try removing (most) everything using vlite, and vista should fit on cd. it should be ok to remove all the drivers for example.

u can use vlite for removing some components of Vista (thus reducing bloat/footprint) and it can also disable UAC.

im glad to know what the problem is i was starting to think something was wrong with Windows Update.

reason 1: i want a new OS reason 2: i play PC games (Windows is better for gaming) reason 3: i like to be adventurous reason 4: i like a challenge my first two reasons are what most drives me toward Vista. also it interesting to use a OS that has gotten bad attention from people and what not.

go to System Properties > Advanced > Performance, Settings > and on the Visual Effects tab, check the setting(s) u want.

Disabling SFC is more or less the same as disabling Windows File Protection.

Vista already supports my printer (Deskjet 5940) but i want to remove printer drivers using vlite to save space. Could I use the XP driver or am I out of luck?

i think this may have happened with previous versions (1.2.x?), but when i load a preset file, the time zone is not set. i have to manually select it.

im talking about where several fonts are remapped to point to Segoe UI. i forgot to do a registry backup, so if anyone could help me id appreciate it.

Universal Extractor fails to extract Firetune. also i found this program packed with Setup Factory 6: Auto Schedule

i get that message at teh start of the second half of setup. It then reboots, says something about resuming setup, and the cycle repeats. I tried with both nLite 1.3 beta and 1.2.1 but the same thing happens. i have teh following packages integrated: Xable's Light Windows XP Post-SP2 Update Pack RyanVM DirectX 9.0c Addon Boooggy's ASPI Addon Kel's usp10.dll Addon rado354's Notepad++ 3.9 Addon RogueSpear .NET 2.0 Addon LAST_SESSION.INI

i believe this has been reported before, but im wondering if there is a fix or if there will be a fix. currently i can just copy the missing files from my original XP cd or copy the files before i run nlite, but it gets annoying after a while.

i like xable's pack because it is light, but ive also used Ryan's pack and its good too.

if more games were made for linux maybe people would switch, and if more people switched maybe more games would be made for linux. its a vicious cycle and its all about who goes first a pity rele

because im a PC gamer and there is no substitute for gaming under Windows. also im not much a fan of consoles. this may be an over used reason, but its what keeps me with Windows. and i dont feel like learning a new OS when Windows works fine for me (hint: i said me).

i wonder which tweak causes it? i didnt put much investigation when that happened to me, i just fixed it.

ryanvm's update pack was recently changed from cab to 7zip, but you still integrate it using the same method.
