  1. MSI's website is connect, iaStor is a SATA driver. The "IDE" Mode option you see in the BIOS is a legacy compatibility mode. So your main mode of SATA operation are: - IDE - AHCI - RAID However, in some BIOS there is another setting to further dictate SATA behaviour that includes options for "legacy" or "native" however I do not know the proper use for that setting. Well the lack of drivers in XP wasn't so much of an "issue" when it came out! It is a fairly old OS, I'd hardly expect that Windows 7 will be able to properly install without some additional driver files 10 years from now! As far as the driver packs go, if you want to make an XP disc that is to be used on a bunch of different kinds of boards, they only one you'd really need would be the mass storage drivers. If you want to make your XP disc install everything for you, I couldn't really say. As far as the files needed, It doesn't hurt to put the entire f6flpy-x86 folder onto the floppy disk, but having the AHCI files in there when you are using IDE may be confusing because Text Mode might list multiple drivers with the same name. As far as the EXE, the driver package I downloaded did not have one. I see from MSI's website (you didn't post if you had the first or B3 board) neither of them have a floppy connector on the board. Your best bet would be to get a USB Floppy drive for systems like this. As time goes on, you'll see less and less systems that have floppy ports.
  2. Driver for XP32 is here: http://www.msi.com/service/download/driver-17380.html The files needed are: - iaStor.cat - iaStor.inf - iaStor.sys - TXTSETUP.OEM Those files are for using the IDE option in the BIOS.
  3. In this case, you are safe to delete the winre.wim. Windows won't have a need for it unless you have programmed the recovery options in the BCD.
  4. Did you rename the volume or something else? Is this one of those drives that has built-in software?
  5. I suppose in 15 years from now, users will come here for our old Windows 7 files!
  6. Most people will refer to the System Builder kit as OEM version because it does indeed state the term "OEM" on the packaging, but this is due to how it is allowed to be sold. Its something that sales people need to realise that the general customer base will refer to the incorrect terms for the products and need to be able to decode what exactly a customer is talking about... You cannot create a pre-activated install using the System Builder kit.
  7. Are you making some new website or something? The one you put in your first post is already coded to center the page content. I'm wondering what you're trying to accomplish here.
  8. .reg may be hard coded, as similar issues have been found here. However, M3U files are not natively known to XP, but only get their initial association once a program that uses that type of file (ie Winamp) is installed. So it may be possible to add M3U to PerceivedType=text. It is also possible that .reg uses a GUID as its reference, but that's just a guess.
  9. The term you need to search for is "sound schemes" as Windows 7 sound schemes Don't bother with the first Microsoft results that say "Change computer sounds" as it doesn't offer any links to where you can find new ones.

  11. Click on your username (in a post) to view your profile. Then click the "Find my content" button. Alternatively, you can use the advanced search: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?app=core&module=search&search_in=forums Which is the gear to the right of the search box. There you can search by username, etc.
  12. If you got the BSOD prior to text mode (as it sounds) that means you need to add the mass storage drivers to the CD itself, in addition to the OS files it installs. However, I'm thinking you have an old version of XP that you started from perhaps. I've only encountered this problem you describe when trying to install XP Embedded on a RAID volume. I cheaped out and used a USB DVD to do the install so I never really figured it out... then again XPe does work a little differently than regular XP.

  14. Ok but those users still need to have accounts added to your server in order for them to work with RDP. You can still add those accounts into an OU or the Remote Desktop Users group....
  15. Need some more info. What is the client OS? Are you using Active Directory? Also may need to know what kind of hardware we are talking about here, but you can look up PSExec by System Internals.
  16. Why not code your site for Firefox and add exceptions for other browsers you intend to support? This would be easier than making exceptions for everything...
  17. Presuming you're using div as containers, and as an example your div is called 'content' then this CSS is all you need: #content { margin: 0px auto; } EDIT: You ARE using a containing DIV (holder) and ALREADY have the the appropriate centering code in your CSS for that object.
  18. At a thumbnail size in such low quality, its a wonder why editing out names was even necessary. Except that it can be seen it is MerchantPlus NaviGate. Unfortunately, it is impossible to independently verify the findings using that site since likely both of these cases need to be true: 1. Have an account on that site 2. Have that account on that site I had indeed found that particular site but alas have no account to log in with. This may be related to the obscure fact that my own website makes absolutely NO money and actually costs me to keep it going.
  19. What does your error message say exactly?
  20. While you can do an in-place upgrade using the migration wizard, I'd recommend against it. Downtime could be the least of your concerns, but I recommend building new servers and migrating the roles over. Others may have a better response, but the concept is scary to me and I've heard some horror stories.
  21. I'm not sure about the second one, but in either case without knowing the exact configuration of your network (you provided generics) the responses you get may not be applicable to your particular setup. As far as #1 here is what I would do. Have all users who are allowed to use RDP put into the Remote Desktop Users group or a custom OU. Then I would create an Audit Policy to log authentication responses for that group. They would then show up (at least) in the Security section of Event Viewer.
  22. Its surprising how simple words still exist as available usernames.
  23. The Immortals - Mortal Kombat Annihilation Theme This is one of those rare instances where the title theme (or the soundtrack) is better than the entire movie.
  24. This CD you made, what kind of drive are you booting from? Is it USB, ATAPI or SATA CD drive? Does the 0x7b happen before Text Mode or after the first reboot?
  25. You can also install Windows with an autounattend.xml that boots the system into Audit mode, without having to worry about key combinations.
