For updates I recommend you use RyanVM's Windows XP Post-SP2 Update Pack. As for the .net frameworks, you dont need version 2 if you plan on installing version 3. And I think theres a problem when integrating both 1.1 and 3.0. Dont remember the details though.

I just received the error about the shell32.dll but I cannot uninstall KB925902 since it was included with RyanVM's update pack. Is there any easy workaround?

Just check the Application Add-Ons forum. Once you get all the addons you want, just add them during the Hotfix section of nLite.

I just tried a customized cd of Windows XP SP2 and I did not get the popup. Previously I was using Server 2003 SP2. Could it be something different in teh OS or...?

nLite is not an imaging program, but it can create customized Windows CDs with many applications integrated into it.

Im having problems extracting the VMware Player 2.0 installer. I tried both methods of extraction but neither worked.

Just integrating the IE7 installer (for Server 2003) works fine. If you want to use an addon, youd have to find one made for Server 2003.

@RonPB - for your sixth suggestion, check out RyanVM's Windows XP Post-SP2 Update Pack.

When you integrate XPize, it doesnt include the extras. To install those extras you have to install XPize normally.

I never checked that box and I double-checked that it was unchecked. It still didnt help.

I had teh same situation and Server 2003 has been great Only ones I can think of is that some software wont install (like TuneUp Utiliies) and security software selection is a bit limited compared to XP.

I recommend Acronis Disk Director.

It a problem that continues to annoy me and I have no idea why it happens. In the previous thread, RyanVM suggested that you dont remove CAT files. Does that fix it and how do I make sure those files arent removed? Does disabling SFC remove them? Id also appreciate if anyone knows of alternate solutions. LAST_SESSION.INI

same here. for quick photo cropping, adding things to snapshots, and the like, Paint.NET does very well.

You can remove wmp 6.4 and 9 and after installing XP, install WMLite.

Does it work for Server 2003? If not is there a workaround?
