  1. I'm not the one installing phpBB on my Web server - you are! So I'd say it's up to you to tell phpBB off! Tell them "the latest version of phpBB breaks compatibility with Chrome 78 (or whatever browser), but doesn't offer an improved user experience; why did you do that?" (And if phpBB claims that forcing users to update is for their own good, because of "security," feel free to reply that no one made phpBB your users' parents.) If they get enough complaints, they may back off the "Googleisms for Google's sake" a bit. Come on, let's have a little rage against the machine here!

  2. No need to be sorry, you're not alone trust me. It is sad and VERY VERY hard to fight depression in an unstable world. Things are not good now, lets be honest. We have to pull into our little bubble and surround ourselves with things that bring us joy (even small things count) We have to not let it (the evil) poison our own soul. It can poison if you let it and we become dark and sickness from mental illness manifest into physical symptoms and we become sour and empty and full of bitterness and hate. We have to catch it. Me ... I struggle very hard with (both) physical and mental illness and some days seem hopeless. I had to do anything and everything to pull myself out. There was a time when my ONLY coping mechanisms were drugs and alcohol and it took 3 times in rehab and I finally decided it was enough and I have to face this world sober. I'm NOW 100% sober other than the medications I take. Again, you don't have to be sorry, I can see you are kind and passionate. Be kind and never give up and they can't win and can't get you. http://anxietyforum.net/forum/member.php?164925-salvator-here

  3. Ok., sorry for my rant, but I am really saddened, depressed to see the state of the world we are forced to live in... Allow me to quote some fair words about depression caused by the situation of the world where we live, written in the year 2016: "Topic: Is depression a natural reaction to an insane world?" "31 March 2016 This is a thought I have been pondering for a while. The default to view depression as "something wrong", or a "brain chemical imbalance" or as "a disease" or something that "needs to be fixed" or requires "medication" or "therapy" appears to be the most common response of practically everyone. From doctors, to psychiatrists, to therapists, to the general population, to the depressed individuals themselves... the universal belief appears to be that "the person needs to get help". But what if... the living in depressed state is correct? What if it isn't an "imbalance" or isn't something "wrong"? What if being depressed is the only natural state to be in for an intelligent, empathetic, compassionate, informed, thinking individual to exist in the current state of our world? What if to NOT be depressed about is the true indication of mental sickness? I'm not saying that being depressed is fun in any way... most people on this forum would be well aware that it sucks. But that is not what I'm saying. What I mean is... could existing in a state of depression be completely natural for someone living in a place where so many things are obviously terrible... both on a personal level and in the world as a whole? My reasons for this perspective are numerous. Far too many to write in only 2500 words. But basically... The real world is an extremely depressing place for any person that cares at all about anything outside of themselves. Eg. If you care about animals... the reality is many beautiful species are already lost forever, many others are so close to the verge of extinction that even if everyone worldwide decided to do everything they could to save them... they would still be lost. At home there are people that still buy people animals as christmas gifts, refuse to desex their pets, the massive amount of pets put down in pounds annually. There is backyard animal cruelty, the dog racing industry using live bait, shooting race horses with legs, women's hormonal treatments for menapause, the meat industry, birds choking on our plastic half a world away, overfishing. The list goes on and on. It is reality and it is depressing. Care about animals and feeling "depressed" about it IS correct. And that is one tiny subject in a plethora of subjects. 3 billion people in starving poverty, the water wars, religious fanatics, corrupt governments, womens rights violations, slavery, wars, child rape, etc etc It's the people that are not depressed that worry me." 4. One of the most problematic pieces of tech advice, which is given in knee-jerk fashion by nearly all technology columnists, is to "update your software." However, hackers are constantly innovating faster than tech companies can create solutions to stop them, including this month's Log4j flaw. In addition, software updates have been fingered as the culprit in a number of hacks including the famous Solar Winds attack that hit more than 100 supposedly sophisticated business and tech companies Software updates also often create new compatibility issues such as this Windows 10 update that created printing errors that Microsoft took weeks to fix. I've finally ditched all of that madness and disabled all updates as well as Windows defender, not only to avoid the problems I've mentioned but also to lessen telemetry and the data traffic MS wants to extract from my PC. Now I simply make backups of my clean, working OS, and put those backups on my NAS and in the cloud. That way if I'm hacked I can restore a working operating system, and wait until updates have been fully tested and vetted by MS users and then download those directly from MS's servers. It's not an ideal solution but I just have had it with software vendors having remote access to modify my PC. Just my two cents.

  5. Deep down within our soul (consciousness / awareness) there is hope if we look deep within ourselves beyond the shell/body; the spirit. No politician has ever done anything to help me. Praying to God puts our concentrated energy to seek strength. The darkens is very powerful and BEAUTIFUL. YES ... illusive and louring. Remember, according to the bible ... the devil was the most beautiful angel. People think the devil is scary; wrong. Its the jealous thoughts, the envy, pride, VANITY. People have it wrong, very wrong. I (personally) believe the devil is anything that keeps you away from the light - only in the light is there hope. Find the light and wrap yourself around it spread and pass it on. What a beautiful world it would be if people were (truly) kind and compassionate. Only love in your heart. No hate. That being said: I'm starting to wonder if the world is too far gone to the point of no return. Everything NOW is political. I don't support extremism on either side but that is where we are; so sad to say

  7. True. But the whole "faceless" persona caused more harm than good! We had (still have!) very polarizing "discussions" because people "hide behind their keyboards". Extreme devastation for millions of teenagers, especially girls. I have daughters! I have neices! The world went to H#LL when "parents" started giving TWELVE YEAR OLDS a phone and did so in the guise of "security".

  8. Hi Dave, I have followed many tutorials and hints about porting drivers into XP. I created some of them according my XP2ESD project. Few days back I added ability to integrate them using nLite. Here is whole ported drivers collection for 32bit and 64bit XP or 2003. 32bit AMD_SATA_1.2.001.0337 AMD_SATA_1.2.001.0402 Generic_AHCI_6.2.9200.16384 Generic_MSAHCI_6.1.7601.23403 Generic_NVMe_6.1.7601.23403 Generic_UASP_6.1.7600.4002 Generic_USB3x_6.2.9200.21180 IRST_16.8.3.1003 IRST_18.36.3.1019 RSTe_4.7.0.1119 Samsung_NVMe_3.3.0.2003 64bit AMD_SATA_1.2.001.0337 AMD_SATA_1.2.001.0402 Generic_AHCI_6.2.9200.16384 Generic_MSAHCI_6.1.7601.23403 Generic_NVMe_6.1.7601.23403 Generic_UASP_6.1.7600.4002 Generic_USB3x_6.2.9200.21180 IRST_16.8.2.1002 RSTe_4.7.0.1119 Samsung_NVMe_3.3.0.2003 https://www.mediafire.com/file/1rkvwx5gv37l3xc/PortedDrivers-WindowsXP+Windows2003_x86+x64_v9.7z/file

  9. I live in a small midwest town so nowhere near "represented" in the media that all originate from gigantic metropolitan sky-rise-building cities with more people living in one sky rise then living in my entire town. I also live in a "swing state". We vote "red" and "blue" almost equally. There was a common joke around year or so when stores and restaurants were opening up and there were no more "restrictions" on store occupancy. We went through a phase where security was placed at store doors, nobody allowed in until somebody already inside exited the building. This didn't last long, but really showed how DIVIDED our nation is! And how POLITICAL this "pandemic" is! As a way to cease-and-decist with all of the DIVISIVE POLITICS, our town put a stop to the "restrictions" long before cities "represented" by national/international media put a stop to theirs (most still ongoing to this day!). But this "swing state" has several retailers that are "owned and operated" by a "blue" state to our north. So the JOKE that was prominant about a year ago was this - those "blue-owned" companies would have to follow the letter of the law for their "blue" state even though the store is in a "red/swing" state. So while 80% of retailers no longer mandated masks be worn, these "blue-owned" retailers still mandated masks. So the JOKE was this - "Oh, your company's president voted for Biden so your company is toeing the Biden Line". We could tell which companies were "locally owned" and which were owned by the larger state to our north ALL ON ACCOUNT OF which retailers were forcing masks in their stores when the rest of the town no longer does. NONE of them force masks anymore! And I sure as "F" hope those d@mn mandates are gone FOREVER!

  10. I've considered myself fortunate in regards to the whole "to vax or not to vax" drama. I worked for a Fortune 500 company with right around 380 employees when covid first broke out. There were several of us that got it BEFORE the international medical community even knew what it was! MILD cases! All of us in our mid-20's to early 50's. What p!sses me off about the "media" is that they want everybody to think that "everybody" that catches it will be "hospitalized" or "near death". THAT'S JUST MEDIA STUPIDITY! SOME of the media isn't as bad now, TWO YEARS LATER, but you can still see the "near death" undertones or the "you are killing your grandmother if you don't get vaccinated" B#LLSH!T in the "media". Those of us at the Fortune 500 company that had a MILD case, had a couple of documented sick days, and provided HR with documented proof of medical care - we have been exempted from the vaccine "mandate" on grounds of "natural immunity". But vaxxed or not, this company still mandates ALL employees wear a mask all day - ONE mask handed to us by security when we clock in. Don't get me started on ONE mask being worn 8hrs+ per day. Don't get me started that ONE hour into our day, everybody's mask is worn and fuzzy and dirty because everybody "picks at it" with dirty fingers that have touched everything in sight! It's become nothing but a laughing-stock, nobody wearing their mask above their nose, "supervisors" not doing their REAL job but think they've earned a salary by telling everybody to "pull their mask up". Despite they themselves dangling their mask from one ear, exposing mouth and nose, when they sit at their desk - THREE FEET away from somebody else with a dangling mask.

  12. did that ever leak capacitors? I had dell optiplex 260 from same era and it had bulged and leaky caps since capacitor plague. Some of early 2000 dells had capacitor issues that gave them nickname Hell Capacitor plague did not affect later dell units. I have had GX620 and 755 and those are still kicking with bulging or bad caps

  13. I don't know the horsepower maybe ? Jokes aside it depends from usage. 1 liter N/A engine is just fine for normal highway usage, but when you got tons of passengers and other load on car extra horsepower comes in handy. Also during winter on hilly area any power engine can produce helps since if you stall on hill you will roll down and break your car. Which reminds me from fun story about V6 turbocharged Mercedes with launch assistant, automatic transmission, AWD and all other fancy stuff that got stuck in snowy hill multiple times while my friend 1.8l N/A FWD Nissan Almera without anything else than traction control was able pass it just fine. Mercedes was way too heavy I guess and needed to be towed up the hill

  15. KernelEX24 (Kexbasen/Kexbases): I haven't noticed any problems in this regard, but I have certainly not tried all of the modes. I am sure that default, Base and Basesn modes are OK. As we said, the problem apparently starts with Kexbases25.

  16. Guess it depends on how your biology takes it. At least with the current situation, depending on the circumstances, you could die from either. The whole thing put a lot of pressure on hospital workers. I haven't checked the stats recently, but some time ago, our country was the top in death rate per certain amount of population due to virus. Feels surreal, why us in particular? Over a month ago, a young 20-year-old woman died due to Janssen vaccine, which they've stopped using since. She merely wanted peace due to pressure of requiring RVT condition everywhere and constant testing gets tiring. Statistical anomaly perhaps, but it doesn't do you any good if you end up being the one and you don't exactly have a death wish. They don't have anything in place to verify it'll work on you as intended. Ever wonder how things would look like without computers?
