The end of official support doesn’t render the operating system unusable. As long as you’re connected to the Internet behind a router with a firewall, and browsing the internet responsibly on an updated browser, there is no reason why you can’t continue using XP without an issue. I have no intention of giving it up any time soon.
Since it seems it's a HNY thread today... I wish you all Happy New Year from Poland, it's already 90 minutes past midnight here and I hope all XP fans on MSFN and us last 5 Vista users on this planet will still happily coexist (somehow).
We are living on borrowed time and steady we go towards our beloved OS death. It's been a great journey and it's close to the end, but my fellow XP users, don't be sad for what is not going to be, be happy for what it's been. :')
Honestly, I don't know why it doesn't work on your system
It's because...
Same here on my AMD Athlon XP 3200+ (no SSE2).
Btw, as a word of advice, don't use the VERY outdated FFmpeg library Audacity works with! Instead pipe Audacity's output to an up-to-date FFmpeg executable.
Don't use slang here in community else I will call our guardian angel @dencorso
Newmoon build by Roytam1 is better than mypal.
He also make Basilisk and KMGoanna browser
v191 has several security updates -> see https://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/8u191-relnotes-5032181.html
v192 has a extra new feature -> see https://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/8u192-relnotes-4479409.html
With v191 you are as safe as possible, v192 is not needed.
In the past there where alsways two versions, one with security updates ans one with new features.
Recommended was always the lower v number to avoid problems with the new features. Only if you need the new feature go to the higher v number.
Happy New Year Everyone (from Southern Ontario in Canada). What is Eastern Standard Time? GMT+5 maybe?
@roytam1, I'm no longer a consumer of you modded browsers (though I install New Moon on my parents' computer), I commend you on all of your hard work.
