  1. I posted it so that people wouldnt go there sorry I should have made it more clear that it is an infected site :cry
  2. Very nice, good improvement:D
  3. Ive seen a few reports about this...dont know if its the same thing but, it has something to do about a worm that manipulates ur messenger buddies and takes that info and then sends out infected messengers to them without them not knowing that its not u:eek: sounds strange but it apparently it can infect ur puter from visiting various sites one that was listed was: http://www.rjdesigns.co.uk/**** note from sedative[/color:b1e2614bed] i edited the URL just in case somebody was to visit the site (you never know)
  4. program that tests to see if your video card and drivers support the new Windows XP APIs for alpha blending acceleration along with general performance tests. http://www.stardock.com/files/xpbench_103.exe
  5. Ive decided to use the warning/shutdown feature of my mobo and im trying to work out what temps I should set it for [b:62be77cc21]BLACKWAR[/b:62be77cc21] - those fan speeds are truly pathetic, go get a good heatsink before u end up cooking something!!! [b:62be77cc21]BAH[/b:62be77cc21] - checked out ur link to see what Max Die Temperature would be for my cpu's, so could config my mobo for warnings ( my XP 1800 run at about 95 degrees farenheit) and my ( P4 1.8 at about 89 degrees farenheit) checked my board and cpu temps from cmos as well as sissoft sandra now the AMD site says that the max die temps for the XP cpu is 190 degrees farenheit and the P4 at about 160 so what is the best temp to set warnings at, I was going to set mine from about 120f

    MOHAA Prob!!

Yeh I installed that patch installed game from from original disks, the first time I played it, it went straight to network connections...this was before i applied the patch, so I ran the patch and it keeps doing the same thing???? Its getting annoying   during install of the game I chose not to install the spyarcade software, wouldnt think this would have ne thing to do with it thou???
  7. Are u right clicking on ur desktop(ne where it doesnt matter) choose properties....at the bottom do u get a panel that says display properties if so go to the tab that says desktop and follow the rest of the instruction posted above!!!!
  8. Well there u go....input from the [b:2d3c457823]Master of upgrades[/b:2d3c457823] :Dlol no really that is the only way to go about it....I think the word was [b:2d3c457823]research[/b:2d3c457823] plenty of places to do that (so happy hunting) [b:2d3c457823]Geforce 4 for $129.00[/b:2d3c457823] - not a bad price, could be something to look into myself!!!

    MOHAA Prob!!

How do u config MOHAA so that it doesnt want to go straight to network connection evertime I start a game???? when ever I choose a new game or saved game it wants to connect??
  10. I went from a P3 800mhz to the P4 1.8gig, and I will be honest with u the speed difference is noticable u do notice running time on alot of apps as well as overall O/S speed being faster...the general things like open folder windows etc..basically u can open alot of them without maybe getting the system lockups of an older proccessor, or the long wait before the icons appear in folders that u used to get....in short u can do alot more things Simultaneously the jump in bus speed is always great getting a good motherboard can only enhace the performance of proccessor as well, thats why ur better of building a machine yourself...so if ur got the cash look at other options and doing it yourself cause u can find dirt cheap stuff, save ur self some dollars i.e maybe AMD 1800+/and a good mobo
  11. It could be a problem relating to ur systems registry hive either missing or corrupt if u cant gain access into xp its because the registry hive stores the info for ur O/S to boot ur machine. If the above suggestions fail to work then ur going to need to boot the XP from dos and run the repair tools (either from ur boot disks or a bootable version XP) u will need to replace the system file from ur cd system32config folder, by renaming the old version and replacing it with a new version ne drivers or progs that u have installed may need to be replaced after this is finished if u need further assistance let us know???
  12. I have a P4 similar setup to what [b:7148c86d2c]popeye[/b:7148c86d2c] looking at which runs a Asus Geforce 2 TI(V7700), its not a bad card but I also have a Radeon 8500 64mb which i run in an AMD 1800+ system...swapped them over a few times to compare and I just think the Radeon wins out
  13. I would have to agree with [b:a7c165be9c]Drewdatrip[/b:a7c165be9c], stick with the Radeon card forget going to Geforce 2( If u were thinking about Geforce 3...then maybe) as for ur cpu upgrade, not a bad move P4
  14. Not bad, it is a good color choice with the dark red.......do u have to go with the classic style menu, how does it go with with a more xp looking start menu in charcoal/dark red??
  15. well I can select or config which apps I want to use when I change my desktop, in objeck desktop I can select which I want to use for my new skin or I can switch over to stylexp and make changes to my current desktop [img:94bb3e742b]http://home.iprimus.com.au/dukereid/untitled.jpg[/img:94bb3e742b] Im currently working on my own skins so im using most of these progs to develope various parts of my theme so that eventually I will only use skin studio to control my desktop
  16. Read the forum rules..... its the post above this one
  17. I actually prefer Skin Studio, but I did download both the stylexp beta 7 version and the stylebuilder. dont mind either of them, cant understand why these progs aren't freeware progs...cause seriously whos going to pay for a prog like this
  18. Do u have the "remember each folders view setting" enabled in tools??? checked ur previous posts and couldnt see that u had said weather this was enabled or not
  19. [b:8b2b36f3b7]nothingnoiz[/b:8b2b36f3b7] check ur tools/folder options/view and make sure that u have the "do not cache thumbs marked" this will help ur system speed when u access these folders or try the following 1. Go to Run in the startmenu 2. Type gpedit.msc 3. Click OK and the Group Policy will open 4. Go to User Configuration/Administrative Template/Windows Components/Windows Explorer 5. Scroll down to the bottom of the long list of stuff that now shows up in the menu on the right. Double-Click on Turn off caching of thumbnail pictures. 6. Click on Enable then Apply, Ok. And now you no longer have this annoying problem. Thumbs.db is there so that you don't need to reload a thumbnail everytime you browse that folder
  20. Cant agree more with B.B & Drewdatrip M$ ME isnt worth the disk its burnt on ......thats about a quarter
  21. I had NPF 2002 running on my puter for a while, didnt really find anything wrong with it....actually thought it had a few good features. But there are some other better options/progs that are available and Im not that keen on many norton products. [b:3e718558f0]DumDum[/b:3e718558f0] if I remember correctly on NPF u have to config ur Internet access control which allows the .exe files of programs to access the internet as to ur firewall rules settings...be it custom settings or automatic
  22. Good to see a top skinning site back, used to get most of my XP skins from here or themexp
  23. Sorry my mistake........ well if ur looking at adjusting it in ur registry, run regedit to see if u can fix it there
