1. It was already covered somewhere, but here you go: You need: VIAHyperion4in1 is the root folder inf\winxp --> viamach idewinxp --> viaidexp winxp --> viaagp agp -->VIAGART put these files into one and point nlite on this folder. thats it. Credits go to whoever came up with this first
2. Just tried it on a normal, non-modified XP installation. Still didn't work
3. Maybe this helps: http://www.winway.com/Main3/support/Resume...iptMissing.aspx
4. Okay something weird happened I tried this method, followed all the steps: downloaded the customized mp10setup.exe and added the line to wmp.inf and recabbed it. Put everything in I386 overwriting all existing files. BUT: after the installation of XP, WMP10 wasn't there Only two files and two folders were in Program Files\Windows Media Player.
5. May I ask how exactly you go this? My standard WinXP with SP2 cd with these folders removed is 404MB... It is probably the size for SP1.
6. Do you mean compressed or decompressed? After using your batch on nVidiadrivers, three directories were created: 1. A maindirectory called Display 2. Two subdirectories in Display called nv4_disp and nv4disp2 Which directory do I need for my Unattended Disc? They both have almost the same files but nv4_disp is a little bigger (about 0.02mb). BTW, I have a Geforce4 TI4200 8x AGP EDIT: What is installed by nVidia-installer that isn't installed by windows-setup.inf-method?
7. Try another (older) version of nLite and see if the error occurs again.
8.
Now to work on Windows Player 10...
WMP10 settings are the same as for WMP9.
9. You probably could write a batchfile to install all the hotfixes silently and restart the computer when done. Something like: start /wait hotfix1.exe /switch start /wait hotfix2.exe /switch etc
10. Is there a way to add this to Firefox? I know Spywareblaster can do it for me, but it isn't updated that often.
11. Contact Microsoft, they can help you U...
12. This is what I do: -Install Firefox, extensions and favourite themes. -Configure it the way you want. -Backup following directories: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\ C:\Documents and Settings\"Owner"\Application Data\Mozilla\ Copy these directories to your Unattended CD. Or make a sfx to save space. Hope this helps. B)
13. This method worked great on firefox.exe. But when using it on thunderbird.exe, the exe-icon got removed; thunderbird still worked. The exe-icon became the same as regxpcom.exe and xpicleanup.exe.
14. Use jcarle's compression bin to cab the files: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...&hl=compression Simply drag and drop the files you want to be cabbed on to the compression bin. Actually the file-extension isn't .cab but e.g. .ex_ or .dl_
15. Windows Firewall: Zone Alarm FREE http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/cata...7552?lid=nav_za
16. WMP10 is AFAIK part of XP not of media center. You can install without the media center component.
17. Get Foxit PDF Reader: http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/rd_intro.php It's less than 2mb and much faster than Adobe Reader
18. Couldn't I just make a sfx of the remaining files and install them from main_batch.cmd? P.S. How is the compatibility of this method with nLite and removing WMP9? Can I remove both player and codecs?
19. What exactly do you mean by copy over? To my Unattended CD or to my harddrive?
20. Why is that the easy way? MCE2005 already has SP2 AND WMP10 integrated Off course, using nLite makes it even better
21. What about the 2nd MCE-disc? Doesn't XP ask for this disc; so the installation won't be truly Unattended anymore?
22. Does this really work? What did you do with wmp10.inf? Are the new WMP10 features also installed?
