windows 7 on a i5-12500H and RTX 3050 laptop help
Dixel replied to alexthetechie1's topic in Windows 7
Some reported success with RTX3080, so if you still can return that notebook and replace it, perhaps worth a try, but then again, no 100% guarantees. -

No drivers for Windows 7/8/8_and_a_half exist. -
It's a new feature to reduce fingerprinting by the means of serial ports.

ProxHTTPSProxy and HTTPSProxy in Windows XP for future use
AstroSkipper replied to AstroSkipper's topic in Windows XP
Which developer do you mean? Please, be a bit more precise! If you mean the extension developer, I assume he warns the user not to misconfigure the Proxy Switcher extension and not to use unsecure web proxies. Which proxy do you mean? If you mean ProxHTTPSProxy, this local proxy is as secure as Windows XP and direct connection is.- 847 replies

ProxHTTPSProxy and HTTPSProxy in Windows XP for future use
Anbima replied to AstroSkipper's topic in Windows XP
You can shorten it a little: if (shExpMatch(host, "*.example.com")|shExpMatch(host, "*.google.*")|shExpMatch(host, "*.wetter.com")) { But it is very confusing. However, I have noticed that it sometimes causes problems if the website integrates external content that does not have SSL. In this case, the external website must also be recorded. I'm thinking about running all pages via the proxy after all :-) However, the following sentence from the developer unsettles me: Be aware and careful! Use a direct connection when you don't want any mistakes made. Is the proxy not secure, or what does this mean?- 847 replies

64-bit version of PuTTY 0.81 needs hex editing to get running on XP x64 as minimum OS version specified in the PE header is 6.0 (Vista) instead of 5.2 (XP x64 / Server 2003).

I had to create for each domain a separate, new IF query otherwise it wouldn't have worked in my installation.- 847 replies

About the Microsoft Copilot Notebook feature
Sampei.Nihira replied to Edmond Emmerich's topic in Windows 11
https://www.ghacks.net/2024/05/21/microsoft-announces-copilot-pcs-and-ai-powered-recall-feature/ If this is to be the future, I prefer to take refuge in Linux. I have used Linux in the past but it bored me. My daughter in middle school (2005) had a Linux PC prepared by me I don't remember the distro but it was almost certainly Ubuntu. She had many compatibility problems compared to other students. So this experiment was short-lived,if I remember correctly about 2 years. I have also used other distros, and now I really have no idea which one is best suited for my PC. Which could be upgraded to Windows 11.....but I still haven't decided whether to do this upgrade. -

Yes, that is the problem. With "*." all third-level domains are recorded. Can several different domains be entered in the IF query, or do I have to make a separate query for each domain?- 847 replies

@Anbima didn't say anything about that. If one doesn't make clear announcements, one can't expect to get exactly the information one needs. We are not clairvoyants. If the PAC script contains a different URL than the one you want to call up, you don't have to be surprised that it doesn't work.- 847 replies

Hi, I want to purchase two licenses, one for my personal desktop and one for a work laptop. However it appears that the minimum business purchase is for ten licenses. As I only require one this model is not appropriate to me. Please advise.

On the insider's 26212 everything is fine too, including the classic taskbar.

I actually think what he's trying to do is for one.example.com two.example.com three.example.com www.example.com and what you are proposing will only work for example.com- 847 replies

ProxHTTPSProxy and HTTPSProxy in Windows XP for future use
AstroSkipper replied to AstroSkipper's topic in Windows XP
For me. it works as it should. No. No green. Just insert the PAC script code! You won't get any confirmation messages. I really don't know what you are doing. All a bit strange. "example.com" is completely sufficient and exactly corresponds to the URL which you wanted to load.- 847 replies

It doesn't work for me. I have entered the PAC script. Should the tick be green? I can't confirm anything. What am I doing wrong? ... For me it must be "*.example.com". Then it works.- 847 replies

ProxHTTPSProxy and HTTPSProxy in Windows XP for future use
VistaLover replied to AstroSkipper's topic in Windows XP
... I guess "we"'re moving in circles here, aren't "we"? If you don't want to employ a local PAC script after all and you want to use ProxyMII in 360EE by selectively (manually) enabling it on the (now two) problem sites, no extension is required; the options have been already presented to you by both Astroskipper and me: 1. Configure IE8 to use ProxyMII (its FrontServer) just for secure connections - then, manually enable this configuration in 360EE by setting "Proxy -> Use IE proxy" for the two "problem" sites, or 2. Configure 360EE to use ProxyMII (its FrontServer) directly (i.e. leaving IE8 out of this) and then manually enable this configuration, just for your two "problem" sites, by selecting "Proxy -> localhost:8079" (see image attachments in my previous reply just above) when visiting the affected sites ...- 847 replies

Already answered by me: And since you made such a fuss about PAC here, the extension Proxy Switcher and Manager 0.5.0 which requires very little memory is the solution without having to switch the proxy manually when using a PAC script inside this extension.- 847 replies
