually use KeeFox in Serpent 52 for this. It doesn't work in New Moon 28. Both, PassIFox and KeeFox, require special plugins that have to be copied into the Plugins subdirectory in the KeePass programme folder. PassIFox needs the plugin KeePassHttp whereas KeeFox needs the plugin KeePassRPC. Working combinations for KeePass 2.43 I am using myself are: PassIFox 1.2.2 + KeePassHttp 1.8.4.2 KeeFox 1.8.0 + KeePassRPC 1.14.0 These combinations will probably work with more recent versions of KeePass, too. However, arbitrary combinations between extension and plugin do not work, which is the real reason for those listed above. At the moment, KeePass 2.54 (2023-06-03) is the most recent one and still compatible with Windows XP although the system requirements listed on the KeePass download page are Windows 7 and above. I am the developer of Basilisk as of about a year ago. Moonchild is no longer involved with Basilisk directly. I think you should focus on MyPal 68 for now until you think it is stable enough to divide time between two browsers. Until then people can always use Serpent if they need a Firefox 52 type browser for Windows XP. I use Serpent on my Windows 2000 gaming PC with the BWC extended kernel. I'm obviously biased since I am the developer of Basilisk, but it would be cool to see Centaury continue or restart development at some point in the future if you ever have the time.1 point

Yes. In fact, I installed Windows 8 x64 on my laptop yesterday, and am running a full scan this morning. Windows Defender is working normally on both computers.1 point

Hello @feodor2! I would be very happy if Mypal 68 was completely finished first. There are still a few things missing, such as automatic updating of extensions, Internationalisation & Localisation, and so on. But I would be very pleased about further development on Centaury and Waterfox, too. The more different choices in Windows XP, the better. Especially if the coder is such talented as you.1 point

There's a DSDT & SSDT editor (IDE) on Github for this purpose: https://github.com/ic005k/Xiasl (block it in the firewall to prevent its Internet check) Another older DSDT Editor: http://web.archive.org/web/20161108180259if_/http://olarila.com/dsdt/DSDTEditor_Linux_Windows.zip You should then be able to edit your SSDT/DSDT and load patched versions using a boot-time loader: https://github.com/jslegendre/ACPIPatcher Or you can also use Clover, OpenCore, or other loader of choice. Some quick tips: CondRefOf function is also used to verify the return of _OSI "Windows 2009" is Windows 7 & "Windows 2013" is Windows 8.1 Lookup "If (_OSI" or "If ((_OSI" to quickly locate the blocks that have a system check WIN7 is a constant that cans also be searched ACOS & ACSE variables seem to matter, they have to also be modified OSYS is the variable that gets checked the most in the OS installed locks Vista is named with the WLG constant There's a DRS3 variable but only set for Windows 10 RS3 & later I made a patched version of your DSDT that makes Windows 2006 & 2009 (Vista & 7) behave as if it was Windows 8.1 (2013). It also returns Windows 8.1's OSYS value for Vista & 7 which will be able to unlock more ACPI objects. https://www.udrop.com/Kn0y/dsdt-patched.zip (md5: 4d22eb9bedc63efb618aaeef84ffb9db) Try using the normal version and if any problem then the 'no-optimization' one. I also compiled GeorgeK1ng's version of NTOSKRNL_Emu incase you need to mod the Intel HID driver. https://www.udrop.com/Kn0H/NTOSKRNL_Emu-GeorgeK1ng-version.zip (md5: a054a8ba9d05e587f3ac0f409d9e25e5) dsdt-patched.zip NTOSKRNL_Emu-GeorgeK1ng-version.zip1 point

No, it is very stable in single-process mode. In multiprocess mode, it has become more stable than before. Here is my last post about the most recent version Mypal 68.13.2b:1 point

Did you also try Mypal 68? It is Quantum based and on a JavaScript engine level of 78.1 point

Running the most recent, corrected version of Serpent 55 (2023-07-14) (rev 80e0e6c0d), basilisk.exe is starting and running fine again as it should. No further crashes observed. Big thanks to @roytam1 for the quick fix! Cheers, AstroSkipper1 point

But running the most recent version of Serpent 55 (2023-07-14) from today, basilisk.exe is crashing in the module mozjs.dll at startup such as @DanR20 already reported. Here is a screenshot: Cheers, AstroSkipper1 point

Thanks for warning! Mind if I ask, then why there's so much noise around them? I took a big break from this website, I really thought they finally surpassed Chrome 86 (360) after all these years.1 point

This oddity I had already observed in old Firefox versions. Sometimes, extensions, which had been placed in the browser's folder in browser\extensions subfolder, weren't recognized when starting the browser. Maybe, this issue hasn't been really fixed and is thus still present in all forks. Just an assumption! In my case, I therefore don't place extensions there anymore.1 point

Present the point and let the reader decide. No "post scriptum" explanation required. Nobody wins if everybody strives to get the "last word". Just rambling... Carry on...1 point

The goal of this thread is to build a complete archive for the official updates, hotfixes and utilities of Windows 9x and NT 4 in all languages. I started to collect them in 2010 but unfortunately due to the sickness of laziness and the busy life of being a student, work was stopped after the English updates and the updates in other languages are not available anymore when the work resume in early 2017. Have tried to salvage them via hotfix request service before they shut it down but sadly only a few of them can be saved, most the updates from 2003 to 2006 were exclusive to the Windows Update site of 98, 98 SE and ME and only stored on the servers for v3 and v4 Update site, although some of them are probably still online right now, you can't grab them unless you know the exact hash value of them, and you can no longer access the Update Catalog from the update site as both of them have been decommissioned since mid-2011. Also for NT 4, the updates are available for download from the Download Center but most of the files and pages have been taken offline in 2015. Link to the my collection archive: https://mega.nz/folder/PGxXyQDR#4_BX8FWdQkMlY53DkGbAQQ There are two root folders, important and optional, the important folder contains the critical updates which were offered by the Windows Update v3 and v4 sites back when they online, meanwhile the optional folder consists of updates, utilities and hotfix that were available from the product homepages from the Wayback Machine as well as other updates which were not classified as critical. Due to the amount of NT 4 updates, a dedicated folder has been created for English updates. The English updates of 98, 98 SE and ME from the Windows Update Catalog are also included within the Important\WU\v4 directory. All the files are taken from MS or the Wayback Machine. Here is the speadsheet that listed the updates included in the archive: https://drive.google.com/file/d/16Uai21TIyIsnSrMU5jC7zlQ_JPd98Ugd/view?usp=sharing When the character 'd' is marked with the updates, it's done and included. For any contribution, it's marked with 'c'. If you have or you know someone have any remaining bits of them which are missing form the archive, please kindly share them or try to ask them to share, I will create an index below for any contribution. In addition, I have recorded some short videos when browsing the v3 and v4 update site back in 2010, if you are interested please head to this playlist https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLFqzRmfBPvV-nTjtsGn6USNqAUA8-Nvxk. Any comments and suggestions are welcome. Thank you!1 point
