Fabulous design as usual and loaded fast. Tip to get work. Load your work in a slide-show on a large screen notebook and plant yourself in the lobby of the largest studios during peak traffic periods. Hang a sign around your neck "Will work for Madonna" or something like that. Maybe "Hire me before Bill Gates sees this". Me agrees with Doggie

I need an XP application (perferably endorsed by Microsoft and compatiable with XP) that will allow me to click and select the PC so I can view it on my single monitor. The setup is two PCs sharing one monitor with the use of a switch box. When I want to switch between the PCs I toggle a switch. It would be nice to select the PC using an icon in my task bar. I would appreciate any suggestions. Oh, the PCs are NOT on a lan now, but will be tomorrow I hope. Yea, I am a lazy bastiage

Welcome to MSFN coyn586 SpamPal is reviewed here, MSFN SpamPal Review by AaronXP and is worth a look. I use McAffee Spam Killer on XP and it is decent. All it does is sort the spam into folders so you can view or delete. It works like some others wherein you create filters by domain name and variations of the domain names. The interface is easy to use so I like it.

In the future go to Control Panel, Add-Remove Programs, and uninstall them there. Most programs also have an uninstall option in the Programs Menu. Defragment the hard drive after uninstalling or installing programs and the PC will run faster.

Want to see Halle emerge from the ocean, and with multiple angles? You do? Well here's how. On the second disc go to the "Image Database" section. From here select the "Sets and Locations" and search through the images until you find Halle exit from the sea. using the remote, highlight this image and press "Enter".

for 79.00 EURO. It is a CyberHome CH 402. It plays everything, but is not region free. To make it region free there is a hack that did the trick here, http://www.dvd365.net, and many more.

for 100.00 EURO. It is from a close friend that previously purchased an Aopen and had to return it to the store after because it stopped reading. The store sent it to the manufacturer for repair or replacement. In he mean time he bought the new Sony and is quite happy with it. Here it is four weeks later and he got tired of waiting so he went back to the store and demanded a refund or replacement. They gave him a new TEAC. He sold it to me today. This is a TEAC DV-W50EK, 4X DVD, 2x DVD-RW, 16x CD-R, 8x CD-RW.

Very true Zipp51. Countless PCs with P3 500 + CPUs and WinXP deliver satisfaction to most users. Some of my associates and customers using P3 500 - P3 800 computers wanted faster computers. The ones that come to mind are those that were using Win98SE and recorded CDs as the most intensive operation their computers performed. After letting them use WinXP on my personal PCs with equivalent CPUs they decided to keep their machines and simply upgrade to XP. It was the Operating System that changed their minds. Not the speed of the PC. CDs can only be burned so fast, lol. This is a user group that really only sits down with their PCs a few times a month. Most of the people here are much more hardcore. So ask yourself this guys. If you found yourself in the above situation and were limited to funds ( say $200.00) and owned a P3 500 with Win98SE what would you spend the $200.00 on? 1. Windows XP or 2. A faster CPU

We all know that the speed of any PC is relative to the architecture of the PC as a whole. An Intel CPU with FSB 533, RAM that clocks 533, and an ATA-133 hard drive will outperform an equivalent Intel CPU with FSB 533, RAM that clocks 533, and a ATA-100 hard drive. The difference in these basic specifications is the ATA-133 vs ATA-100 hard drives. The succeeding factor here is the architectural sub-system. The price differences between the Intel and AMD are significant. As ThA_FiLeR points out the price of the AMD will drop in time. Still, price vs performance usually decides which of the two brands will end up in the box. Nothing against AMD as Drew says, but one must compare the AMD, in the above scenerio. I cannot make a valid comparison can I? Is there an AMD CPU capable of 533 FSB or higher to include RAM that clocks at FSB 533? Nice chart Drew

Always perform a clean installation of XP when installing it in a computer as the boot drive. The hardware information to include drivers is recorded in the registry file and referenced when necessary by XP. When boot drives are installed in a different PC with different hardware and drivers XP will sometimes find and update all the new hardware and drivers and might work fine, but your registry will contain multiple entries of this data. That alone will cause the PC to become noticeably slower for obvious reasons. My favorite method is to first format a hard drive with the manufacturers hard drive utility. I like two partitions; one for the OS and the other for all other software. Then if my partioned OS becomes corrupt or infected with something I can alaways format that partition, reinstall my major applications, and be back in business usually in less than two hours.
