    ha! ha! stress reliever
  2. thanks for this Siginet! hi sirs ... i'd like to know if this could work in a self-assembled pc? thanks in advance!
  3. hi! i'm just wondering since 7-zip has already been supported: Extended changelog for HFSLIP 1.0 , would by any chance .rar be supported thanks!
  4. thanks S-M for verifying this ... tried it again just now & still the same result ... wouldn't go any farther than Oct 11 posts ... sadly cannot read any later posts ...
  5. ey TC ... nice to hear from you again! (1) yup you granted my request on these previously ... the only thing that i noticed though is these files were only copied to an OEM directory ... created parallel to i386 & the rest ... OEMBIOS.* files already exist in i386 ... i do not know though if something is executed by the Siginet's addon ... i'll read further ... (2) how about this? (3) already read about this ... (been always recommending this link to the others who post related issues ... he! he!) ... KB894871 is a by-request only HF (would you have this HF TC ... could you kindly share it with me for download so i could test it too) while KB911564 if i recall it correctly is still needed for wmp11 as per S-M (4) thanks! (5) yup this screenshot is what i got (pls see screenshot ... oops i can't find it sorry) ... but i have th text copy attached (6) how about this too? (7) any comment on this? really wish i could do more tests so i could participate more here ... he! he! thanks! switches.txt
  6. ey TP ... nice to hear from you again! thanks for the reply ... as always i actually intend to experiment on that too (winnt.sif in APPREPLACEMENT) to explore alternate avenues for our cmd ... it's just sad that i couldn't do much testing yet as i'm just using my sister's pc (the reason too for trying OEM pre-activation in a clone machine )... as mine's still busted (mobo is for Athlon XPs but it doesn't work for 2000+, 2200 & 2600 ... yet surprisingly works on Sempron 2200 although shows as Athlon 1200 only ... he! he!)
  7. hi! i'm so glad i was able to do create some build over the past couple of days ... using 70129a (although it shows here that 70130c is already out) ... here were some of the issues i encountered: (1) as posted in a different thread: Trouble with slipstream Dell OEM Win XP, i encountered activation issues making use of Dell OEM XP Pro SP2 cd in a clone machine ... have also tried this this no wga but still the same (2) given the above concern, naturally i had problems with wmp11 & ie7 installation too ... both were not there even if IE7SVCPACK=1 was specified in HFANSWER.ini ... even with rebootting upon finishing of OS installation ... (3) please correct me if i'm mistaken, i do not need earlier wmp HFs if i were to slipstream wmp11, right? or are the following still required: KB911564 & KB894871 ... would there be any other specific HFs that are required? (4) i encountered common errors as i hit the desktop: framedyn.dll not found & error loading srclient & only a few addons were installed (& still without wmp11 & ie7) ... i think these were caused by some add-ons ... (any of these could be the culprit: Kels_FGCBA_Handler_addon_v0.897.CAB --- for this 1 there was an error while still running the cmd during the integration of addons, NR_VistaUAP_Addon_1.1.cab, or Ricks_RTMSidebar_AddOn_v2.rar ... taking these out from HFAAO did not produce the aforementioned error ... (5) likewise encountered at T-13 was this: [b]Installer initialization failed due to following error: Undefined error: Invalid command line argument "Q:A". ... although i realized later that some installers were incorrectly placed in HFSVCPACK_SW rather than in HFSVCPACK ... this has been rectified by transferring the installers (6) these 2 .msis even if placed in HFSVCPACK_SW were not installed: TimeZoneSetup.msi & UFDSetupWizard.msi (7) checking setuperr.log also presented a number of errors ... i've attached some files that might be of help ... really nice to be able to run create some builds again thanks in advance
  8. hi! i just wanted to report that i was able to do some tests the past couple of days ... tried using it with Dell OEM XP Pro SP2 ... verified that oembios.* files were present in i386 ... but upon getting to the GUI, it asked for activation ... tried likewise previous suggesion to copy winnt.sif from i386 to FIX (although i thought it wouldn't have mattered anyhow since the original file is copied over too during the cmd run ) ... still with the same result ... i know this is an obvious Q but i'd like to ask anyway: would using these OEM CDs be exclusive only for the vendor's machine? you i am trying this in a piece-by-piece assembled system ... i know Dell employs a BIOS-lock mechanism to keep it activation free ... btw, i've been using HFSLIP for a time now ... & i only got to pay attention to the use of winnt.sif in fix just very recently ... i understand that FIX is used to overwrite compressed file in the source ... so why is FIX (vs HFEXPERT/APPREPLACEMENT) the directory for winnt.sif? he! he! thanks!
  9. hi! i think what i am posting this time is related to the initial issue i reported a few months back ... although Download HTML Version seems to complete ... viewing the downloaded file gets cut till here, only until the 50th page: this happens too for both Printer Friendly Version & Download Microsoft Word Version ... at the moment there are 68 pages of the said topic ... this topic is very helpful for me so reviewing it from it's initial post is something i would like to have available for offline viewing ... this was already addressed before but now i'm back to limited resource have tried it with both ie6 & portable firefox 1.5.0.9 ... btw, this is the thread that i am downloading: HFSLIP - Test releases, 70129a (GUIRunOnce, alt. input folders, IE7 hotfixes) ... your feedback would be greatly appreciated ...
  10. oh crap! ha! ha!
  11. hi datarelm! compare your HFs in TCs list here: Windows 2000 SP4 updates and hotfixes, Jan 11 & with the_guy's list here: Windows 2000 (all), Post SP4 HotFixes Security Updates-January 2007 ...
  12. hi gaiabeliever! welcome to HFSLIP ... please know that HFSLIP does not even touch the OS you currently have running as it only makes use of what you copied to SOURCE ... enhancements & changes come from the other parallel directories (i.e, HF which contains your downloaded hotfixes, HFSVCPACK, & the like) ...
  13. will wait for it Siginet! would it employ too what severach has created? thanks!

    dotnet3

OLD THREAD ... hi! just wanted to link this topic here as it discusses dotnet3 too (& how to create it ... for use with HFSLIP ): Silent .NET Maker (latest update: 20060121), Create silent switchless .NET installers for Win2K/XP/2K3 x86
  15. hi chr0nz! usaul cause for copy errors is your source ... have you tried to recreate a new build & ensure that you are using a clean source? btw, just attach your last_session.ini instead of pasting it in your post ...
  16. simple & lite it is!
  17. this is even posted here: http://msfn.org/comments.php?shownews=19310 ... showing as Windows Media Player v11.0.5721.5146 for x86
  18. hi all! i see the same crowd here ... just stumbled upon this via HFSLIP ... i thought this would be discussed in HFSLIP too ... and eventually included in the script? just asking ...
  19. hi S-M! not much time to dig deeper about this ... i just 1 very quick Q though ... would this be applicable to XP as well or to 2K3 only? thanks!
  20. even Dell notebooks have that tool too & SRCD (system recovery cd) is always ready for burning that is why they do not send out the OS cds anymore ... we all know that HFSLIP needs to work on a clean source but it is well worth giving it a shot since basically OEM cds that some of us have already tried can be handled by HFSLIP ...
  21. hi glentium! thanks for this ... the reason i asked was because i couldn't recall any thorough discussion about makecab ... hell, i can't even recall if i had this somewhere in any of the HF directories except for the addon i tried to slipstream (i'm looking at my old HFLOG.INIs to cross-validate ... got it ... what i had were MSICabExtract.exe in HFTOOLS & Microsoft MakeCab v1.00.0601 in HFAAO) ... search produced me the ff only relevant to the current discussion:
  22. hi S-M! thanks for this one ... although may I bother you with links (or quotes) about this discussion! thanks again!
  23. from your edit: since this is not an OEM that doesn't rely on activation, how about this? you're HFANSWER.ini shows this: IE7SVCPACK=1 ... try to see if taking out winnt.sif works? ... and a few more ... (1) you have double instances of: Windows-KB890830-V1.17.exe & Windows-KB890830-V1.24.exe (2) HFSLIP.log shows OS in SOURCESS - XP SP2 English, are these not 2K updates: Windows2000-KB920213-x86-ENU.EXE, Windows2000-KB923980-x86-ENU.EXE (3) i think these files either had already been superceded or unsupported: WindowsXP-KB896422-x86-ENU.exe, WindowsXP-KB898543-v3-x86-ENU.exe (for Windows XP Starter Edition & is a requirement if slipstreaming WMP11 which you are not doing, right?)
  24. hi gokalp! welcome to HFSLIP! have you religiously followed the intructions set in Important things to know? to is it only when using the latest final (version 1.2.2)? you may try to see if you get something form this thread: IE 7 not installed with hfslip 1.2.0 ... oh btw, you only need to attach you hfslip.log ... not paste it
  25. hi S-M! i might have missed this one ... could you kindly quote where this was discussed? my apologies but i couldn't find any recent thread about it ... thanks!
