This might help you narrow down what's stalling.Excerpted from my book (note that the step-by-step assumes you have a Start Menu replacement in place):-NoelThere is no such option in 8.1 gpedit--edit--Found the problem, it's skype, if I close it before shutting down everything is normal, ****, skype is bul***** from version 5.0.. Hancoque
Thanks for the update, I am a bit confused by this TextGlowMode (DWORD): HIWORD and LOWORD value though, how do we set that in the registry? If you want a value of 12, set it to 0x000c0003 (the left four numbers are for the size, the right four numbers are for the mode).I noticed that it doesn't work yet with the default theme. It works with the Release Preview theme, but not for ribbon windows. I think that might be due to ribbon windows taking their glow size from a different value in the theme. It would also be useful to be able to overwrite the glow intensity, because decreasing or increasing the size also has an impact on the intensity. Being able to also change the intensity would allow for compensating this. Edited January 2, 2014 by Hancoque
