Github declares it may act on any laws, not only US laws

Sure, and imaginary (made up) laws are also a subset of "any laws," and, thereby, actionable. Some would argue that such a literalist reading is absurd, complaining that a reasonable person reading the TOS of a US company understands that "any laws," in such a context, means US (not Canadian or fictitious) laws. Not i -- just tossing it out there for your consideration.

[GitHub] may allow Russians to steal members' intellectual property

Not without running afoul of US law, no. Though a US company choosing to to comply with US law is, in this case, inconvenient, that's simply how our current reality is structured.

When quote me, please at least quote the main subject in full. I wrote [GitHub] may allow Russians to steal members' intellectual property because Russians have a law allowing their citizens and businesses to do so.

Where does Github write they only act accordingly to the US laws, I just saw "any" laws, it's a bad game of guessing, assuming, etc, It needs to be written in plain text.

The same place bottled water manufacturers write "WARNING: CONTENTS MAY BE WET!" Again,

Et tu, Brute?

This request is not that uncommon here at MSFN - and it grows quite tiresome, to be honest.

It's called MICRO-MANAGING and nobody likes to be micro-managed.

SNIPPETS are just fine.  People following the conversation can follow just fine.

Another way to look at "this" - there are two kinds of people here at MSFN...  1) glass half full...  2) glass half empty...

Running around telling people HOW to "quote" is the "half full" folks thinking ALL of MSFN should be "half full" folks and TELLING THE "HALF EMPTY" HOW TO ACT, HOW TO CONFORM TO THE "HALF FULL" WAY OF LIFE.

Or would it be the "half empty" folks thinking they can covert ALL of the the "half full" folks?

Or something like that...  Akin to an upset wife and the husband telling her HOW to FEEL - "good luck with that", lol.

No. Taking quotes out of context to interpret or emphasise what the quoter wants to have confirmed is a no-go. Think of Pippi Longstocking! :) And Caesar had turned many people against him. :P

That's where you are wrong.  Period.

Not at all. I could even justify it, but it would be totally off-topic and, to be honest, the obvious doesn't really need to be justified. :P

Well if you are talking about Github and the laws. One thing is what they declare and the second thing is the reality and what they really force and remove. I will not post the links as it is not allowed here, but there is multiple software hosted on Github allowing to bypass the protections and the licenses of various commercial software and allowing the people steal it. And it’s there hosted for ages. Like 7 years for example and that was of course before the new Russian law and looks like nobody cares at all. That’s imho little bit strange and I got a feeling from that, they don’t have the same meter for MS and/or other big companies stuff and the rest.

Its a shame, someone goes out of their way to provide an extended kernel for free for people that want to use an older os for whatever reason they have, then someone else says: nope, you won't do that

It hurts even more because thats not just a file that we can find on some obscure corner of the internet again and be happy, thats a maintained project that sadly cannot just stop on one version

Actions like this just discourages people even more, imagine you work on something in your free time and then you have to deal with morons that don't want your project to exist

Does anyone have the last version of NotepadEx from his Github before it got nuked?

I managed to get SnippingToolEx from Wayback Machine.

Something strange is going on...

Yeah, maybe the mods @Tripredacus@Dave-H or others could tell (assuming they are allowed to share this information) if there was some unusual activity on @viixiduu's account (maybe it was hacked and then deleted) or he just removed it.
