  1. I have already tested it on Windows XP x64, however I received the following error: I then tried copying dwmapi.dll from Vista to XP, but then received this error: It seems Ripcord heavily relies on APIs and DLLs only available in Windows Vista+. I'm just thankful that Vista works with it, albeit excluding the x86 version like @VistaLover pointed out. Since Vista is so similar to Windows 7 API wise, it doesn't surprise me that QT 5.9 (and newer) applications can work on it. As long as the applications don't call for Windows 7+ functions, they will work in Vista just fine it seems.

  2. In this topic I'll post my modified drivers for Windows 2000 with SP4 (no Updates Rollup or Extended Kernel needed). For testing purposes only, so beware. If considered stable, will be promoted to Final. - Intel Matrix Storage 7.6.9.1002 (AHCI/RAID) Driver only: Win2000_7.6.9.1002_DriverOnly.7z Complete package: Win2000_7.6.9.1002_Complete.7z This one is slightly newer than BWC's 7.6.0.1011, with a few fixes. - AMD(Hudson?) / Intel / VIA XHCI USB3.1 driver 1.1.0.0276 Driver only: 276BETA_W2K.7z Has the same issues with PAE as XP. Don't know if Windows 2000 is also affected by qword ACPI issue (the XHCI controller won't initialize and reports Error code 10). In this case, please try it in MPS Uniprocessor/Multiprocessor mode.

  3. Hi loblo. Don't want to stray, just a quick note. Custom command.bat files can be placed in Bash's /bin/ directory then DOS commands can be used by Bash. For example, create cls.bat containing: @echo off cls Now the cls.bat command is available. Of course this creates a custom environment and these commands won't work if script sharing. Curious if Mintty works in vanilla Windows 98, will check it out, thanks.

  4. Okay, I have managed to install the NVIDIA drivers now. It was a silly mistake, I did not change "MPS and ACPI MADT ordering" value from "MODERN" to "LEGACY" in BIOS. As you may already know, the former is for XP+ which I am also running and having it set incorrectly will cause (random) issues. How did the new USB drivers go you ask? Well, they just work, its amazing! No frame drops, nothing. Mass storage still works as well. So huge thank you @MrMateczko for your help with this issue and @PROBLEMCHYLD for the actual drivers! Cheers!

  5. I remember spybot search and destroy as I have been using it many years ago. Anyway it's a good thing to know that definitions are still kept updated. By the way, just like the other topic, I think this should be merged with

  6. Sure. But they ask you to solve an old-style text captcha once, instead of those infuriating pic-based re-captchas multiple times. Vive la différence!

  7. Annoying big-tech webmasters everywhere... that 1 percent of the 1 precent still using a Basilisk/PaleMoon/Firefox fork on Windows XP called: "Ludditious" This is tongue-in-cheek, folks... Ludditious is delicious... and it's good for you too!

  8. That apple software update thingy always nagged on my mother's computer. With XP and now 8.1... But yeah, that would go well with this Christmas installation over here: I have no idea why they picked those two letters. And for more evidence that Windows XP dominated Christmas 2019: https://www.neowin.net/news/the-new-windows-ugly-sweater-has-a-windows-xp-theme

  9. Twitter works for me with this user agent string (an old Microsoft developmental build). This also works with Vintom.com (but not with msfn.org, strangely). (User Agent Switcher is your friend :) ) Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 9.0; WOW64; Trident/7.0; rv:11.0) like Gecko

  10. As I've posted in a previous thread, it is possible to get Ryzen working on Vista, but drivers are kind of a pain to get working. Windows 7 USB3 drivers do work on Vista, but don't try and slipstream them, because they're not signed for NT 6.0. I would recommend first installing using a PS/2 keyboard and a DVD, if possible.
