@roytam1 - I believe I found another noteworthy bug in MailNews.

I am using the MailNews 52.9.8208a1 (2022-07-01)(32-bit) application on Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 3 and the "Windows Classic style" visual style.
I am using the Gmail email host with IMAP configuration.

The bug report follows:
When opening a Drafts IMAP message (I have not tested POP3) that was created by the Outlook Express 6 application or one attempts to open a normal message that was dragged and dropped into the Drafts folder from another MailNews folder, such as Inbox, a Write window opens that unusually does not include more than one blue-ish horizontal rule in the headings section and their is no contents at all of the message to be edited.  Closing the Write windows results in an additional Error message written to the Error Console.  Throughout this process, the Error Console provides the following errors:

Blanker Compose Window.gif

Preexisting_Drafts_Blank_ERROR_CONSOLE.gif

I'm still on:

Version     52.9.0 (32-bit)
Build ID     20220617032904

and have not updated because been unsure about breakage and this version seems very solid, but after reading here, I'll update Saturday and also hope Serpent 55 will be fixed.

I can confirm that latest NM28 (20220702) has no problems with downloading files anymore! :)

BTW if I want to replace MS OE on Win XP SP3...MailNews is the right option!? I just have to know...have to go forward with our mail accounts...maybe...sometime. ;)

kind regards

Unfortunately, you didn't say which browser caused this message, and the corresponding YouTube link is still missing either, to check it in a simple way (reading from the picture is not as great as just clicking).

Thank you for the newest release, however on XP x86 Serpent 52.9 version 20220625 the "Save As" dialog doesn't work and the latest 20220702, nothing works/doesn't even connect to internet (I'm using DSL).

So I reverted to 20220618, the last one which works properly...

dom.max_script_run_time <-please change to 0

dom.moduleScripts.enabled <-please toggle false to see, this helps me very much.

dom.ipc.processHangMonitor <-please toggle to false.

dom.ipc.reportProcessHangs <-please toggle to false

Keep us posted and good luck :)

Ugh ... I just *threw myself* out of bed hate to admit it (rough nights here) and haven't updated, but I will today but save my version (same one you reverted back to that is VERY solid) and let you know. I'm drinking double tea and the brain fog is still enormous. Sorry guys.

Seems good thus far with the latest St52 and the "save as" also seems to work just fine now @VistaLover as I vague recall you mentioned this, as well. So, I don't know what could be causing your issues @modnar ... perhaps you didn't replace all files or corrupt profile - I know its inconvenient but sometimes need to start fresh everything. Good luck!
