  1. That's because IE7 needs Autoupdate and nLite protects it for you. There is some issue with IE7 remembering settings if Autoupdate is removed. That might be changed since IE7 was updated few times, let me know if it works fine for you without the AU.
  2. You posted the private part of the preset, thats not needed, we just need Last Session.ini from the ISO/CD. But that wont help since you say it works in the virtual machine. If you changed Computer Type in the Unattended - General, make sure to set that to Default and redo Unattended settings, remake ISO and try then. Also make sure that the ACPI is enabled in the BIOS. Then recheck your storage controller drivers if you integrate them, also don't remove any IDE controllers or even SCSI drivers until you see what you need.
  3. krash56, what you say isn't possible. Welcome Screen and Sidebar came back? I don't see any of these removed in your preset. Maybe you did that thing where people think that Unecheck means Remove? It's Selected = Removed as stated in the page title. Oh and very important keep DEP at Default just for precaution, it's known to mess up many things if switched.
  4. Yes unfortunately you have to do it all over. I do some things which enable me to reinstall to the full state in one hour total. Export some REG entries, backup certain Appdata folders, use programs that don't have to be reinstalled and put them on another partition...
  5. TheeBeets, sp1 can't be integrated with the click of a button, head on vlite.net for more info. larciel, I tried adding a 'Brother' printer and it is installed fine next to the Microsoft XPS Document. Do you have some more leads, maybe you integrate something or change from your preset. Oh and did you make your own SP1 or it's MS preintegrated?
  6. Your OS is somehow broken, that browse windows looking like that means that some of your classes in the registry and/or dlls could be of wrong version or missing. But I will check if maybe some option is doing that. How did you set your Server, any tight policies, what Role is it?
  7. jdeboeck, salute. Don't worry about the servicing stack, vLite and Vista during setup automatically uses the newest found, it all works just fine, all the setup files are unimportant if you don't have issues like some people with 3gb+ of RAM.
  8. Remake the ISO with that component kept, that's the fastest. If you spend much time on trying to patch it up that will last longer. Also you can't expect that you will guess what you don't need on your first try. Gonna see about adding this to the compatibility options to ease it for the future.

    HID problem

Thx for the info, will do.
  10. vLite is for personal usage, not Dell
  11. larciel, presets must be in the vlite\presets folder before starting vLite for them to be loadable. I tried your preset and Spooler works fine.
  12. If you integrate SP1 like this then you do not have to install SP1 for an hour after every OS reinstall and you can remove components from it. Yes uninstall is in manual install and reverse integration, not in the MS preintegrated. Yes Vsp1cln will work. Yes uninstall is in Winsxs. You're welcome
  13. hannubys, that means you selected the Skip Product Key option which then enters legal trial key which you have to change and activate in 30 days. You will notice that your product key box is disabled when that option is checked.
  14. If you just select Unattended, ISO creation and on Apply choose Save Changes Only then it won't be changed in any way. If your SP1 still fails with no components removed then it's hardly vLite issue but to be safe you explain to me how exactly to test for that.
  15. Please don't double post, also know that it is not known bug so lets first see why http://www.msfn.org/board/Buffer-overflow-...P1-t112414.html
  16. That's why there is Hide component option. Granted it is like a single compat option but it takes care of your manual protections.
  17. Hm, could be that instead of BSOD you got that hang, check this info (Reboot on Browse): http://www.vlite.net/archive.html Do you have an antivirus or firewall with process protection installed?
  18. Oh that, ok thx for the explanation, that's true. But if you don't have any issues with the setup process it is all the same, what's important is in the install.wim, setup files don't get used after install.
  19. larciel, depends on the Apply method chosen the first time. Recopy clean DVD files and start over if you want another version. Also what is the Load Option, is it Browse button?
  20. Thank you for the explanation, fixing that in next one. Btw normally that folder is in the install.wim even after the capture, at least in mine.
  21. jaws75, my reverse integrated has the proper SP1 version listed. vLite reads that from the install.wim.
  22. There are some drivers that block SP1, thats why they are delaying it. Also make sure not to disable any services, especially Windows Update. And for the heck of it try reenabling UAC.
  23. hannubys, I had the same issues when booting of the USB hdd so try a DVDRW or something for the unattended to fully work. I don't believe that the CDKEY can be entered wrongly. If you can confirm with some bogus key and post the instructions here how to check for that that would be great.
  24. Sorry for the delay. That driver link doesn't work so if you can send me that driver and "last session.ini" (not this last session_u.ini) to my email (you can find it on the welcome page of nlite or website-contact) that would be great.
  25. More info at vlite.net ('Service Pack compatibility' news post)
