  1. Well, the idea looks nice. But maybe I didn´t have enough sleep, to grab the idea behind it. I saved all necessary drivers from the running system with double driver, integrate them with nlite and remove all others with nlite. The RAID controller ( promise 100 pdc20256r ) is integrated via textmode (it´s a modded one, for the modded "lumberjacker full raid bios") anyways. It´s a main feature of nlite, to get rid of the "F6 curse". Will look at it it tomorrow again, maybe it´s not so confusing for me anymore. ...or is it an XP specific thing (I´m running W2K) ? Agi
  2. Try to shorten the pathnames for the hotfixes. They easily exceed 255 letters. Agi
  3. What about : (NOT the LS_u.ini, because this contains your KEY!!!) didn´t you understand ??? Please remove it immediately !!! Agi Hammerklau P.S.: LSini stands for Last Session ini. Will be back in 30 minutes.
  4. Wasn´t meant offensive, if it was, I apologize. Nuhi announced, that the new Version will be out tonight. Hope, that will remove your problem Agi
  5. @Nuhi Don´t know, if you received the mail already, there is NO reported problem, according to german-nlite.de forum. Agi Hammerklau
  6. @extrabigmehdi Didn´t know, it is discontinued. Backuped the drivers long time ago, since there are no new ones, for my old system. Thought, it might be a cheap alternative. Seems, I got it wrong, about the nvidia drivers. @NaDer_GenKO Sorry, of cause it´s the device manager ! I´m running a german windows, so I mixed up the english terms. Just choose the option "show hidden devices", there shouldn´t be a yellow "?" or "!". Especially check the tree "systemdevices". Have an AMD with VIA chipset, so there´s VIA CPU to AGP and so on. Agi Hammerklau
  7. @NaDer_GenKO Well, just check the drivers in "hardwaremanager". @extrabigmehdi There´s also "doubledriver" ! It´s FREEWARE, but also got the same problem with nvidiadrivers, as "drivergenius" does... Agi Hammerklau
  8. @Nuhi Well, it´s confirmed for german W2K. For german XP, I think, chris.b© or magic_andre can answer. Will check, as soon, as the german-nlite.de server is back on... Can´t even get them on QIP... or did you already ask them ? Agi
  9. I remember, to have seen this text on computerbase and several other pages (not sure about unattend.com?). They provided a list for "normal", "safe", "surfing"... Have to google myself again, where I got the table from, I´m still using, for W2K. Agi Hammerklau
  10. YES, you did ! Nlite should be run on a clean source and you shouldn´t integrate updates/ hofixes for components, you want to nlite anyway. You shouldn´t mark them in the "components to keep" menu as well, ´cause they won´t show up in the removal section otherwise. btw. : the link is blocked now, but when it was still up, it looked pretty chinese to me and babelfish didn´t give an understandable translation (tried all asian languages), so I don´t know what this tutorial told you... ...but if you want to slip updates, hotfixes, IE, DX... there is HFSLIP and you can run nlite on this source, to integrate drivers and remove components afterwards... Agi Hammerklau
  11. @Nuhi You read carefully enough, but there is no valuable info, even between the lines, except: It´s a mobile HD and XP is to be installed on a partition, running vista. So... @bitbugsbyte You could have saved yourself a lot of "try and error" if you´d posted your sysspecs and answer the following questions: 1. What OS are you running nlite on XP or Vista ? 2. Is it the same computer (PC or Laptop), your running nlite on, where XP should be installed later on ? 3. Did you select "show hidden files", "show systemfiles", "show all folders" in "folder options" ? 4. What kind of XPCD are you using (normal, OEM, with or without SP) ? 5. Where did you create the XPCD folder and saved the contents of the XPCD to, when you pointed to the CD in nlite ? 6. Why didn´t you upload your last_session_ini (NOT the LS_u.ini, because this contains your KEY!!!) as 7z or posted it, in a codebox (with languages and keyboards removed) right away ? Agi Hammerklau
  12. @efrain Does this sound familiar : NEVER use an nlited source again ? NEVER EVER !!! : ...use an LSini, made with a former Version, to make a new nlite CD !!! Agi
  13. @GrofLuigi Agree with you about the "serial ports". Disabled them in BIOS, but "game Port" still shows up in "hardwaremanager", even though "LG EX D3D" Joystick, is pluged into USB and drivers are nlited and just USB drivers are integrated. But for sake of times, there are 2 "Compatition Pro" Joysticks, via WinUAE. Disagreeeeee, about the "Parport" !!!!!!! My Scanner depends upon ( Mustek 600IIEP ) just usable via "parporttweak"... My AMIGA500 as well !!! SO, IF : No Hardware- , but Driverremoval. Thank You Nuhi !!! Agi
  14. @legolash2o What do I have to keep then, if I want to use XML ? First thing to go is IE, 2nd OE, 3rd MSXML (no need for it), still trying to find a tutorial, how to replace the core in W2K. http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/control.htm is still not working reliably. @extrabigmehdi I like to see, what´s removed as well, but most simply forget the "Boardnettiquette" and forget to remove "Keyboards & Languages" off their LSinis, when they post them, so it´s always "scrolling, scrolling, till the fingers bleed and missing important things". Most languages are removed anyway, because OpenOffice and FireFox install them for user´s needs. @NUHI The IDs refer to MS standardfunktions/ keys and the localized IDs refer to them. So there shouldn´t be a problem, to (re)convert the (localized)IDs or do it parallel, optional (just to post it in english to the forum or bugfix), in a separate file ? Agi
  15. most probably. "This is one of the last V8 Interceptors..." (Mad Max) A vanilla XP "GOLD" CD, soiled with an SP1 ? ... Wish, I had one ! ...but nothing about it, shows up in the LSini, so if you insert them, right before making the iso, what are they ? If you didn´t, in your last tests, disregard my question. Did you check all files, when nlite hung, before, if they may be corrupt ? Winrar does a pretty good job. Had a problem once, saved everything on a FAT32 partition and was running an nlited system with FAT32->NTFS removed. Agi
  16. You´re welcome ! These reasons were exactly, what sounded so strange to me. Unfortunately, I´m not even close to reducing the source this much and the RAMload this far, but am working on it. Agi
  17. @Nuhi & georgeasch They worked flawlessly for me (W2K). The mouseoptions were tested with different drivers (MS and Logitech, even with Logitechmouseware) on USB and PS2 connectors. Thank you Nuhi, for considering to put the NetDDE option back in! Agi
  18. Sorry, didn´t find the good english ones anymore, but I remember there is a pretty good one at winfaq. btw. have a tripleboot ( C:W98SE Bootpartition, D:W2K Systempartition, E:W2K nlite Test Systempartition) and after running into the same $OEM$ problems, stopped using OEM folders. Agi
  19. Here´s a little overview about the structure of OEM folders. Maybe it helps. http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsVista...3.mspx?mfr=true Agi
  20. Sorry, missed the lines in the changelog. Agi
  21. Well, it sounds pretty strange, to HFslip an already nlited HFsource(ss) again. I´m running W2K, create the source(ss) with HFSLIP and run nlite on it, afterwards. What´s the advantage of running HFSLIP again ? Most stuff is already reduced and integrated by HFSLIP, the rest is integrated (drivers), killed/ kept and set by nlite. Agi
  22. Maybe I missed some important changes or it´s BSE, but I can´t remember, that IE7 or WMP11 get installed, if you simply dump the exe into "hotfixes". Agi
  23. Thx, now we have somthing to work with. 1. you integrated IE7 hotfixes, but where´s the IE7 ? don´t see an addon... same for WMP11... 2. never ever save anything under "documents and settings" !!! it will easily exceed the 256 letter pathlength and can cause severe read/ write problems 3. it´s maybe not the swedish fonts, but somtimes nlite dosn´t like "ä, ö, ü,..." Did you use a "clean source" or has nlite already been run on it ? Agi
  24. Please attach your last session ini (with languages and keyboards removed). It´s a wild guess, but it´s possible, that there is a problem with swedish letters. Agi
  25. Well, that seems to be logical, since it´s exactly, what is stated in the "group policy console" helpcontext : "depends on local security settings" Agi
