  1. after disabling aero, u can also disable the following two services: Application Experience Desktop Window Manager Session Manager and if u dont use themes, u can also disable: Windows Themes
  2. try this: 1. integrate teh addons 2. rerun nlite to integrate hotfixes 3. run nlite one last time for everything else
  3. i recently ran CS:S on Vista and it worked fine. try using forceware 97.34.
  4. Adobe Acrobat Writer needs Printer Support. dunno bout the other two programs.
  5. i dont see any IE7 addon in that page.
  6. clear your cache and failing that, try using a different browser. heres yet another download source but try the above first.
  7. i dont know of any tutorial but u may want to look at ryanvm's RyanVM DirectX 9.0c Addon.
  8. i read that .net framework 3 = .net framework 2 + vista components. based on that, i think .net v2 apps should work with the v3.
  9. PM me too and thanks nuhi for the release im off to make a new cd.
  10. when i turned on my usb hard drive, a hardware installation box appeared. after clicking next, it found teh drivers and resumed installing. if the files exist, why couldnt it install it silently (automatically)? also when i ran the driver install for my HP printer, a warning appeared saying that "usbccgp.sys" was missing. i continued with the installer but it didnt detect the usb printer. atm, i am manually installing the printer. all the drivers are existant, but as with the usb hard disk, i have to give Windows a lil help. lastly, when i installed my ethernet drivers the Network Connections folder remained empty and theres no network icon in teh systray. my connection (and DHCP) are working fine but i feel a bit worried without the icon. maybe more problems will pop-up later... i attached my last session. also if it matters, prior to running nlite, i used ryanvm's integrator to integrate xable's post-sp2 xp update pack, ASPI driver addon, ryanvm directx addon, and .net framework 2.0 addon. LAST_SESSION.INI
  11. theres also Windows Media Lite 2.4.0 though im not certain on the difference.
  12. 1.) removewga is no longer hosted at that site, but u can find at other site like betanews. 2.) if ur windows is pirated, removewga supposedly will not work. this thread shows how to manually disable/uninstall it. idk if it works on all versions tho.
  13. in addition to the suggestions by Camarade_Tux, id like to remove: windows defender backup and restore center windows mail windows calendar windows photo gallery windows movie maker
  14. use nlite 1.0.1 if u rele need the installation now. otherwise wait for the next release.
  15. download a Firefox addon and add it in the Hotfixes and Update Packs section of nlite.
  16. i bet theres numerous threads about this, but i want someone to walk me through each and every step to getting the tweaks onto my xp source. i know about teh Registry Tweaks page but i dont rele get it. i have teh list of HKCU and HKLM tweaks i want, and ive already made my install unattended with nlite.
  17. id integrate SP2 into your xp source and burn it to cd. then u wont have to repeat that step. then id run nlite once for integrating update packs and run nlite a second time for everything else. those services cannot be removed with nlite 1.0.1. im not sure about the newer versions.
  18. not to get off topic, but if u dont provide a full name wont Windows then prompt you and thus it wont be an unattended setup anymore?
  19. #4 - not all tweaks work. i dont know of a list though. #6 - for me i run nlite once to integrate a update pack, then run nlite again for everything else (component removal, unattended, etc)
  20. yes u can integrate it. an addon can be found here, but i dont know if its includes any updates (if there are any). just check the option for integrating Hotfixes and Update Packs, click insert and point nlite to the addon u just downloaded.
  21. did u integrate any update packs (like ryanvm's or xable's)? if yes, did u remove teh catalog files?
  22. .PQI is teh extension for an image created by PowerQuest's Drive Image iirc. its an image of ur hard disk after XP is installed, so it would have everything from Windows as well as any extra programs, files, or folders ASUS included. i doubt u could strip out the junk.
