  1. Have a look on this thread: http://www.msfn.org/board/VistaSP1-Problem-t113289.html In my case not removing "Remote Desktop and Assistance" fixed the problem.

Hmmm...Same removals doesn't give any problems to me. And I guess none of them will ever cause such problem. Did u use the orignal preintegrated SP1 from MS?

    VistaSP1 Problem

Finally I found out that removal of "Remote Desktop and Assistance" is causing this problem. So half work of problem solving is done...by identifing the cause. Fixing it, I guess, is only in hands of Nuhi. Lets see wheather this fix makes its way into Vlite's next relese or not. Bye

may be....I'll check that as soon as I reach home. EDIT: OK after completely removing Accessories, Drivers, Games and Languages everything is working fine. I'll keep on testing it with more removals and as soon as I Zero-in on the problem I'll post here.

So here is the list of things which were kept by razormoon and Roma; and removed by me. I've put a "--" in front of the components which I think won't cause this problem. Lego: I'll try Vliting it once more with the previous version. Thanks for the suggestion. roma: No problem. But once again, if you can just check out your "C:\Windows\Setup" folder, you may find the "LastSession.inf" file there. razormoon: Thanks for sharing the file. I can see that you haven't removed any important component from your setup. I did that (well I removed almost everything ), and broke the installation. But atleast I'm now confirmed that removing anyone of them won't break my installation.

    VistaSP1 Problem

Yes I've been using Vlite for quite some time now. Once I had similar problem when I was unable to install (or switch On windows feature) IIS, but all other things were installing/removing fine. The problem then was "Windows Help" removal. It was also removing some files which were needed by IIS. Other than that, there were no problems. But this time problem is somewhere else as nothing is getting installed or removed from it.

Ah...if only I could get your lastSession.inf file...it would've been a great help. Do you still have it with you (look into your Vlite folder for it).

hmmm...I guess, I'll do that. Meanwhile if someone finds something about this (or any hint), please let us know. Thanks

Is there anyone else who faced the same problem? Or someone who has successfully Vlited SP1 and running it without this problem?

    VistaSP1 Problem

So finally I Re-downloaded the Preintegrated VistaSP1 from MSDN and guess what...its MD5 and CRC32 matched exactly with the one I referred in my other post (the one which I got from Torrent Network). Pretty frustrating...redownloading such a huge file again is not a joke. But anyway... So the problem which I referred in my previous post still remaing with this "Legal" VistaSP1 ISO. I'm unable to make any windows features On or Off after Vliting it and it errors out with "An error has occurred. Not all of the features were successfully changed". The same removal settings work flawlessly in Plain Vista. My "Last Session.ini" is in attachment. ; vLite preset file [Information] Version = 1.1.1 on 2.0.50727.1434 Microsoft Windows NT 6.0.6001 Service Pack 1 Target = Windows Vista ULTIMATE 32-bit - 6.0.6001.18000 - English (United States) Service Pack 1 [Compatibility] Aero Glass Internet Explorer Internet Information Services (IIS) [CustomHide] [Components] ;# Accessories # Accessibility Mobility Center Paint Snipping Tool Speech Support System Information Welcome Center Windows Sidebar and Gadgets Wordpad ;# Drivers # Display adapters Diva Server Ethernet network adapters Modems Printers-Apollo Printers-Brother Printers-Canon Printers-Citizen Printers-Dell Printers-Diconix Printers-Epson Printers-Fuji Xerox Printers-Fujitsu Printers-Generic printer Printers-Gestetner Printers-HP Printers-IBM Printers-Infotec Printers-Konica Printers-Konica Minolta Printers-Kyocera Mita Printers-Lanier Printers-Lexmark Printers-Minolta Printers-Minolta-QMS Printers-NEC Printers-NRG Printers-Oce Printers-Oki Printers-Okidata Printers-Olivetti Printers-Panasonic Printers-QMS Printers-Ricoh Printers-Samsung Printers-Savin Printers-Seikosha Printers-Sharp Printers-Sony Printers-Star Printers-Tally Printers-Tektronix Printers-Wipro ePeripherals Printers-Xerox QLogic Fibre Channel Adapter Scanners Sound controllers ;# Games # Game Explorer Inbox Games Premium Inbox Games ;# Hardware Support # Dynamic Volume Manager Fax Support Firewire (1394) Internet Small Computer System Interface (iSCSI) Smartcards Windows Mobile Device Center Windows Portable Devices WLAN Support ;# Languages # Japanese Korean Simplified Chinese Table Driven Text Input Processor Traditional Chinese ;# Multimedia # Media Center Movie and DVD Maker Music and Video samples Sample Pictures Screensavers Shell event sounds SideShow Sound Recorder Wallpapers Windows Calendar Windows Photo Gallery Windows Photo Viewer ;# Network # Connect to a Network Projector File and printer sharing (Server) Remote Desktop and Assistance Remote Desktop Client Windows Collaboration Windows Mail ;# Services # Computer Browser Diagnostics Distributed Link Tracking Client Error Reporting IPsec Policy Agent Microsoft DFS Replication Offline Files ReadyBoost Remote Registry Secondary Logon Task Scheduler Volume Shadow Copy WebDAV (WebClient) Windows Remote Management Windows Search Windows Time ;# System # Beep BitLocker Drive Encryption Disk Defragmenter Disk Quota Help IMAPIv2 Burning Support Malicious Software Removal Tool Manual Install (Setup.exe) Microsoft Agent Natural Language Parental Controls Reliability and Performance Monitor Remote Differential Compression Run a legacy CPL elevated Security Center Sync Center System Restore Tablet PC Windows Backup Windows Defender Windows Easy Transfer Windows Picture and Fax Viewer (Shimgvw) Windows SAT (Performance Index) Zip Folder [Options] DEP (Data Execution Prevention) = Default User Account Control (UAC) = Disabled AntiSpyware Realtime Protection = Default AutoPlay = Disabled Paging Executive = Enabled Power scheme = Balanced Power button = Default Sleep button = Default Hibernation = Default Memory requirement = Default Control Panel - Classic View = Enabled Show hidden files and folders = Yes Show protected operating system files = No Show extensions for known file types = Yes IE Phishing Filter = Default IE Phishing Verification Ballon Tips = Default [Protection] [Drivers] [Unattended] AcceptEULA SkipProductKey SkipAutoActivation NetworkLoc = 1 [Hotfixes] [LanguagePacks]

    Is that legal?

Well....that more-or-less answers my both queries....the reason was that yesterday I tested it on VirtualPC after Vliting it...and faced a problem in "Switching window's features On/Off"...I was unable to change any setting in it. Same removal settings worked flawlessly in Plain Vista. But anyway, I think Now is not the right time for asking SP1 related problems...or is it?? Thanks
  14. resq4u

    Is that legal?

That's why I've given the CRC & MD5 Hashes of that ISO and want someone to confirm that its the orignal one; as I'm in no mood of downloading ~3GB of data again. If the hashes doesn't match, then its crap.

    Is that legal?

"Good Idea"....what..getting it through torrent??...or something else??!!
