  1. Please keep religious beliefs out of the forum. We are purely concerned with technology alone. * topic closed
  2. Why not post actual link? http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/n...china_news_dc_1

  4. There's definitely a choice: If you are more comfortable with mIRC, then you can use it. If you feel IRC clients are too complex, or cant use it for any reason, then the web-UI is good. Truly, the killer part of it has to be that you dont need any special apps/skills to access it. Just go to a link, and you are ready to go....
  5. "topic moved" notifications, what to do? Where's my topic now? if you get a notification in your PM like this: It does not say where it got moved to.Then here's how you can track your topic: 1. Click on your username in the login bar at top, where it says "Logged in as: USERNAME ( Log Out )" 2. Now your user profile shows up. In the profile options section (uppermost), click this link: "Find member's topics" 3. That will show you all the topics you created (including the recently moved one), arranged with newest one on top. Or you can search for a specific word from your own topic, which is most likely unique to it.
  6. Okay, consider the requirement solved! WOW! http://europe.nokia.com/nokia/0,,79477,00.html#download New refresh update of PC Suite (v6.6.1) released on September 30th, which now allows text messages - sending & receiving via PC itself - for Nokia 3230. And here's Nokia PC Suite for ngage (and QD) - http://www.n-gage.com/en-R1/support/Software/pcsuite.htm
  7. Darn! And to think that our impression was, war-time is the worse, and peace-time couldn't kill you....
  8. Yup thats the right way you've done it. And right, the NAM folder does have a setup.exe and is useless. The unpacked inf from that file, is still not necessary, since you get the drivers installed thru windows setup, instead of using a separate installer. You can delete the NAM folder, its no harm. And also, one more piece of info. Those files that you see in the "Ethernet" folder, are used only for nForce3 & nForce4 MoBos (the 64-bit ones). If you've got an nForce1 or nForce2 based motherboard, then all you really need, is the "Pre-NRM" folder, in the Ethernet folder.
  9. Which version of Office are you referring to? 97? 2000? XP? 2003? They all have Service Packs, numbered two. Full version, or just the SP alone?
  10. Hi superlevel, yes win2k unattending is pretty much the same. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...ndpost&p=232816 http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...ndpost&p=262654 http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...indpost&p=95573 EDIT: And give a descriptive title when starting a topic! Irrelevant topic names like "okay im stupid" will only lose potential helpers who might rather want to see a proper title.
  11. Congratulations Zxian! Lets hope we'll all have many more MSFN birthdays I should be completing my second birthday soon, i think!
  12. Wow tris, thats nice to know that it all began from IRC! Hmm, i agree, I've seen many real-time chat proposals come and go. Hopefully, this time we've got the critical mass to keep it in operation. That, and pjIRC is extremely simple, so people might like the chat-site. You know, like probably a number of members could PM each other, or plan among themselves thay they will all meet on http://msfn.org/irc at Sunday 11 AM, etc...
  13. http://www.cyborgname.com/ have fun!
  14. Was SP3 ever in doubt? Its amazing how ZDnet (and other trade magazines) make it seem like no one expected that MS will make an SP3 for WinXP!

  16. Opinions please. We'll setup an IRC server on the msfn domain itself, and then the ops & us can enter it. For the rest of the non-savvy public, pjIRC is good i think - It gives a web-interface to access the IRC room. We can set it up such that only members can access the web interface, and they can be all sent straight to a pre-set chatroom. In other words, when its done, the experts can use irc://irc.msfn.org/#chatroomname (via mIRC, trillian, etc) and the members who just want to enter quick, can chat via web itself, at http://msfn.org/irc Sample - http://www.pjirc.com/chat/SimpleApplet.php?nick=Guest??? You can see it LIVE in action here: http://broadbandforum.in/irc/
  17. you sure that its not illegal to post that key?

  19. Yes, there will have to be some person or bot, to moderate or over-see the goings-on. Only difference is, they aren't called mods, but rather - Ops (for channel-operators).
  20. AdminStudio, or Install-Shield X Pro - these are install makers that can edit MSI's or make MST for them.
  21. Thats true.... Anyways, I vote for the IRC room. I'll check if its possible to setup an IRC server on this domain itself. Having an MSFN chatroom on huge networks like EFnet or DALnet, just seems tacky, when we could have it right here itself. Moreover, if the person that originally created the channel exits without passing on the channel-op powers to someone else, control of the channel will VERY SWIFTLY be lost to hackers.

  23. This tool is not quite any better. XP's own implementation is good! btw, dont post in wrong forum. * topic moved to software hangout
  24. Mis-understanding!That figure was not metric numerals. That dot would be a comma, in actuality. Therefore..... 1,300 GB. = 1.3 TB. Thats much, thats plenty, thats massive!
  25. From what i gather, Nero7 is using MSI installer? Then why not just make a transform (*.MST) - an example of this is Office XP/2003.
