  1. What software are you using to measure the temperature? How exactly are you playing a 4k video?
  2. Well my point was that you refer to me by my forum title rather than username. But its ok, it happens often. Good to hear you got it to work.
  3. I've never actually used setupcomplete.cmd myself, only FirstLogonCommands with an unattend.xml.
  4. Garfield is the best.
  5. If you insist on referring to me by my title, then I'll have to start calling you Newbie! Yes, your XML does not specify that information so OOBE will ask it of you. In your XML you had attached before, I don't see any static IPs for DNS in the specialize pass. The ones I do see are in the WinPE pass. But I do see in specialize you have it set to enable DHCP on the two NICs. This is a default setting and you can remove that component.
  6. It is how it is designed. Sysprep will make an XML file there with either the default settings, or using the settings provided in the file specified by the file in the /unattend option. As an example, if I have an image that I want to make a change to, I mount the image and edit that XML, save changes and unmount. I took a quick look at your file just now, but I will try to do some testing tomorrow to see if I can replicate.
  7. Nah it is even worse! I will move this to the nLite forum.
  8. Yes, I understand that the AIO is supposed to represent the PC, however there is a big difference between your standard desktop PC and an AIO... The ability to change/add hardware such as video, sound, capture, etc. I recall the Windows 10 presentation thing they did earlier (or maybe last year) and they went on about how Windows 10 is for gamers, yet they don't put a gamer type PC in their advertisements.
  9. I recall in the past that you could change the firmware on a DVD drive for different regions, but you only had a limited amount of times you could do that. Unless there is a way to make your drive region free... I once considered having two drives, one for each region I wanted to use, but I never got around to it.
  10. I think I'll need an updated XML. The one I have is the original one with the errors. Can you attach (or you can PM if you want) the file that Setup is using? It says it is located here: C:\windows\Panther\unattend.xml If you attach for public (or PM), change the ProductKey to xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx. Another thing, regarding the original XML... it has windowsPE pass in it. This is not used by sysprep or during first boot after deployment, so it can be removed entirely.
  11. The GUID in the GPO error is not a random one and can be searched. Here is one thing I found: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/windowsserver/en-US/675b6f9e-375b-411c-ab39-bac9b0c8df56/windows-cannot-access-the-file-gptini-for-gpo
  12. Which integration method or software did you use? Not knowing how XP installs work exactly, it might be the case that you'd have to start over.
  13. Reading about potentially corrupt OSes... I got to wonder. Has anyone had to do a repair install on an XP OS that was franken-POSReady-2009 yet?
  14. Have you updated your VirtualBox version? It seems this error might have been fixed already. Lookie here: https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=62615
  15. Take a look at the thumbnail of the video on that page. You see all the sorts of devices that are to be within that 1 billion devices including phones, tablets, notebooks, AIO, Xbox and TV. Notice that the Desktop PC is not shown there!
  16. You'll need to get to the setuperr.log to find which item it had a problem with. But I want to understand how you are using this XML. Are you using it with Windows Setup and a DVD install? The CopyProfile object is only to be used with Sysprep, not for Setup unattend.
  17. Its a good point. I don't actually plan on using this installation for any sort of normal operation. Even if I were to use Windows 10 at some point in the future, I wouldn't be using IE/Spartan for anything besides MS websites anyways.
  18. I reinstalled again, and I see that it does say exactly what happens if you choose Express settings. Even the part about sending your browsing history to MS.
  19. Windows 10 is obviously designed (or intended) to be used in a "connected" world. I do all my work in an isolated network, and during OOBE, Windows puts up an error! It says "Something went wrong" when it tries to find the MS server login/create an account. It is the same behavior as Win 8.x, where if you have no network access, you can just skip to the local account screen. IIRC Windows 8 did not consider no network access to be an error.
  20. I'm not certain what it specifically means by "color profiles." Is that something you set on the monitor itself, or something you set in the OS? The people reviewing the monitor on that link seem to be overly picky regarding the capabilities of the display. It is likely due to them using monitors in a profession where I can see the need for that. But I think if you are not that demanding of how your monitor looks, then I would disregard most of that. Basically if you can change the settings to make it look good to you, then that is all that is important. Either way, I doubt it is possible to "break" the color settings... Most panel displays I've seen have the ability to reset settings to default.
  21. I hope they change the use of the words "Windows browsers" to "Internet Explorer" or "Microsoft browsers" or whatever... I think the big one of those options is the one saying your browsing history will be sent to MS. As that could be a privacy violation, a user who is setting up Windows for the first time would not know what they would be getting into by choosing Express Settings. I don't think that it is mentioned on that screen, but I will reinstall tomorrow to take another look. The "automatically connect to networks shared by my contacts" is a weird one. I wonder what that actually means. Since it follows the one about "open networks," (which I'm presuming it means wireless ones) I can't see how Windows would know what wireless networks your "contacts" are connected to. So far Windows 10 looks to be one of these: or or or
  22. I downloaded the Windows 10 IP x64 build 10074 and decided to choose Customize Settings rather than the Express Settings I normally pick. I'm kinda glad because all of these are enabled by default. The ones switched off are my own choices and I don't feel they should ever be enabled. The ones I left on don't seem to be a big deal to me.
  23. I also validated your (fixed) answer file against a windows 8.1 image. Those items the validator says are deprecated should be removed. CustomDefaultThemeFile ShowWindowsLive SkipMachineOOBE SkipUserOOBE And of course, get that Theme section out of the Specialize pass and try it again.
  24. I merged and edited your posts because it is unnecessary to post to nearly identical XML files when you could just post what is different. In the future, use the CODE tags as Dosprobie asked, or attach the XML to the post rather than pasting it into a reply. The forum software makes it difficult to take what you posted and make an XML with it. Your TimeZone in OOBE is invalid. You can try Central Standard Time. Why do you have Themes in both Specialize and oobeSystem passes? The one in specialize is missing its opening tag object.
  25. Similar for Android: http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/163643-its-windows-on-your-phone/
