hi scarslilpyro! it stands for System File Checker ... you may want to read on these: Description of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 System File Checker (Sfc.exe) Description of the Windows File Protection feature ... & yes if you don't want those coming up, disable SFC & delete .CAT files

hi whakamaru! i don't know if this is what you meant but there are ie6 core dependents that would be affected if you totally remove ie6 ... & indeed the guide by fdv in removing ie would be a very great source ... you may try using fdv's, tommyp's & oleg's file sets to remove ie (& some more ) & just try to see if you could still install ie7 ...

i don't like doin this too ... in my recent re-install i tried calling (as i am in transition to a new internet provider) the # specified: 800-2468-1668 but said it was disconnected ... perhaps some MS outsource company in india which had already been shut down ... would have been better if it prompted for a new # hi siginet! would this tool of yours have a separate version for running via HFSLIP or nLite as i saw this needs to be run from integrator? HFSLIP can support .7z files (& nLite i think) so can i use this? cheers!
had to change the orientation of my hdds where it hangs vertically since my chassis provides little space than required ... then just used an ordinary auxiliary fan located near the back of the hdds ... so far no hdd overheats
