  1. Past hour
  2. Chromium 123 working with sandbox and all codecs on 8.1. OFC still little bit modded.
  3. Again, you are being biased. The original was not changed by the developer. "Real" Chrome/Chromium uses PURE WHITE for the active tab, as does Supermium's active tab. I meant to grab a screencap of v122 and not v125 but both use PURE WHITE for the active tab. Win10 "app light mode" is where this PURE WHITE comes from. Perhaps the underlying issue here is only for those using "dark mode"? But the github report is showing tab colors for "app light mode" as that report is "complaining" about a PURE WHITE active tab. And both Supermium and "real" Chrome/Chrome BOTH have this PURE WHITE active tab.
  4. Activating a new mobile service like Xfinitymobile.com/activate can be an exciting venture, but navigating the activation process may seem daunting initially. In this comprehensive guide, we'll walk you through each step of activating Xfinity Mobile, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience. Understanding Xfinity Mobile: Xfinity Mobile, Comcast's mobile service, is exclusively available to Comcast Xfinity Internet Subscribers. As an MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator), Xfinity Mobile leases network capacity from larger carriers, such as Verizon's 4G LTE and 5G network. Activation Process: Activating Xfinity Mobile is straightforward and typically takes around 10-15 minutes to complete. Should you encounter any difficulties, customer support is available to assist you. Step-by-Step Activation Guide: Gather Required Information: Retrieve your account PIN from your previous carrier. If unavailable, contact your carrier for assistance. Install NanoSIM (For iPhone 12 or Earlier): If your device is an iPhone 12 or earlier model, install the provided nanoSIM card. Skip this step for Android devices or iPhone 13 and later models. Unbox Your New Device: If you received a new phone from Xfinity Mobile, unbox it and ensure it remains powered off throughout the activation process. For BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) users, open the package containing your Xfinity Mobile nanoSIM card. Visit xfinitymobile.com/activate: Access the activation portal, log in or create an account, and select the phone you wish to activate. Choose Activation Options: Decide whether to retain your existing phone number or obtain a new one. Initiate Activation: Click on the activation button to begin the process. Your phone should be ready within approximately ten minutes. Enter Device Details: Provide relevant device information, including the IMEI number, when prompted. Input Previous Carrier Information: Enter your previous carrier's account number and PIN as requested. Await Confirmation: Keep an eye out for a confirmation email containing your new number, if applicable. Finalize Activation: Insert the xfinitymobile.com activate nanoSIM card if required, or activate the line with your eSIM. Conclusion: Once you've completed the Xfinity Mobile activation process, your device will be ready for use, enabling you to access the internet, make calls, and send messages seamlessly. For further assistance or clarification on any steps, refer to the additional mini-guides provided below.
  5. Today
  6. Hm, this might not be an actual valid option, seems you just omit/comment out the line with --enable-jemalloc in .mozconfig to achieve the effect. So far, I got a crash on one website when using an inspector, I think it was actually https://pixai.art/. It appears it's not an OS specific issue.
  7. I know about that workaround, but it shouldn't be required. I can also confirm @NotHereToPlayGames's observation that it tends to occur with sites specifying font sizes in em rather than px. I noticed discussion a while back on GitHub about potential GDI issues, but I don't know if they got anywhere. Also, version 122.0.6261.168, after testing on different computers, I've came to the conclusion that both SSE2 and SSE3 versions actually crash everywhere for me on Google Drive, Win10, Win11, Win XP, doesn't matter, on multiple different computers. Tested with clean profile, no settings were changed, no extensions installed, just opened the browser and went straight to Google Drive. Hey, my motherboard's from 2008. I do wonder if updating XP x64 beyond the year 2012 would help with anything. Though that would take more effort than I'm willing to invest at this point since my XP refuses to update by usual means after installing Legacy Update. Even tried with an old backup of XP installation from few years back. Who knows what's wrong with it, 'been pretty careful with it as I am with other OS installations. The only other idea I have, I used to turn off advanced text services back in the day, this turns off ctfmon.exe. Seems like a long shot, but since both Thorium and Supermium mess with USB despite their actual USB functions being completely non-functional on XP...
  8. You don't have to agree or disagree with the facts. You don't take part in the development. but many thanks from all of us for the measurements! What I really wonder is why the default Chromium values, the right ones, where changed by the developer?
  9. Yeah, for those with a dead CCFL bulbs monitor. For me, Supermium lights up the whole room, I don't need to turn on the lights anymore, so yeah, again, a feature. Mind you, it's with the dark theme! So it's not XP claissic theme bug only, I'm on Vista.
  10. For me, using --no-sandbox helps to solve it, but I don't want to run without sandbox. So using these browsers is currently on hold. Also, due to the brightness issue.
  11. I too have this issue related to USB in both. Any simple USB stick is not detected when one of either browsers is opened. 2009 motherboard. USB 2.0.
  12. I'd like to report some problems I am having using Serpent 52 (G4.8 win32) if I may. 1) Starting with build basilisk52-g4.8.win32-git-20240518-3219d2d-uxp-e76fa74573-xpmod, some of my tabs get a blank title. Thus far, I have only experienced it with local image files; I expect to see their file name instead. The file names and their paths don't contain any special characters that aren't present in image files showing in tabs where the title does appear, so I don't know what could be causing this. Clicking such tab makes the file name appear briefly, but then it turns blank again. This problem is still there in build 20240525. Reverting to build 20240511 fixes the problem. 2) For a couple of months now, I have experienced issues related to session management. I have lost tabs that were opened up to 3-4 hours prior to a forced restart following unresponsiveness due to 100% CPU and memory usage, including tabs that were opened while the browser was still fully responsive. This happened twice so far. Also, if the browser is starting to become slow and I restart it (via File>Restart provided by Classic Theme Restorer), I am sometimes met with an error message from Session Manager saying "The session/window data is corrupted". Clearing the closed windows/tabs list using Session Manager prior to restarting can increase the chances of this happening. Similarly, if the browser is getting slow or nearly unresponsive and I try to save the session using Session Manager, I will always get an error saying "This operation failed due to a file access error". I can only save a session shortly after opening the browser. I don't know if it's related, but I used to experience freezes after leaving the browser idle; the duration of these freezes would last anywhere from a few seconds to around 5 minutes, depending on how many windows/tabs were left open and for how long. The freezes still happen, but they don't seem to last 5 minutes anymore. Could it be that a time limit was implemented a few months ago which somehow corrupts the session management? I could revert to an older build from late 2023, but then some websites (such as WIX sites) won't load properly. 3) I have found that some forum-based websites using a specific software don't load properly. I get a basic version with disabled scrollbar. Example: https://winraid.level1techs.com/t/modded-intel-ahci-and-raid-drivers-digitally-signed/19691 I think it's Discourse. 4) Any way to fix the "new" Hotmail website? MS abandoned the old Hotmail site in favor of a Microsoft Exchange layout, but I'm getting the dumbed down version even when "Use the light version" is unchecked. I don't really mind the smaller font, but the From and the Subject fields are truncated after just a few words even though there's ample space in the column to show a lot more (up to three times and four times respectively).
  13. Besides, "it's not a bug, it's a feature."
  14. I must admit, this one has me baffled. If I go to about:profiles and click "Restart with Add-Ons Disabled," the Windows Update Catalog loads fine. But if I disable every add-on manually and restart, the site still hangs at the "loading" state. I even tried switching back to the default theme, on the off-chance that it was causing the issue, but it didn't help either. Clearly, "Restart with Add-Ons Disabled" is doing more than disabling all add-ons and custom themes, but it's not at all clear to me what to try next.
  15. I attach an image with the specs. The Thorium version is Thorium SSE2 122.0.6261.168. I don't know what the API Adapter is but I can tell you that it's the default with that version because obviously I haven't touched anything.
  16. One question, Should the taskbar activate button in SAB be on or off when installing the supplemental? Or is this a plugin to SAB? Never mind, I figured out, it's a full version of SAB.
  17. StartAllBack is a wonderful program, worth paying for on every PC I've put it on. There's one other feature I'd love to see - the ability to reorder/unstick icons of the same program on the taskbar. Here's what I mean: I often like to setup my programs on the taskbar in a specific order such as: Outlook --- Chrome --- Pycharm (repo 1) --- Chrome --- PuTTY (server 1) --- Pycharm (repo 2) --- Chrome --- Putty (server 2) In Windows 11, however, programs of the same kind must be grouped together Outlook --- Pycharm (repo 1) --- Pycharm (repo 2) --- PuTTY (server 1) --- Putty (server 2) --- Chrome --- Chrome --- Chrome Grabbing (for example) one of the Chrome taskbar icons to reorder it will automatically grab ALL Chrome icons, which are glued together. Even worse, it's not possible to reorder the icons within a group. If I accidentally opened github repo 2 in PyCharm before I opened repo 1, I cannot reorder the two PyCharm taskbar icons. They are stuck together in the order they were opened. There were tools back in the Windows 10 days (e.g. 7 Taskbar Tweaker) that could unstick icons so they could be reordered individually. Could StartAllBack do that as well? Thank you!
  18. Hi James, I made no further attempts on the Gigabyte boards; XP 32-bit runs really well on them, so that's where those have long stood. Likewise, I moved my MSI Z97 PC Mate on to other things way back. The driver I used was BWC’s 8.9d AHCI; I don't think driver version 11.2.0.1006 will work on W2K Pro, although it works fine with XP on my Gigabyte boards. I don't know why it does not work on your Gigabyte board. The trick with W2K Pro and AHCI is using an installation disc that has BWC's Extended Kernel integrated, thus the HFSLIP package tomasz86 made. Though layering BWC's kernel versions is not ideal, after installation you can update to a newer Extended Kernel version. The latest chipset I tried with Windows 2K Pro is the ASRock X99, where all is well. I have a couple of huge Lian Li PC-V1000L cases moving lots of air with different operating systems on individual NVMe and SSD drives. If I want to change operating systems I just power up, stop at the BIOS and make my selection. If I try the Z97 again it will probably be on a ASRock Z97 Anniversary board that is currently running XP Pro 64-bit. I very much like that platform and miss not having a Windows 2000 Professional operating system there. I would also like to attempt post-facto switch over from IDE to AHCI to avoid running one extended kernel version atop another.
  19. When I started my test phase with the Thorium browser, the browser start was slow and the page loading behaviour was beyond good and evil. But for some time now, it has been running better and better on my old computer and one of the main reasons was the permanent improvement of the Chrome XP API Adapter. And on the other hand, all the time-consuming configuration work I did, of course. I think this is necessary on old, weak computers under Windows XP.
  20. Yesterday
  21. I'm using version 1.2.0.5035 on Thorium and Supermium. I will try updating it.
  22. It's not just about looks, it is about stability and performance
  23. I am still on 7 myself, although if I could I would main 2000
  24. No problems here in Thorium. I have just logged into my Google account and Google Drive opens fine here. No crashes to observe. All seems to be normal. And it runs surprisingly quite fast on my old machine.
  25. I guess technically I've never used either of them for more then four minutes at a time, lol. I do know that Thorium can last for four minutes. And Supermium only takes forty seconds or so to totally CRASH my single-core XP to the point of UNPLUGGING IT (it's an old laptop that doesn't even have a battery anymore). I've not seen any font issues in those four minutes, but that window wouldn't exactly be a good test case.
  26. What are you hardware specs? And which version of Thorium and the Chrome XP API Adapter do you use?
  27. Which version of the Chrome XP API Adapter do you use for Thorium? The most recent one is 1.2.0.5057.
