  1. You can post a link if the file is on an Adobe or Macromedia URL.
  2. I notice that those two things it isn't doing (dotnet and reg) are the only two files in your .cmd that do not have fully qualified paths. It may be that FirstLogonCommands can't find those files.
  3. Well you can try using the key on the sticker on the Acer.
  4. Merged the topics. It is one reason (not relating to spam) as for why to not make duplicate topics, especially when reference is made to the other one. Its better to keep it all in one thread. Except now the problem is that iamtheky's first post is out of place in the thread. Alas, since this has changed from being a Windows 7 problem to a hard drive problem, I'll need to file this appropriately.
  5. Which version of Shockwave Player?
  6. Well seeing as how hh.exe is not present in either of those registry methods, I can only imagine that it is coded within the application, as the second method suggests. That is, unless its presence on the exclusion list is kept elsewhere besides those two registry locations... If it is coded into the application, then creating a duplicate with a different file name wouldn't make a difference. I'll try it out tho and see what happens. Well it seemed like a good idea, except Windows won't let me do anything inside the default Start Menu (C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs) besides create folders. Creating a shortcut (or even a txt file) just isn't an option...
  7. Regedit
  8. Do you think it would be possible to either allow CHMs to appear in the Windows 7 Start Menu, or the application used to launch CHMs with an expandable arrow? I know that by default, only executables will show up in the "most used" portion of the start menu, but I open CHMs a lot and it would be great to have them show up too.
  9. You won't be able to change the permissions of ROUTE (or set to run it as Administrator) but you might want to look at AppLocker if the version of Windows you are using supports it. I'm not sure if creating a rule for ROUTE will auto-elevate the program or not. You can try setting whatever program (your VPN software I imagine) that is doing the call to run as Administrator on the Compatibility tab.
  10. I hazard a guess that _ext=%%~xA Which is set during the For above your three outcomes in the IF statement that follows. If that is the case, then it the variable would exist, and not equal .wim, which only allows for the error to appear. I'm not too good at batch so I'll let others check it out.
  11. What about using that component in the AuditSystem pass?
  12. Windows Embedded Studio is for creating XPe installs. If you want to change the behaviours of an XPe system, you would need to load the offline registry hive and make the appropriate changes that way.
  13. How much free hard disk space do you have?
  14. No I think it is safe to use environment variables without quotes.
  15. Welcome to the MSFN!
  16. :Wumpscut: - Soylent Green
  17. Hotfixes are not redistributable. I have modified your post.
  18. What's so special about these? Why not get them from the Catalog site?
  19. Ah I was under the impression that the "rebuild image" option would replace the image in WDS. I will try that and see if it makes a difference. EDIT: replacing the boot image in WDS worked out fine.
  20. I've never heard that kind of message before, but it has been a couple years since I've had to call in an XP activation. Usually if the automated system rejects it, I would get transferred to a person.
  21. You should post the E number of your CPU to be sure, but I am going to guess that you have a Quad-Core CPU with Hyperthreading enabled.
  22. Logs are kept in two different locations. c:\windows\system32\sysprep c:\windows\panther When looking at the log files, make sure to take note of the timestamp. This will help you find the correct files for whatever the problem is you are looking for. I'm not sure it is related to the mass storage driver, since if it were incorrect you would get a STOP 0x7b error instead.
  23. While I am looking into how to automate MDT's Lite Touch pages, I am stuck on the User Credentials page that is used to connect to the Deployment Share. If I fill this out manually, it works and everything is fine. I can't seem to actually automate this process so it connects to the share automatically. I've found solutions to this problem by adding credentials into the bootstrap.ini, then rebuild and replace the boot images, but any time I do this it still will prompt me for credentials. Am I missing a step?
  24. Well we can only guess some things, since you end up using terms like "my computers" vs "customer computer" but it would be better if we knew which OS was on each one.
  25. I am going to hazard a guess that your Main computer was the Master Browser of the workgroup. Shutting it down enabled another PC to become the Master Browser and likely refreshed something. I don't remember exactly how that process works. Was your main PC the XP one?
