Programs that don't need to be installed

@Prathapml:

It seems like the "App Paths" method does work, but not from a CMD prompt! Okay it does work for example for the "Run..." screen, but I also want to use it in CMD-files etcetera! Do you know a work-around for this? (I don't prefer the use of the PATH-enviroment variable... this isn't really maintainable).

RRC (Registrar for the Command line)

[information]

[Download]

This is a command-line registry editor (far more features then REG.EXE). For example you can search-and-replace! I use it for replacing all instances of notepad with metapad and I put metapad.exe in system32 so everything is opened with my new text-editor!

Only downside is that it's shareware, because you can only use it for 20 days! However I found out which key helds this information so I use the very same program to delete this key :D and keep my 20-day period!

Foobar2000 like winamps but better ! so clean I am amaze, how could I dont knew that one before. Like other progz this one is not a pure standalone. it come in a setup package, but use .ini for preferences and setting, so just use your standalone folder (like on d: second partition) and it work well. I had tested with reinstalling windows and it work perfect.

McAfee AVERT Stinger

Stinger is a stand-alone utility used to detect and remove specific viruses. It is not a substitute for full anti-virus protection, but rather a tool to assist administrators and users when dealing with an infected system. Stinger utilizes next generation scan engine technology, including process scanning, digitally signed DAT files, and scan performance optimizations.

1) I suggest everyones to do some propaganda for stand x site, it will bring the site more standalones applications.

2) Got a suggestion for the stand X site http://www.bintow.com/SAA/. To put icons beside softwares to inform about the following:

a- freeware/shareware

b- pure/unpure standalone (unpure meaning program coming with an install but once installed are standalone.)

c- editor choice award.

I could contribute to class them, And I understand that publishing website take time

so I will be patient.

3) I am so enthusiast that I have a secret plan to get more standalone appz if you guys follow me. :lol: (joking but serious)

* some parts of this post cut out due to being inappropriate. If you have complaints, PM me.
